Photoblogging: San Francisco

DoloresParkSunset.jpg
Monday evening there was an incredible sunset in San Francisco. I captured a number of images of it, including some HDR triplets, one of which is shown here. If you’re interested to learn more how the HDR process works, you can download a copy of the original RAW images here. The software I use to create HDR images is HDR Efex Pro, which is available free here.

  1. “So what? I guess they just don’t make them like they used to.”
“No! Nobody ever made them like this! The architect was either a certified genius or an aesthetic wacko!”

  2. My apologies to Kate for using this site this way.
    But speaking of photo processing.
I just purchased my first smart phone a few weeks ago ( at age 56 ) and at the google app store they tell me I can not download free apps because they do not recognize my “device” ( my smart phone )
in their explanation they say something very strange; they tell me that once I download an app they will recognize my phone.
But until I download an app they will not.
It is a chicken and egg thing.
How do I get my first app?? if until I do they can not recognize my smart phone?? but to get an app they must already know my phone??
has anyone else had that problem?
I know there is a lot of brilliant people here who are very well informed.
One of you must have the answer to this bizarre problem.
And Kate, Sorry again for using this space this way.

  3. It’s been a while since I signed up with Google, but it seems they want to sell you an app before they let you access the free stuff. That way they have your credit card info and it’s easy for you to buy more stuff. Just remember, a lot of the “free” apps aren’t free. You may have to put up with ads, extraneous battery drain, access to your contact list, etc.

  4. Nice work Robert. I’ve been doing HDR photography for a number of years and this photo is just outstanding!
