  1. “stupid does not cover it. “
True but we’re not talking about you here. Try to keep up.
“A cheaper plane allows for more planes, and guess wot, you don’t have to place all of them in one place.”
No a cheaper plane means that the same number of cheaper, less capable, sooner to be obsolete, planes are bought. One has to be a complete and utter moron to believe that liberals will compensate for the inferior quality of their planes with quantity. Nope, they will declare that the SuperStopgap is great and buy as many of them as they would otherwise buy of 5th gen aircraft.
“And as to nobody wants, just more of your bullshit, USN is happy to fly them.”
More bovine excrement. USN never wanted it in the first place, they had it rammed down their throats when A-12 was cancelled and they needed something to replace aging F-14 airframes. So they bought it because there was nothing else at the time. Coincidently that also meant that USN lost meaningful interception capability and have been relegated to air-to-mud while Eagles and lately Raptors flew CAS for them ever since.
“Also we need craft that meet our needs, “
Which is why you just mentioned USN, because Canadian needs are pretty much the same as USN’s. Moron.
“not fancy units to brag about. “
Brag about? OMG, again you’re right, “stupid does not cover it” how about playing catch up? SuperStopgap is inferior to aircraft fielded by US, UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. It is roughly on par with newest (decade old) Polish and Hungarian latest fighters. It is also inferior to newest Russian and Chinese designs. Let this sink in.
“The A10 if fine example of specific mission design that works real good at what it was intended for, “
And that despite wishes of fan boys will soon be retired and Canadians will never fly them. Period, get over it.
“YOUR 35 would suck at those missions.”
My F-35? Ugh ok then. It will be everyone’s F-35, it will be the plane that will replace F-16s in two thirds of NATO’s inventories, a plane for which upgrades will be offered decades after the last SuperStopgap was retired.
SuperStopgap is to F-35 what latest F-104s and F-4s were to F-16.

read that you fool, and it lays it out well, even you, and maybe Paul from Calgary will be able to understand it too. The Israelis don’t want to buy the 35 because the USA would retain all programming of the avionics, read, dictated what armaments to be used, and they don’t trust the USA for that, they want to install their own avionics because of that, and just so the USA can tell them they are staying on deck. That’s rite smart boy, they can remotely shut them down. And again there is a good example, the French refused to give the argintine AF the codes for their exocet anti ship missile during the Falkland war. Butt dummy, read the article I linked, and you’ll be a little better informed.
    You really are stupid!!!!

  3. So after having all your bs refuted you now switch to the “F-35 is bad” story?
Your article states that all aircraft I mentioned above are better but SuperStopgap is cheap. Ugh ok. No problems with that. But wait for it, it also states that if the liberals promise to purchase other things as well (and keep their premise, because they would never break it, cross my hart hope to die) then SuperStopgap will not be that bad. Excellent, so just trust liberals and it will be smooth sailing. I am sure we do not need to worry that on the first occasion they will reduce the number of SuperStopgap airframes to the projected F-35 number and that will be the end of things. It is really embarrassing when morons like you try to argue from the position of self proclaimed authority.

  4. The U.S. Air Force has decided to indefinitely postpone the retirement of the legendary A-10 Thunderbolt II ground attack plane.

No personal insults needed. Facts destroy the credibility of blowhards who use every discussion as a vehicle for pointless personal attacks. They know fully well that the same attitude at the local pub would get a well deserved shit-kicking, so they only attack from behind the safety of their keyboard.

  5. his point is you don’t get it. Canada could not afford to develop the Arrow, and they can’t afford 120 35s, and just so you may just get “it”, 120 planes are a joke for a country with the geographic size of Canada. The 18 holds the same pluses as buy already in use types that they are flying. Get your head out of your ass!!
My main concern that the purchase of 35 brings, is that the USA can completely dictate how and when they are used, and with what armament they are supplied, the very same concerns the Israelis have. With the 15s, the Israelis install their own avionics and supply their own ordinance, period. Also the USA can shut down the some of the avionics while these planes are in the air. Do you understand the word sovereign???? No asshole, we don’t need the capabilities of the 35, we need more planes. Both super cruise and stealth are redundant for what we need, thus an needless expense. The A10 is a perfect example of a purpose designed platform, that does it’s job very well, all without the attributes of the 35. Your ability to grasp the essence of this discussion is in question. I really know very little about the 35, it’s bugs and it’s pros, but that is not in question, Canada’s needs are in question. As to your statement of “slower than our current”, and so is the 35, and with 600 mile stand off capability, who needs stealth. Just send and go home to Tim’s for a coffee. Try grasping what air defense is all about. The Russkies and Chicom’s aren’t sending their top units here to fight, and if they do Canada will have to play second fiddle to the USA AF. You really are stupid!!!

  6. Ok one last time for the cheap sheets where the short bus contingent was seated: my argument is against SuperStopgap which is inferior to every alternative it is not an argument for F-35 being the optimal choice. “F-35 being optimal” is a strawman that you have been consistently re-creating and defeating in turns with John to your little retarded hearts’ content. F-35 is better than SuperStopgap just that, so are Typhoon, Rafale and Strike Eagle. Your idea of sovereignty (“No asshole”) is to buy inferior and hope that someone else bails us out if chicoms or ruskie use their, newer than Cold War, toys.
Second point, equally simple, is that you are not going to get any more SuperStopgaps than you would get more capable planes. This is just your fantasy that you have concocted in order to further motivate SuperStopgap because you really really hate the F-35.
There, if you don’t get it, sorry I cannot make it any simpler, or use words with fewer syllables.
In any case, your entertainment value is wearing thin so I am done with you.

  7. Doesn’t touch on the fact that decisions on F 35 targetting have to be approved by USAF. That is a problem for the Israeli Air Force.

  8. No way FA18 is a stopgap; it would be our fighter acquisition. We cannot afford to buy it and the CF35. Let’s get real. BTW at this time, the FA18 costs at least as much per plane as the CF35, with 200 in service now.
