  1. found this in my wanderings:
I’ve got nothing against God, it’s his fanclub I can’t stand.
    bunch of narcissistic hypocrites.

  2. We have Trudeau’s antics in the HOC, his getting physical and his elbowing incident, then our Ambassador to Ireland, Kevin Vickers getting physical with a protester, we may be building as reputation as the a nation of bouncers.

  3. “There may be a cultural element. You have to remember the refugees are coming from an entirely different world,”
No *hit, Sherlock! I guess the road to enlightenment starts with a single step. We must be grateful for small mercies.

  4. The Left: The world isn’t the way we think it should be, we must change it.
The Right: The world is as it is; let’s make the best of it.

  5. “There may be a cultural element” Does Mr. McCallum want to be more specific about what the cultural element might be. McCallum may not be overly concered, but I believe the food banks are. If the Syrians are being given enough money for food, they should not be raiding the food banks and the government should be explaining how our culture works if this is the result of cultural confusion.

  6. Ace of Spades finally gets it. It’s very strange to me though because I was under the impression that he did get it before. The guy has posted many times about things he’s heard listening to Rush Limbaugh etc. For example, I know for a fact that both Lance and Kate know what’s up.
Anyway required reading I think for anyone who maybe doesn’t understand exactly what we’re dealing with here.

  7. There is an outstanding essay posted at Gates of Vienna which gives background on the politics behind the recent Presidential election in Austria. (A very narrow win for the globalist/pro-immigration cause after mail in ballots were tallied.) The essay makes it clear that there is an emerging totalitarian impulse happening in Europe and that liberal democracies are seriously threatened. It is a useful read to get a fix on how totalitarian rule happens. It is most definitely happening in Europe and in my view happening elsewhere as well.

I think a certain amount of similar “group think” (fostered by leftist special interests and Soros dollars) explains some aspects of the recent Canadian election.

  8. They know how our culture works: “stupid kafir gives us free $hit” their response is equally simple and predictable: “take as much as you can carry or it will be wasted on kafir” there, nothing more to it.

  9. Liberal government narrowly misses posting surplus for 2015/16.
“Joe Oliver: The Liberals spent $9B in a single month, just so they could say there was a deficit.”
First, without that huge splurge in March, it would have been impossible for the Liberals to continue pretending that the previous government had left them a deficit, given that the budget was in surplus when they took power and in every subsequent month right up till the last one.”
How they managed to get that to nearly $30b for this FY will be covered later?

  10. “Notley said their actions prove the Wildrose is not ready to govern.”
I didn’t realize that Notley was a comedienne. I realize that a sense of humour is not part of the socialist makeup but such a stupid statement had to have been made in jest. Right?

  11. Veggie burgers more problematic than meat burgers
It wasn’t just Listeria-related recalls that made May a tough month for veggie burgers.
A California biotech company, Clear Labs, also issued a “Hamburger report” that provides comparative data for veggie burgers. “Veggie burger products are almost twice as problematic as the overall sample set that we tested,” Clear Labs co-founder Mahni Ghorashi says.
Compared to the meat-based burgers, he says the veggie versions have the most cases of missing ingredients, including a black bean burger that had no black beans, and higher rates for pathogens and hygienic problems (like rat DNA and human DNA). Two of the veggie burgers (out of 89) contained trace amounts of beef.

  12. Some useful facts for the global warming nutters:

Far too many people supporting carbon taxes and accepting the AGW theory have never even bothered to look at the strong logical arguments countering this myth. It is demoralizing to see how many journalists just swallow the kool aid without investigating the arguments. Steve Paikin is an example. He has had a number of shows recently promoting renewable and the theory itself is never questioned. The enthusiasm with which people like Wynne and Notley and Trudeau the Lesser are latching onto the idea of carbon taxes sends a strong signal that this is about politics — not science.

  13. The Wild Roses will never govern if they can’t get their act together any better than this latest episode demonstrates.
Not unlike thr rest of Canada Alberta is a very progressive place.
If the so called ‘conservatives’ can’t get past social issues like this latest bone headed move forget about the 2019 election.
Remember the 40+ years of uninterrupted conservative rule in Ontario following WW11? What has happened since? The Mike Harris years and then…..
Yeah that’s right – nothing. The same thing is on the table in Alberta.
The so called conservatives have one shot to get their act together. If they fail Alberta can look forward to years of Bob Rae Kathleen Wynne types for a long time.

  14. Letter I sent to Wildrose party after Fildebrant’s comments
Do not apologize, backtrack, be politically correct or change statements made in your legislature by Dereck Fildebrant. You in Wildrose have nothing to be embarrassed or ashamed about. Wynne has destroyed Ontario yet continues to pile on debt, taxes, charges like cap and trade, the proposed pension plan and everything else to continue to kill Ontario’s economic, social, environmental and political future.
We have 3.6, primarily retail, private sector employees now to 1 public. 80% of Toronto Police make over $100k will 90% of non government employees make less than $100k. Just an example of staggering government cost to the province. As you are aware our energy costs are out of sight and when Trump is elected you will not need Ontario as he will approve your needed pipelines.
In my projection you will be the next government in Alberta so stand strong and have the political courage to face disasters like Wynne and say what has to be said. Ontario is dying and Alberta must pick up the torch again. Do not back down.

  15. I still smile whenever I think of Homer’s line to Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins:
Homer: You know my kids think you’re the greatest, and thanks to your gloomy music they’ve finally stopped dreaming of a future I can’t possibly provide.
Billy Corgan: Well we try to make a difference.

  16. Sorry about the house.
BUT……Brian Jean is not the real deal.
He is SOOOO stiff in front of a mic.
I suspect he is just collecting pensions:
    As a Provincial Lawyer.
    As an MP.
As a MLA, w bonus party leader.
    Thats what I think.

  17. The the Dinosaur Watch.
    H/T The the Media Party.

  18. But it’s only “totalitarian” if it comes from the right. The leftists would never do such a thing, would they?

  19. Ironic, isn’t it when the totalitarianism on the left is destroying our democracy. Leftism =’s totalitarianism. One commentor at Gates of V. observed that the strategies being used in Europe are exactly the same as those used by the Nazi’s — shutting down alternative voices, no dialogue tolerated. That is happening in Canada as well. You will not recognize our country before Trudeau is done.
