Really a tale of two very different men. Justin Trudeau wants all of Canada to pay for his vanity projects. Meanwhile it is reported that Stephen Harper is getting ready to step down for a life outside of politics.
Brian speaks with; – Warren Kinsella. – Monte Solberg about Harper stepping down.

Rumor has it Stephen Harper is to take an executive position with Power Corporation.
I can’t imagine Harper joining Power Corp. Nice piece by John Ivison in the Post re Harper moving on. Canada will not see a better Prime Minister in my lifetime. That he was so vilified by the left stands as a black marking our collective psyche. We can now all witness the dismantling of Canada by the Liberals — many getting what they asked for.
Don;
Power Corp is a Liebel stronghold. Has been for decades.
I admit some confusion that Harper has not been talking to Canadians since his defeat. I find it insulting and an abandonment of the cause. Who knows what goes on behind closed doors but the optics are not good to my eye.
By their actions you shall know them.
I will wait and see.
If this is unfounded slander,as Power Corporation is the heart of our kleptocracy, then I am happy to see the Media Guild still fear Steven Harper.
If true…
More proof that a democracy lost to kleptocracy cannot be reformed.
Either way.
Beyond Reform..Exterminate the Parasites who leech the life from society.
The collective has no brain.
Never has.
Never will.
yet the insanity continues, the collective knows better than each individual, what their best interests shall be.
Only a truly brainless organism can maintain such hubris.
I am not sure in what context you think Harper should be talking to Canadians. Likely he provides advice to the Conservative caucus. I think it is entirely appropriate that he keep a low profile at this time. In fact, to do otherwise would undermine Rona Ambrose. He will deliver a speech at the Vancouver convention.
Aah, the faux-cons are in town, no wonder such a chill has set in after months of warmth. Some would say it’s faux-con cold out.
And Brian Mulroney also worked for them. Don’t worry about correcting me on Power Corporation, they’ve been on my radar for over thirty years.
Power Corp. vets the guys who run for PM,along with a few other of the Canadian establishment bigs. After election, the new PM goes the “The Lodge”,of K.C.Irving,there to be told the rules of the Club he has just joined.
I was being sarcastic with my Harper -PC comment, but frankly, wouldn’t be shocked if he DID take a position with them.
Both Parties represent the Eastern Establishment, once in a while we get a guy who recognizes that the West exists, but that’s about all we can expect.
Harper was a better PM than Justin Trudeau will turn out to be, as would my dead border collie, but the last two years of his majority,it became obvious he was thoroughly “Ottawashed”,and had learned the lesson of exactly who he was there to serve.
Just to bring the comments back to the heading of Trudeau. Why did he have to specifically mention that he was going to have a moment with his wife on personal funds? In other words he had to clarify that he and not the Canadian taxpayer was paying for his wife’s dinner. Is this supposed to elicit some sympathy for the hardship of the sacrifice he must make as the PM in taking his wife out for supper in a foreign country?
I agree with both comments. I am also not sure what he would tell Canadians at this time. I recall that he did talk to Canadians during his talk on election night after accepting defeat.
I hope that he does not join Power Corp. as this organization is what actually runs Canada. The rest of us are just cannon fodder to be duped into thinking we have a voice.
I think it may be related to Libs and NDP always questioning Harper’s expenses (which were always fine), but remember every time the guy took a short break: “Did you pay for those hockey tickets?” The left is so petty. So, as a Liberal, Trudeau wishes to assure us that butter wouldn’t melt in his mouth. They think Conservatives are as petty as they are.
Harper’s done far more than enough for Canada. His leadership showed heart, wisdom, intellect and fairness. He stood out as the World’s best leader. The only one strong and capable enough to put the expansionist bully Putin back on his heels. The only consistent source of Western support for Israel (although Jews back here in Canada inexplicably gave their support to non-Conservative parties). Harper is someone we all can be proud of. A shining example.
Now it’s time for someone else to pick up the helm.
