Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

And apparently, Bolshevik Bernie has beaten Hillary in Indiana.
Si se puede!
Yes, the people are really ticked at the establishment.
Well, the die is cast, unless the party brass try to pull a fast one. Let the games begin.
The ultimate contest, the free enterprise guy and the communist.
Cruz just bailed.
Great resolution….Now on to the main event! 🙂
With her super delegates it looks like Hillary 43-42 beats Bernie even though he wins the popular vote (53-47). Isn’t that what bothers Donald?
Hillary skipped Indiana because of COST…She is having problems finding anyone stupid enough
to fund a dud….All that money down the rabbit hole when the FBI comes calling…..
The FBI must move fast now that Trump is the winning Nominee.
RNC Chairman Reince Priebus: “Donald Trump Will Be The Presumptive GOP Nominee”
Despite this: Katie Packer – Former Romney aide and founder of Our Principles PAC says:
We still have money in the bank and this gig pays well so we will continue to undermine Donald Trump despite Cruz’s withdrawal.
I’m paraphrasing, of course.
Booed in West Virginia?
This is the silly bitch who boasted she’s going to put a lot of coal miners out of work.
She handed WV to Trump on a platter.
I gotta head south of the 49th with a whole bunch of moving vans for all the disgruntled who harumph harumph are moving out of the country lead by a dude named Trump.
hey, how often has an American entertainment personality successfully gone into politics?
– Sonny Bono
– Clint Eastwood
– Jesse Ventura
– the dude from ‘Loveboat’
– Ronald Reagan
– Ahnold
numerous others no doubt. get ready to add one more.
No! No! NO! NO! NO!!!
I feel like my head is going to explode!!
What a terrible day. First one of Bill Clinton’s lovers, Sally Miller, says Bill Clinton has a small penis–and now this!
I will go comfort myself with some videos of Hillary’s calm soothing voice, while waiting for Peter Mansbridge’s report on this horrific news!
Anybody else who can’t wait to hear how President Trump rips a new one for Justine.
“Bad news on the horizon for the Clinton Foundation and those in Australia who have shovelled money into it”

The free enterprise guy? Seriously? You should do some research. All of you Trumpidians are going to be really disappointed.
Well, Mr. Cruz … Mr. Beck … it appears as though your “righteous God” let you down. Yes, Trump won the “evangelical vote”. You see, EVERY Christian is offended when you claim “your God” demands a vote for Cruz. No he doesn’t. God IS free will. God GAVE man dominion and control over himself. YOU don’t get to declare that YOU are God’s chosen path … because you aren’t.
And you know what … you can go right ahead and be #NeverTrump … right to the bitter end. But you are going to discover that you are an insignificant blip on the radar. The people have spoken … and SHrillary is gonna be the next carcass kicked to the curb. TRUMP 2016 !!!!!!!!
I’m not a “Trumpidian” and I doubt ken is either, just recognize that he’s the better of the candidates still around.
Conservative? Not likely, and I don’t give a sh**, as long as it’s anybody BUT Hillary in the WH come Jan./17.
Tons of “conservatives”,including the bunch at NRO have disappointed me with their anti-Trump rhetoric, and that’s why the progressives win so often while we beat the hell outta each other before the election even starts.
Trump,or anybody else who claims to be NOT a member of the Alinskyite destroy America cabal that runs the Democrat Party right now, is fine by me.
Trump had better increase his security detail by about double, there’s likely to be a bitter left-wing lunatic out there who’s about to take a shot at him.
Do you have a relative, Mary Cloggenstein from Brattleboro, VT, by any chance, Progressive Pat who comments often at Ace of Spades HQ? I’m just wondering?
🙂
Now it’s time to here about how Cruz totally would have beaten Hilary despite not being able to beat Trump. Because reasons.
But … But … But … We also learned that Billy Bob Jefferson Clinton compensated for his shortcomings by becoming a very “attentive lover”. I can only imagine that he had to gargle some mouthwash before returning home to Hillary. Otherwise she might get jealous. And Billy Bob did this over and over and over and over …
Exactly true! It’s as simple as ABC. Anyone But Clinton. She was bad enough as President with her controlling that Meat Puppet Billy the first time around, and she’s only gotten meaner with age.
I just heard it on the John Batchelor Show podcast that I’m listening to right now.
That is not me. But Trump would be a horrible president!
He has said he will boot out the non-documented (don’t call them illegals!!) immigrants!
He has said he will build a wall on the US/Mexico border! He wants to prevent people from the Religion of Peace to enter the country unless they are vetted!
He wants to bring manufacturing jobs back!
He wants to crush TPP!
He wants to revise NAFTA in the USA’s favor!
He wants to reverse the trade deficit!
He is not politically correct!!!!!!!
He wants to rebuild the military!
He wants to make other our rich countries to start paying for their own defense!
He wants to get rid of Common Core!
And perhaps worst of all, he wants to defund Planned Parenthood!!!!!
Butt-hurt comments just aren’t that becoming.
http://heavy.com/news/2016/05/ted-rafael-cruz-dead-father-lee-harvey-oswald-jfk-kennedy-assasination/
A sleazy allegation to be sure, quoting the National Enquirer as your source; Trump could have raised the bar, but this was definitely low road.
http://www.breitbart.com/video/2016/05/03/levin-fnc-a-trump-super-pac-theyll-be-rubbing-their-own-faces-in-their-own-feces-after-the-general/
He then turned to that day’s tiff between Trump and Cruz, and criticized the FNC program “Outnumbered” for not giving the context of the fight between the two, that Trump had accused Cruz’s father of being linked to JFK assassin Lee Harvey Oswald. He further said that, according to a friend of his who contacted him, another program, “The Five,” didn’t bring up Trump’s Oswald-Rafael Cruz theory until over 20 minutes past the hour. Levin continued, “Donald Trump is bringing up a National Enquirer story that accuses Ted Cruz’s father, Rafael Cruz, of being in cahoots, in one way or another, with Lee Harvey Oswald.” Levin further stated that, according to his source, “several of the people on ‘The Five’ thought this was hilarious.
Whatever, Ted Cruz’s shortcomings linking the family to the assassin of JFK, Lee Harvey Oswald is completely ‘over the top’. That ain’t national discourse, it’s simple slagging and slander with a generous heaping portion of BS.
Next we’ll find Jimmy Hoffa in the Cruz family backyard…that was just plain stupid.
Enjoy the win Mr. Trump.
Cheers

Make a will.
Outstanding, now I have at least until November to mock Trumpets. But I really want him to win. No, I mean it. I do. Really. He will still be better than either of the communists running from the other side. Plus seeing Trumpets struggle with cognitive dissonance for the following four years will be priceless.
LOL – I was thinking something very similar to this.
You know what’s sad, though? Once Trump shows his supporters that he’s a left-leaning Democrat who has no intention of getting within three zip codes of conservative ideals, that he supports amnesty (YES, people – he’s said so during his campaign – UGH!), Obamacare, etc., many of them will still bend over backwards to justify his ‘reasons’… even if they have to make them up.
If Trump – by some miracle – manages a conservative turnaround in the nation, I’ll be the first to say I was wrong, and happy to be so. Sadly, I expect it’s far more likely I’ll be wearing out the keys for “I told you so”.
That’s assuming he wins the election, of course. There’s always the possibility that his entire plan is to tank his campaign and throw the election to his good friend Hillary.
My only comfort is that I wasn’t expecting much out of a President Cruz, either. What we really need right now is another Calvin Coolidge, preferably one who’s also militant about border control.
Well said. Read my Reader Tips by F. Buckley as to why the US is ready for a Trump.
Hans, you are right. It was a classless blow.
Man has creaturely freewill; he has no dominion over himself. See Ephesians 1, Romans 9, John 6, John 17.
Now a comment for my comrades over at the FBI.
Get your ass in gear and bring charges against Hillary(crook)Clinton or President Trump will be hanging it out on a tall flag pole.
The civilian job market looks pretty slim right now..
I don’t think anyone expects Trump to be a conservative, but since no one else in the Republican party is what difference does it make? My take on this is that it is burning the organization to the ground so that rebuilding can begin. The Republicans have controlled the house and senate for two years, and what have they done with it? Nothing. They could have had Obama impeached many times over and Hillery in jail. Instead they basically sided with the dems on everything. There is nothing to lose anymore.
Cruz said he would stay in the race until the republican convention?
Then we have a story about his father and lee Harvey Oswald ?
http://tinyurl.com/zqonl76
Now Cruz drops out of the race ??
–
The conspiracy nuts are going to be falling off tall Canadian trees..
Your list is wishful thinking.
Trump supports Big Gov.
He has expressed support for Planned Parenthood and Obamacare.
And like the current crop of Republican leaders lwants to work with Dems so I wonder just how different he really will be.
Cruz would have been better.
Still stopping illegal criminals and psychotic muslims would be a step in the right direction.
The word progressive carries a tyrannic stench. Sarc right?
People do not understand what is at stake in the political battle in the U.S. It is a battle to save western civilisation. The U.S. is the bulwark against the barbarians. If we have a couple more administrations like we have just had then the battle will be over and we will have lost.
Trump understands this. If he does not win he will have zero power. But, in order to combat the rot that has infested the U.S. political, academic and managerial elites, it is vital that he wins the presidency. Absolutely vital! Ted Cruz presented the only obstacle to that win. Trump’s only goal at this point was to get rid of Cruz – by any means, fair or foul.
People are saying that the story about Ted Cruz’s dad was beyond the pale. They don’t get it. That it was false was precisely the point. Cruz is a tough nut. But his Achilles heel was his love for his father. Cruz thought that because his dad was a good man that this made him invincible to attack. Trump’s attack on his dad showed him otherwise. Cruz, in his deliberations after yesterday’s loss had to weigh his improbable success against the damage Trump’s continued attacks would have on Cruz’s father and possibly the rest of his family. Cruz found out the hard way that, at the end of the day, Trump would stop at nothing in order to win. Cruz caved to Trump’s will.
Trump does this, not because he is a bad man, but because he understands what’s at stake. Hurt feelings during a war are just so much emotional lint. All of this looks very ugly. War is ugly. If you are waging war and it is not ugly then you are not doing it right. God help us if war ever becomes civilised. God help us if war ever becomes a gentleman’s pursuit. Because, if it ever does, it will war all the time and we will never know peace.
The existing two party system has been electing hard core wing-nuts who are deeply soaked in apposing ideology. This has resulted in a Congress locked in a dysfunctional death spiral.
Electing a “Hard Core” Republican is NOT desirable until the log-jam has been removed and normal function returns to the Congress….
Trump has the desire and ability to break that mold by focusing on the issues that have damaged America….The Congress desperately needs his leadership.
JMHO
Exactly right minuteman.
Lance and Glenn Beck on suicide watch! LOL
The fear and loathing continues.
projecting your expectations upon Trump is kinda stupid.
Those opposed and suspicious of Trumps motives, fair enough, he is a politician now.
But why does Trump feel the need to run for the presidency?
What will he gain that being Trump Billionaire, Business Tycoon does not already provide?
Why would any sane man give up near retirement to take on that heavy burden of responsibility ?
Unlike the current community organizer,a businessman is aware of the responsibilities power carries.
What is in this for Trump?
This is why I tend toward believing the act put out by Showman Trump, even a very rich grandfather can see where civilization is headed..and even the most ignorant person in North America can see, our politicians are useless and clueless against the parasitic state they have enabled.
I predict Trumps campaign, all those who oppose him are the problem.
Hillary , the Democrats & GOP are the problem not the solution.
Packaged by Trump, this is an election winning meme.
It surprises me that the DNC has not fallen blindly behind Clinton. Obviously Bernie’s uncosted promises appeals to many people as does Trump’s. IMHO Clinton is very vulnerable to a portion of traditional DNC supporters moving to Trump.
The campaign should be fascinating TV. The results might not be as entertaining. The World has assumed the USA will continue bank rolling their economies, especially Canada. Trump might continue this but the cost will go up. NAFTA will be ‘adjusted’. Short the CDN$.
“People are saying that the story about Ted Cruz’s dad was beyond the pale. They don’t get it. That it was false was precisely the point. ” I was not aware that the story was proven false, even though Raphael Cruz denies that the person in the picture is he. Trump’s issue — and I think well taken — is that there is no media investigation of the claim. Why exactly not? I think it is highly likely Raphael is the man in the picture next to Oswald, but any connection to the assassination is indeed more murky. There is a fair bit of evidence that Oswald himself was a patsy (I believe he was). He was, however, a CIA agent. The issue to be investigated here is whether or not Raphael is also. If yes, I think that is significant, given the range of unlawful activities carried out by the CIA over the years.
Oswald in the picture is handing out pro-Cuban leaflets, I believe. This was a CIA assignment and a false flag that would later add fuel to the claim that Oswald killed Kennedy because of his patriotic feelings towards the (at that time) new fragile Communist regime. Do some background reading. The myths regarding the Kennedy assignation are mostly false. The media needs to determine if Raphael is the person in the picture — and if yes, he needs to be open about his CIA background.
Sure and walk on water too.
“The media needs to determine if Raphael is the person in the picture — and if yes, he needs to be open about his CIA background.”
The assassination of JFK was supposedly (some claimed) because JFK failed to support the CIA in their failed “Bay of Pigs” invasion. That would be VERY strange indeed if Raphael Cruz was one of the CIA trained Cubans & was close to Oswald.
Cruz was wise to pull out; Kasich too, who joins him in withdrawal later today. They both strongly signaled for unity, now joined by RNC chair Priebus.
This leaves lots of times for forgiveness and consolidation against the formidable Dem ground game and their penchant for media sponsored memes.
The GOP still has to get it’s crap straight. Crying about Trump not being conservative enough boggles the mind. The GOP elects libertarians and then expects them to act as conservatives? Romney’s milquetoast conservatism was stealth libertarianism. Dubya – just look at his debt run up. It’s never good idea to leave the independents to the other party while eating your own; that’s what Republicans have done in recent POTUS elections.
Forget ideology, voters don’t have a clue. Talk about American, not conservative values, like “make America great again.” Simple, patriotic, resonating.
If I were a US voter, I’d prefer the populist therefore non-ideological nationalism of Trump any day over the triumvirate of a statist Presidency, Congress and Supreme Court. Having said that, this will not be easy; Trump has a lot of work to do with women and Hispanics in particular.
Now we will see just how good a dealmaker he is.
As for Hillary, here’s my take: “If preferring to get some sleep and not pulling Obama off the campaign trail gets people killed, deal me in.” “If gambling with national secrets is more “convenient” for me, then roll the dice.”
I doubt the USA could withstand another term or two of the Dem’s great leap leftward, where productive capabilities are continually undermined but mediocrity and dependence celebrated and rewarded, fed by the corruption of false narratives.
We’re going to see an all-in progressive or bust effort from the entire intelligentsia, content with their college degrees, that (better educated than they) Trump and his supporters are political cretins. Make no mistake, to win the game, Trump must also beat the “referees.”
Yeah yeah yeah that is why the GOP nominee is an authoritarian statist who supports sensible gun control, sensible infanticide, open borders, reasonable restrictions on free speech and so on. What’s not to like? Enjoy him Trumpets, it will be fun watching you choke trying not to vomit in your mouths too much for the next four years.
You want reconciliation? When Tariff Trump enacts first conservative/libertarian policy you’ll get reconciliation.
Romneycare a typical stealth libertarian policy. LOL.
Hi Don;
The most fun part of Trump as presumptive nominee is watching the ‘hair on fire’ approach of Hillary’s surrogates who host the Legacy News in the US. Too much fun for one political junkie.
I’ve been a Trumpeter in the sense that I tried early in the process to understand his appeal. Never having subscribed to cable television I used the internet to understand him. A listener to free radio I have heard about him through second-hand sources who quote him out of context and very brief snippets from television outside my home.
Early on in the nomination process I was pointed to Scott Adam’s Blog and became ‘persuaded’ that Trump had a chance to win. Since then I’ve been trying to understand how he is so successful and explain it to those who care.
So in that sense I have been a Trumpeter. Like Scott Adams, I disavow oodles of Trump’s activities and policies.
Probably would vote for him though now that Cruz is gone.
@Colonialista: Sounds to me like you are in stage 1 verging on 2 (anger). You and Oz both (Trumpets & Trumpanzees …. oh so clever). Don’t worry. You’ll be at stage 5 by the actual election.
Trump’s rise has surprised 16 other candidates, the entire Republican establishment, and the entire MSM. And apparently you too. He’s not done yet. He’s a winner and he never lets anyone forget it.
@Shamrock: “Forget ideology, voters don’t have a clue. Talk about American, not conservative values, like “make America great again.” Simple, patriotic, resonating.” Good comment. I agree.
@Kenji: “attentive lover”….. made me laugh.
The Dilbert article is great, but at the end he says something…well… I think he is wrong.
He says Trump or some of his supporters provided mexicans with flags.
Well… people who are pro-illegal, pro-amnesty and all that always wave large mexican flags when they protest, this is nothing new, they have been doing that for many many years, they were doing it before Trump ran for president.
I think Dilbert’s theory about the mexican flags is interesting but very likely… wrong.
Oh yes, absolutely, he is a winner. Just not for the side you think he is. All is good though, no surprises on my side. I have predicted him winning many months ago, I also expect him to win the presidency. All my past comments regarding your glorious winner are on the record and unlike him I do not change my opinions. I want him to win the presidency. He will be better (i.e. f*** think up less) then Hitlery. I got no delusions who he is and what he believes in, you do. Like I said above, seeing Trumpets struggle with cognitive dissonance for the following four years will be priceless.
Hans, I’m surprised that conservatives would disregard this ‘story’ out of hand. Wayne Masden is in the process of investigating the allegations; he hasn’t completed his findings yet.
‘Curious’ is my middle name, which is why I’m an avid reader. Ted Cruz’s father was a rotter, or bounder, as Oz would say, when Ted was growing up. He and Ted’s mother split up for a while.
Ted mentioned the eldest Bush President in his concession speech; his campaign finance officer was Neil Bush. Ted worked for George W. Bush on policy. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that Ted’s father, Rafael Cruz, knew Lee Harvey Oswald. I was completely turned off by Rafael Cruz declaring that those who know the Word of God would have to vote for Cruz. Nowhere in the Bible is Ted Cruz mentioned.
No sympathy for the Cruz-ers. You supported crap candidates since Reagan and have conserved nothing in Western Civ since. You let it all fall to crap. Now you get Trump for your constant failures.
If you want to blame anyone for Trump winning then blame the GOP for failing consistency for near 30 years to give a candidate willing to conserve something for once. The people have had it with them not doing anything to stop the disintegration of the western world.
Maybe next time you’ll run a candidate who actually wants to beat the Democrats. But considering how hard the GOP wanted to get rid or Reagan when he was around, that’s probably never going to happen.
