  3. OMG, are we in trouble or what!! Talk like this is what gives them encouragement, they are laughing all the way to their next killing spree, terrorist style attacks on innocent people. We can’t be smug here in Canada, we have a Mickey Mouse government that has no clue what the hell is going on let alone how to deal with it. The Liberal Cabal is too busy undoing as much of the Conservative government’s policies, that’s their prime and urgent concern. We are not safe, we are not in good hands, the bad guys will be picking up on it.

Now the story is out that these Muslim fanatics had people working at the Belgium nuclear plants. Of course nothing could go wrong with that.
    Worst Press-ident in US history. He only babbles to get himself on TV and in the NYT. If ISIS isn’t such a threat why does he keep giving the OK for drone hits on their membership. Why doesn’t he just cut and run like all Democrats have since the Korean War?

  8. ISIS might not be, we can defeat them on the battlefield if we want to. Islam, however is an existential threat. In about two generations muslims will be the majority in the western world, and it will go the same way as the rest of the western world. Muslims will do to our grand children what they have done to the christian population of the middle east, unless we grow a pair.

  9. Has it ever occured to the Western World why people of the all encompassing Islam faith are streaming into the West from the ME and elsewhere? It’s not because they love our way of life, it’s too far removed. If that’s not it has anyone figured out what it might be?
    Canada is the perfect draw with the Charter and multiculturalism policies that allow people to live as they did from whence they came, no questions asked. We will become a mosaic, stand for nothing, nothing to fight for as a strong unified country.
    Long past time to wake up and judging by the voting pattern we’ve seen in the country we are sleep walking to doomsday. It will take a while,just like the Socialist creep that has arrived full force. Ontario is a prime example of that.

  10. Frankly I tend to agree with him: I don’t think the Islamic State is an existential threat to the United States per se.
    The main problem I personally have with his statement is: why say it? What’s the point? How does it reassure Americans or help in any way? It more or less amounts to telling folks:
    “Sure, we’re going to have to endure continuing terrorist attacks from ‘ISIL’ but the good news is that even if you’re killed at the airport tomorrow by a suicide bomber, the existence of the US itself isn’t threatened.”
    That’s cold comfort. I don’t get it at all.
    More lame-duck philosophizing in his final days at the White House perhaps?
    The Islamic State is an outrage. It should be viewed as an affront to everything we hold dear in Western civilization and comprehensively crushed in a focussed and bloody-minded manner.
    (Still, there is one useful aspect to the Islamic jihadists: they manage to make a complete mockery of just about every trendy, high-minded, progressive notion you can name. I doubt there’s too much discussion over empowering women, building trans-gender washrooms and creating safe spaces from micro-aggressions at the University of Mosul.

  11. Despite their best efforts, ISIS, likely the purest followers of their prophet, just can’t get the message across that Islam is the most retrograde force on the planet. Progressives are either slow learners or just too concrete-bound in nihilism to accept what they are shown (Jihad events) on a daily basis.

  21. It seems ISIS et al are doubling down on killing of Christians in the hope they can lure us into war with them. I say grant them their wish. I like what Trump said on this; deal with these terrorists or we will and send you the bill. If the US is to act as policeman, it will be on an invoiced basis. Sometimes one can only shake their head and laugh at the gross stupidity, as I posted in an earlier attempt at ironic humour:
    C’mon it would only be an existential threat if they actually managed to nuke us or launch a chemical weapons attack, or execute a multiple city attack worldwide. No need to worry about it or live in fear, nobody’s going to do anything about it anyway. That’s how you deal with terrorism, you do nothing. That way you don’t encourage more terrorists. We don’t want to help recruit more terrorists do we?
    Just leave them alone in their enclaves in Brussels, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Russia, USA(?), Iran, Afghanistan, Somalia, Nigeria, Yemen, and PLO areas. If we stop attacking them, we’ll get maybe one major attack a month. The good news is they’ll completely lose interest in unleashing an apocalyptic cleansing world war for the caliphate, so consequently no need for nukes or chemical weapons or AK47s. Well maybe they’ll keep the AK47s, for protection.
    No matter, there’s almost no chance of you actually being attacked. Well, there’s more chance of terrorists being inserted in Canadian military bases than an Islamist attack. Well, actually the odds there are pretty close, let’s say you’ve a better chance of being hit by a car wielding jihadist.
    Except when it really happens; then the odds are 100%. See how easy that is? Now go back to sleep.
