The writers attitude exactly matches the Sophomoric Foreign Policy of Obama-Clinton-Kerry … which is to lay-down arms and show love for our enemies. Hillary ran this experiment in Benghazi. With the predictable result.

The beauty of Jesus is that He saw things VERY clearly. He had and has the ability to see us for not what we are, but what we are meant to be with our redemptive nature. The potential each of us is capable of is amazing.
This journalist may have had a bit of a Jesus moment and recognized the humanity of Ali, but being an elitist and a progressive he was unable to see the evil for what it is. The twisted spirit this young man gave in to is the same form of his equally twisted and evil prophet, Mohammed, whom he replicated perfectly. Just as Mohammed slit the throats of his enemies (800 in one day alone) Ali has become a tool of this evil. He is only doing what the “prophet” instructs his followers to do, in its most radical form.
Not knowing who Sebastian Meyer is personally, I admire his being to see the “child soldier” as a human. I am disgusted that he refuses to write about the evil for what it is or he has had his article edited by the Washington Post’s propoganda machine. The progressive-left are on a mission to serve their master, and Christianity is their ultimate enemy.
This article is meant to pull the heart strings of the compassionate, but it will ignite the warriors of those who see this clearly for what it is. My heart is blazing!

I think there is greater truth to this than on the surface.
does one survive war by getting all charged up and angry and distracted when your buddy gets a big hole in his chest? or does the soldier truly dish out comeuppance by gaining resolve, determination, sharpened senses to find way to obliterate the enemy. cold, calculating, unrelenting, yield no corner. smash everything they have, burn their crops and kill their livestock and drag the people off to isolated camps until the battle is over.
then you can grieve, then you can ‘sort it out’. then you can publish a book of your experiences how you still think of your war buddies that didn’t come back.
but first you identify the enemy. you DON’T identify ‘with’ them.
