  2. my daddy with his grade 4 education raised a whole bunch of post secondary types including very successful business owners and a lawyer, made the sage observation (in relation to the vietnam war), that when the communists win a civil war, one of the first things they do is round up all the agitators, and by extension including their supporters and advocates in the lands they have now conquered, and, well, because communism NEVER tolerates agitators, would execute them or at the very least completely neutralize them. this in fact did happen in vietnam. when the war was over and the north took charge in the former south, their supporters and fighters in the south were pushed aside. the fundamental issue was, by betraying their own nation and people, they demonstrated a capability and mindset necessary to betray. unacceptable.
    this adage stuck with me these 50 odd years because it is so true and completely applicable to ANY manner of foreign invasion or ‘take over’.
    the 5th columnists are their own worst enemy wherever they are. they are nuts, illogical, and therefore unpredictable and untrustworthy and not to be tolerated or permitted to exist in the new regime.
    let me cite a historical example: google ernst rohm. arrested and executed the moment he was no longer useful to the very ones he helped put in power.
    this is precisely what we are seeing in europe where the floodgates are opened by the leftists and the enemy is welcomed with open arms. the naivete is sickening an verging on unprecedented at this scale if we consider the fact the biggest impact and change is in the native nation. at least in stalin’s time the intellectuals in the West, with their highly refined and complex marxist ideological arguments, were not then opening the floodgates to stalin’s forces. not so in europe. migod, it isn’t even their intellectuals doing it, its the god**mned elected governments !!!

    The left went off the rails DECADES ago. Hell, it is testament to the stupidity of Canadians that Turdo La Doo’s father got elected – and the kid is even more of a turd brain than his dad!
    Their loyalty and intellect were never in question as far as I am concerned – what is in question is: are we going to have to get the guns, the ropes, the pitchforks and torches out to make these idiots see the error of their ways?

    Regarding the question. The left has never been on America’s side, but has constantly worked to destroy everything America stands for; that being freedom and free enterprise.
    Horowitz is absolutely correct in the essay. Although he did forget to mention the arch Stalinist stooge and apologist New York Times journalist Walter Duranty.

    Because, INCUBATION!
    The glorious idea of heaven on earth is being incubated in admittedly imperfect human beings (heh, no one’s perfect). We must forgive these unavoidable imperfections in the people of the vanguard and preserve this glorious embryo at any cost. ANY COST.

That’s why they conspired to sell atomic bomb plans to the Soviets and cover up the plans of Stalin and keep America out of WW11 until the SOviet Union was attacked. When the Soviet Union was attacked they were all for going to war against Germany. before that, they were isolationist.

  10. First … congrats to your daddy for succeeding in the most difficult job in the world … successful parenting ! My personal experience (here in the Leftist SF Bay Area) is that Leftists are the most closed-minded people in the world who simply do NOT tolerate competing viewpoints. For a short while our local competitive soccer club had a president who happened to also be a semi-famous professor of Political Science at UC Berkeley. I was coaching in the club, and a group of parents and I were challenging a club policy as outdated and counterproductive. After months of unsuccessful lobbying to get our presidents attention, I finally sought him out on the practice field one day. I still recall his reaction to finally having to confront me about this issue … he spoke nothing about the issue at hand, but proceeded to browbeat me about even having the temerity to raise the issue. He was simply unwilling to entertain (in democratic fashion) a question about club policy. He went so far as to suggest that I was a psychopath … I was stunned by his reactionary response … but quickly put it into proper context. He was a hardcore leftist educator at one of the most leftist universities in America. He wasn’t club president much longer as his son soon left the club for reform school. He was as crappy a parent as he was a political leader … what better qualification for a tenured professor at a “top” University ? Yeah … leftists do NOT tolerate opposition

  12. Horowitz (along with Ron Radosh) excoriated Diana West and her great book “American Betrayal” for telling the truth about the Communists in FDR’s administration and the power positions they held even after that.
    Of course, he just couldn’t have that, being trumped by a “nobody” so he tried to crucify her (FDR being a hero to him and all…)
    He is an intellectual gnat compared to her.
