53 Replies to “Your Moral And Intellectual Superiors”

  1. Reposted from earlier and dead thread.
In my pre-Christian days, my reply to that tweet would be “When those ISIS refugees you wanted so much start spraying Toronto, I hope you’re one of those hit”…. But I guess I’m not quite that kinda person anymore.

  2. H’mmm. I’m thinking that once the current federal government begins to draw comparisons between the declining revenues at Canada Post and the declining revenues at the CBC it won’t much matter what people with HDS say anymore…

  3. What can you really say about a comment such as that? Immature? Certainly. Simpleminded? Without a doubt. Deranged? Good chance of that.
I can’t really imagine this twit’s celebration taking place unless the taxpayer buys the cake and pays for the party supplies.

  4. Twits Twitter.
Harper Derangement Syndrome will actually grow more insane.
Everytime their Boy child demonstrates his true ability, the hatred for Harper grows.
How dare you contrast our incompetent “leader”.
Secondly CBC is parasite central, any choking off of the flow will excite the greedy and useless.
    Kleptocracy Rules; Enjoy.

  5. One would never think such angry bile would lurk below his chatty little gardening spots on CBC Calgary.
And Harper isn’t even PM anymore.

  6. Perhaps Penner will die first. I guess he has not thought of that. With that possibility in mind, perhaps some Conservative-minded baker can start taking advance orders for cakes.

  7. When Stephen Harper dies, Lyndon Penner will still be a fat git who has lived off the wealth of Canada without ever contributing to it.

  8. Leftists absolutely HATE it when conservatives take away the INCREASES in their FREE STUFF ! Note how I didn’t say TAKE AWAY their FREE STUFF … because the conservatives don’t take it away … just SLOW the increase. And THAT is enough to garner VILE HATE speech from the unhinged left

  9. This will say a lot of the man-child

I am SO PROUD of my premier! I am so THRILLED that we as a province put @RachelNotley in charge!
Mennonite in name only…M(e)NO….lololol now that’s funny!!!!

  10. Since two posters asked where/how to complain, here’s what I sent in to:
    http://www.ombudsman.cbc.radio-canada.ca/en/contact-us/
    or you might also use:
    CBC Ombudsman ombudsman@cbc.ca
It was with dismay that I noted CBC columnist Lynden Penner posted the following tweet: “When Stephen Harper dies, I’m having a cake made & hosting a party.:”
While the comment is on his own twitter feed and has a disclaimer saying “Opinions are entirely my own”, he also identifies himself as a “CBC Columnist”. Such comments are uncalled for, unprofessional and frankly, disgusting. They reflect badly on your organization and given that my tax dollars pay a portion of his salary, I’m requesting that disciplinary action be taken.

  11. What’s disturbing and disturbed about this is the fact that Steven Harper in no way, shape or form deserves such vitriolic hatred.

  12. Penner is at least an honest liberal, something that’s in short supply. The Left hate Stephen Harper and would gladly celebrate his death, and hope it is a gruesome death.
They are vicious children who have grown up without any ability for self criticism or serious reflection, but most of them have learned to hide their real feelings, this is a refreshing departure and shows their true nature.
Well done Mr.Penner, your book sales will probably double.

  13. Yet those on the left always congratulate themselves on their sense of justice and love of peace. Heh.

  14. Ye old Liberal Party of Canada. They have leaped to power on simply scandal before. Today Prime Minister Trudeau and his cohorts are still using scandal. Duffy is a Godsend to them and all over a debt repaid, not down right theft. Throw in their still ongoing slandering of former Prime Minister Harper. They are fueling their running of this country Canada on scandal. Time will tell if the public will finally cotton on to their game.

  15. EBD, this tweet and this story are almost 4 mos old now.
I find no mention of that which I think is dishonest, misleading at the very least. Reintroducing inflammatory news items that are even years old as current news is a tactic Breitbart seems to rely on regularly to keep the troops fired up. I expect better of SDA, although this type of misrepresentation has already occurred here at least a few times before.
Of course, Penner should have been fired back in August when he outed himself as the hateful scumbag that he is.

  16. With the kind of sweet smelling “cake” such a fellow of charming happy-go-lucky temperament is capable of putting out for his death celebration party it may be impossible to keep the occasion from being totally inundated by those most appreciative of such cake: black flies.

  17. Old stories are only old if they have never been public knowledge. While this happened some months ago it is only now that I am aware of it. The idea that if a story is not reported immediately it somehow becomes not a story doesn’t really work for me. And Breitbart’s fine.

  18. This reminds me of the joyous vitriol that many on the left expressed at the death of Margaret Thatcher. Isn’t it funny how you don’t hear such tones from the political right when a leftist leader dies?

  19. Uh, well,Kate HAS announced the death of Fidel Castro on several occasions.
Thankfully, she’s been wrong every time, and now our PM has someone to spend Christmas with.

  20. The Conservatives ddid themselves in by not ridding this Country of these communists. To late now as usual they didn’t have the back bone to do the right thing.

  21. I am so fed up with these idiots suffering from harper derangement syndrome I will gladly go to the party and piss on the cake!

  22. Hi Gary, I think that was me you wanted to address.
First of all, what story? I just see an undated and hateful tweet linking to his stupid CBC page. It was presented with no current context I could discern. If I have missed a link or something, please point it out.
Anyways, stop and think. If this tweet really just came to light now, wouldn’t the fact it was 4 mos old be a pretty damn important fact? Cripes, man! And, if it was known 4 mos ago, no reason is given to highlight it now? The proceeding comments show many here were unfairly given the impression that Penner’s despicable words were new.

  23. We had a chance to fix this and did not, now we have to hope for such vicious budget deficits, that they will have to cut funding. But that will never happen. The next time around if the conservative ever get back in, we will have to shut down the funding for the cbc and let the market choose.

  24. Rush Limbaugh had a more than usual interesting insight on his show today. He wondered why everyone in the MSM is asking what is wrong with Donald Trump when the question should be what is wrong with our moral and intellectual superiors who are doing everything they can to endanger the safety of our country and ruin our economy. You can see his musings on his home site and read the transcript.

  25. Au contraire mon ami, I celebrate the death of Pierre Elliott Trudeau to this day.
All members of the Canadian Media Guild should have been fired for announcing their collective lack of objectivity while their money-losing employers at least pretend otherwise.
Being looters and thugs is the essence of the left. To them, all virtue comes from the coercive power and authority of the state and enforced at gun point.

  26. Creepy picture-like he’s leering. Instinct kicks in; keep kids away from that one.
Never heard of this ‘special cbc snowflake’ – thanks Kate.

  27. Well if a conservative had said this about a liberal you wouldn’t of had to wait 4 months to hear about it and you would still be hearing about it.

  28. How does a person report this, and the URL’s, to the National Post, CTV, and Globe and Mail?

  29. ”First of all, what story? I just see an undated and hateful tweet linking to his stupid CBC page.”

It’s not undated. The link I posted in Reader Tips yesterday clearly shows that the Tweet is dated August 15th of this year. It was only brought to our attention yesterday, though — presumably because not a lot of conservatives spend time reading his Tweets.
Here’s my question to you: If something only comes to light, or is discovered, a few weeks or a few months after the fact, does that make it off-limits? Are we not allowed to notice it? If so, why? Is it determined by your say-so?
Suppose for the sake of argument that four months ago a CBC journalist posted, I don’t know, a pro-jihadist screed on Facebook, but it wasn’t unearthed until today. Should it be off-limits to notice or refer to it on the grounds that it was written four months ago?

  30. So you just assume that everyone visiting this thread read a different posting on a different thread on a different day to get critical facts of the story? That sounds smart. As I already stated, many other posters clearly didn’t realize it was from August either.
And read my damn post, I clearly stated that the apparent fact it didn’t come to light before now was VITAL! That was a major reason for complaining about the fact that the information wasn’t even hinted to in your new thread. Cripes.
Face it EBD, you did a shitty job of moving this story forward and an even shittier job of accepting fair criticism for it.
FYI, a proper response would have been…
“Thanks CO, good catch. That was important info not to have front and center for everyone.”
[Umm, this isn’t my thread. I didn’t post it. Read the byline. — EBD]
