    I don’t like Donald Trump. But he may surprise everyone. And I think that much like PM Harper, he’s become a victim of bad press, AKA leftist Press, CBC, CTV etc..
    I do know this. If Trump gets elected, the Paris Agreement will disappear and so will the Liberals! And Keystone XL will be built!

    They want to believe in their fantasy world of perfect political correctness, where everyone is equal, except for native indians who are more equal.
    They believe in their utopian paradise, despite rock solid evidence that not everything is perfect, and never will be.
    They will lie thru their teeth, its a means to their end. Witness their previous election lies, the GST, gas taxes, 6&5 wage controls anybody?
    This time around, what will the lies be, and how many? Their deficits and spending is up for discussion, as is their climate changey position. According to them now, all is solved, yet, we see from the Paris agreement, that there is NOTHING BINDING about it. Its all just wishful thinking.

This is classic political tone-deathness, not dissimilar to 18th. Century Verseilles. No good will come of this. The elites do not have to live with the problems they create for the ruled. Not only do they know better than the great unwashed, they do not mix with them either. This will not end well. Like Merkel’s moral preening about accepting “refugees”, AKA invaders, while the great mass of Germans are totally opposed. But no public opinion polls are taken on that question of course.

  22. More goal post moving. Liberals now say billions in deficit don’t matter, it’s the debt to GDP ratio that is important. Didn’t matter to them when they kept accusing Harper of adding $150 billion even as the ratio was going down.

    Not able enough to lead the country for another term apparently.

    Caroline Mulroney appears to be the perfect fit.
    Good Lord! Have we fallen this far into the pit of decadent stupidity? I honestly fear for my grandchildren’s futures.

Before they go in search of a leader, this party needs to decide if it wants to continue the authoritarian, security-obsessed themes of the former government, or perhaps rebuild on a more libertarian base. Personally, if they signal that they are going to keep thumping away at the neo-conservative themes, I believe there will be a split in the political right because this will not wash with about one third to one half of the base.
    Not sure how many would want to break away from the more libertarian option but good riddance to bad rubbish however many that turned out to be. The Liberals may turn out to be their natural home, we’ll have to see how the Hair Apparent handles the C-51 file.

  33. Plainzfyre, I watched that, too. Donald did benefit from his father’s early advice and the $1 million start-up money, but he decided to develop in Manhattan on his own, while his father preferred to stay in Brooklyn. Nobody escapes failures in this life, and Donald has had his share, but he’s a quick learner and “fearless” (as he was described). He GETS how the grassroots of conservative America thinks, and he’s a fighter, never down for long. I don’t know how he can do so much with so little sleep! To me, how hardworking and straight-up his kids are, reveals a lot about The Donald. As he told them, “No alcohol, no cigarettes, no drugs and no tattoos”…:)

    I won’t necessarily give up on the idea of this woman being a decent leader. Just because her old man was a useless Liberal in Conservative clothing doesn’t automatically disqualify her. However, what I find utterly disgusting is that “handsome spouse”, “beautiful family” and nice hair appears to be today’s criteria for a leader.
