    just watched Ron Howard’s latest ‘In the Heart of the Sea’.
    what a hard, hard life it was in those days. during the film, Im thinking, migod, how many trillions of man hours did it take to get us to this spoiled life? chemistry, medicine, discovery of electricity, astronomy and all those ‘big questions’, the printing press. that ‘pendulum’ of struggle alternating between triumph and catastrophe and STILL the human spirit pushes forward and forward again.
    and a few learn the lessons, enough of them, to lock in progress to that time and build a foundation for the next batch gifted with a work ethic.

Is it down to misinterpretation,we seem to hear so many different opinions from those who practice Islam. First of all-45 people living in a single family dwelling?? I think the municipality may have a by-law preventing that. And only two bathrooms for 45 people dropping a deuce every day? And what about the cost of food, water, electricity etc?

    Why is it that whenever the media does a story on cases like this,they never mention how the people who are sponsoring their relatives earn their living.
    Back in the 1990’s when the Family Class of immigrants were flooding into Canada with no vetting,it was discovered that one woman from India,who had only ever worked part time as a fruit picker, was sponsoring her sons to come here to do the same; work for three months then collect EI for the rest of the year.
    It was also discovered that farm owners of the same ethnicity were falsifying work records so that workers without enough weeks of employment could still live off the glorious Canadian dole.
    I’m NOT claiming the Syrians of CBC fame are doing anything of the sort,but I wonder, how DO they make a living good enough that they have a house worth enough to get a $250,000 mortgage on it?

  27. That’s 43 McCallum will have off his hands as he and the Liberal government fly by the arse of their pants to deal with all the “refugees” they’ve invited in to become permanent citizens.
    Wonder if any thought has been given to how they’re going to learn the language and become self supporting within a reasonable time frame?
    Wonder if they’ve tallied the cost to our already sick health care system prior to adding thousands who may need a lot of health care? In Ontario our doctors are stretched to their limits and many do not have a family doctor as more are leaving or taking early retirement.
    This is possibly going to be the worst immigration mess we’ve ever seen in this country on many fronts.

  33. Too late for all that I’d say. Should have made that speech 25+ years ago. Most people that I know want it to stop now and not pussyfoot around, which is exactly what the current political class will do regardless of any speech. We see the nation as a whole going down the toilet – adding a bunch of 3rd world illiterate counter-culture muslims isn’t the direction we chose. And I say WE meaning who I know. If a “demagogue” has to be put in office to undo the current demagogue – then that’s what I plan on doing. I doubt the senate and house can change many views now no matter what they do.

Liz, all the publicity that junior is getting needs to be put into the perspective of him calling Harper “disgusting” and accusing Harper of interfering with the immigration process for the purpose of a “photo-op”. The MSM totally ignored the fact that PMSH’s actions were intended to ensure that the selection of potential immigrants included giving priority to people being actively persecuted, for example Christians.
    Also, the group that Junior is attempting to take credit for today is totally privately sponsored whose applications were being processed when Harper was still running the show, months before the election! (And they are mostly Christian!) 🙂
