Bringing Climate Realism to Paris at COP-21

The Heartland Institute;

Heartland and the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT) are leading a delegation of scientists and policy experts to Paris to hold a “counter-conference” during COP-21 called the Day of Examining the Data on Monday, December 7 to demonstrate there is strong and informed opposition to Obama’s plans and to expose the agendas and true costs of the agreement being negotiated there.
We have reserved meeting space and rooms at a hotel in Paris where we will hold a series of media events with scientific experts explaining the compelling evidence that humans are not causing a global warming crisis. We have made our space available to allies being sent by other organizations, such as the Heritage Foundation, CFACT, the Competitive Enterprise Institute, and allied groups in Europe. We will live-stream presentations from our meeting space so the whole world will know we are there, even if the mainstream media boycott us. To watch the live-stream — and auto-archived videos of our activity December 1-10 — visit Heartland.org.

I’d settle for a blizzard.

  1. One wonders if there are any American Ivy League students or alumni in Paris to ensure that this group isn’t allowed to meet and talk.

  2. The efforts of Heartland and other groups are laudable but at least in Canada the current leadership is going full steam ahead with their efforts to tax and regulate us back to the stone age energy wise. They claim to be for the poor but in fact their policies of high priced energy percolated down to all consumer products will hurt the poor the most.
Calling them filthy scum is being too kind.

  3. Bienvenue à l’hôtel California !!
Three of the 10 named scientists and policy experts are Canadian.
And there will be one C. Monckton.
A movie in the evening.[Just what you’d want to do on a Paris night]
    But what’s this about?

  4. Sadly, the weather this week in Paris will be narrative-friendly for the delusionals, they have rolled the dice and come up with very mild weather this time around. And I am sure they will use it to “prove” to gullible journalists (Tom etc) that climate change is real.
Hopefully the skeptic conference can gain some faint reporting but the public doubts about the climate change agenda will continue to spread mainly through internet forums and so the issue will remain a left-right divide, although I know quite a few progressives who have strong doubts about climate change, but probably feel that good things will happen anyway so why rock the boat?
That attitude will allow our governments to push ahead with the delusional agenda and begin extensive wealth transfer to third world governments who will of course waste the money and fail to solve any environmental problems whether caused by man or not. My guess is that we will all be paying about 10% higher taxes so that African and Asian dictators can buy more guns, champagne and caviar. Sea levels probably won’t rise much and the human race will slowly forget about this “issue” as nature disproves the fallacy. But the taxes will remain and so will the third world.
The strong El Nino will no doubt cause new spikes in global temperature to feed the hysteria. The equation that I like to use is e equals m c cubed, which means
    exaggeration equals mass confusion cubed.
There is also O’Donnell’s first law of thermo-hysterics, every record high receives ten times the coverage of every record low, and the law of expansion of taxes, namely, taxes expand in inverse proportion to the IQ of the finance minister.

  5. we are pissing in the wind. most countries have been taken over by brain dead socialists and we are going to get our whipping come hell or high water.

  6. After Bell’s latest round of cuts, I made the mistake of switching from CFRA to CBC for this morning’s drive in to work. I had to switch to the music station after about a minute, the wholesale regurgitation of the “climate change” propaganda was stomach turning……

  9. Nationally syndicated columnist Cal Thomas calls Climate Hustle “tremendous” and says “anyone who still believes in ‘climate change’ after watching this film needs the type of reprogramming given to cult members.”
    Drudge..
New film ‘Climate Hustle’ opening in Paris the same week as the lying UN country grubbers and their climate rustlers..
    ‘Hey Al Gore,’
All that snow in Denver last night made it impossible for coach Bellyache to read Denver’s hand signals,
and my TV screen got all snowy during the Broncos-Patriots football game.
No more Snow and Ice !——- Bahawha.

  10. The Hot Air/Hyporacy in paree will be counted by cooler heads/common sense but as usial the media reptiles with igore the Cooler heads/Common sense and most likly cover the Hot Air/Hypocracy bunch of wrld goverment pushers

  11. While the heartland efforts are laudable, there will be not a single mention of them by the media, especially during their wall to wall coverage of the alarmist conference.

  12. If Liberals had to take an anti-hypocrisy oath they’d be screwed. All this pretense on the climate file is no more than words that mean squat. We all recall how frere Jean signed onto Kyoto and sat on it for nine years and did diddly. We know where that all ended when reality got in the way. This waste of time meeting in Paris is another example of pure hypocrisy, traveling by jet from around the world to tell us nothing.
They’re merely exposing themselves for how little they know and how little they can do about the farce called “climate change”. The climate changes over the decades, has since records were kept and there’s not a goddamned thing we can do about it.

  13. Politicians have gone down the priority list of what concerns the electorate and, knowing they can’t solve all the important ones (caused by their own), they focus on the one that is non existent, impossible to verify and conveniently grows leviathan. Heartland offers some light on the subject for the few critical thinkers left.

  14. And skeptic film is being released in Paris — Climate Hustle. Word will get out. News agencies ignoring the increasingly convincing skepticism (like CBC) risk losing credibility.

  15. Over 20 years ago,Michael Campbell , of “Money Talks”, when questioned about the new alarmism over global warming, said; it doesn’t matter whether it’s real or not. Governments will embrace this because they can raise taxes forever in the name of a great cause.
Our Canadian governments are all up to OUR ass in debt, due to their mismanagement, and “climate change” is a godsend for them. I admire Monckton and the rest of “Sanity” crew over there in Paris, but they don’t have much of a chance against the juggernaut that is climate change. They will be lucky to garner 1/1000th the publicity the conference gets.
Too bad ISIS shot their wad a couple of weeks back, but then half the security forces on the planet are currently in Paris and Muslim terrorists don’t much like targets that shoot back.
And those wonderful capitalists are all jumping on board the bandwagon:

Together, they intend to royally screw us peasants.
It’s way too late for a revolution, we just don’t have it in us anymore, might affect our pensions,so we have to just hunker down and pay,and pay,and pay,and pay………….
I wonder when Justin’s going to come after our guns.

  16. That’s right Don, it meshes with their statist political culture. But, it also reveals in them a lack of integrity to not question the (self-serving) idea, that humans, catastrophically or otherwise, are actually changing the climate, when the hypothesis should be considered disproven. Instead of leadership, they double down with phony surface measurements, which are obviously contradicted by satellite and other measurements, then accuse others of cherry picking the facts, as the warmist doctrine crumbles and voters look the other way. Too bad when they turn around they’re going to find their wallets empty.
Trudeau said Canada is back; yeah to 1993 when Chretien said Canada was back. They both meant statist Canada, controlled by the LPC, was back. The excuses for taxation were different then but the idea was the same. Liberals would be our overlords, not because they care about us, but because they wish to give themselves governmental legitimacy to put their people in every possible taxpayer supported entity, except their crony capitalist friends who have very own trough, to ensure loyalty from the troops, especially the unemployable ones. They do so by making a false promise to the voter – that larger government was a fiscal good when the clear idea that taxing productivity reduces output is historically axiomatic. Nevertheless policy efficacy is judged by how their party flourishes and gains power, not the great unwashed who just waste their money on beer and popcorn anyway so remain useful idiots.
It is truly amazing to watch them miss the irony as they discuss ways they can compel future governments to raise taxes to battle a false threat – climate change – when in Paris only short weeks ago, ISIS made a clear case for being the real threat. I guess that’s too hard, better to pontificate about saving the earth while grabbing a windfall of revenues to waste than to take on bad guys and real challenges. Political correctness and common sense are now at antithesis.
When are we going to understand the poor get crushed under the rent seeking tidal wave of carbon taxes, higher electricity costs and more nanny state intrusion into their lives. Just for good measure, when 80% of them work hard and climb out of poverty – as they have done – they will be greeted by future taxes via today’s deficits. The poor today are no doubt heartened the Grits are sending $6.5b of their carbon taxes to other countries’ poor.
You see even the carbon largesse of today, even if they don’t ground down already anemic growth, even if they doubled down from there, these fools would still run deficits so add even further to increasing tax burdens. They won’t stop either, prescribing the illness as the cure, until they’re stopped by reality as is only beginning to happen in countries like Greece. The leviathan is suffocating the golden goose. It’s all there, an interdependent world to profit from, cheap accessible energy, worldwide pluralism & prosperity – but they con the voter to let them take it all away, in bite sized chunks, because they honestly believe they are smarter than all people; kind of like thinking you can change the climate perhaps?
In PETs day, federal debt was 50% of spending; now it’s 33% thanks to Mulroney’s 2nd term, the IMF and Stephen Harper. Mini-Pierre is even more economics challenged than his father, plus while he may not have his father’s hair, he has his debt. Add to that the boomers who voted themselves these tax increases during the PET era are now retiring and drawing from the medical and pensions systems, a fiscal tsunami nobody but nobody has prepared for. So obviously that’s a good time to take on more obligations eh?
No, but it’s a great job creation plan for Grits. The rest – climate change, social justice, the middle class in crisis (but it’s OK to screw the poor) – is BS and noise to avert our gaze from the real objective – naked power, influence and the cash patronage that goes with it – aka the raison d’etre of the LPC.
