Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

“The group, which said it carried out the Paris attacks, is likely to have used mustard gas in Syria, but it is thought to have just a few old shells salvaged in Iraq.”
Iraq had WMD?
I’m shocked.
Islam itself is a WMD.
Muammar Gaddafi had tons of chemical weapons in Benghazi and so did Bashir Al-Assad, stored in the part of Syria that ISIS now calls the Caliphate.
In 1995 the Japanese cult Aum Shinrikyo launched a coordinated attack on five trains in the Tokyo subway system, killing 13 commuters, seriously injuring 54 and affecting 980 more. Some estimates claim as many as 6,000 people were injured by the sarin nerve gas which cult members made themselves from scratch.
The reason so few people died was because the sarin was in liquid form and released by puncturing bags of it, instead of delivering it in an aerosol form.
No worries, ISSI could never attack a large city with biological, chemical weapons.
President Barack Obama has declared that ISIS has been “contained,” asserting that the terror cell has been stalled in Iraq and Syria.
NYC, Paris, Berlin, Brussels, Mali, have nothing to worry about,
You should be more concerned about Carbon poisoned gas, climate change,
The life saving, global warming meeting in Paris.
“Here, keep watching this large climate change watch,
Don’t move your head, just follow it back and forth with your eyes.”
“Good girl, you are getting sleepy, getting sleepy.”
Now repeat after me…
“Climate change is bad, Climate change is bad, Carbon gas is poison,
terrorists will not harm you,
Go ahead now… take off your long, sexy, winter coat, get comfortable… Relax…. relax.”
there is no such thing as Islamic jihad, muslims don’t kill people and the moon is made of blue cheese, not green.
Everything is unlikely until it happens.
building the “bomb” was improbable for a third world nation. That was until the dutch allowed a Paki engineer, named Kan free access, while he worked, to a nuclear facility. He stole most of the info he needed to construct the first third world bomb.
WalterF, 5000 war heads is close enough to zero for any fanatical lefty
More from the “the terrorists haven’t tried/been successful at this/that so won’t try that in the future.”
Yes, like flying airliners into skyscrapers. They’d never tried that before either. Or inserting ISIS fighters into refugee populations. Or running organized crime outfits. Or having their own country. Can humanity be this stupid – to suspend belief in obvious security threats. Have we learned nothing of the intent and capability of evil ideologues?
Chemical weapons (poor man’s nukes) have varying degrees of complexity in production & deployment. There’s lots of them around and they’re fairly easy to make; with the relatively more complex nerve agents the most concerning. The problem for the terrorists is staying under the radar and delivery to maximize casualties, a bit like teaching people how to fly a plane into a building.
IOW very doable, though of greater complexity than present operations. I disagree entirely with the sentiment that they “won’t” employ WMDs. States can be deterred, but not terrorists. The fact it wasn’t Islamists who attacked Tokyo with nerve agents is not comforting at all because it proves the capability exists.
No matter, it’s too good an opportunity for ISIS to pass up, something like infiltrating Syrian refugees. ISIS, AQ et al patiently probe our defensive capabilities, secure in the knowledge of our international cowardice they are free to ramp up capability to escalate attacks to the point of a mass killing to launch the world into mayhem and their apocalyptic victory. Millions of fighters are poised for martyrdom, so blowback is manageable to these jihadists.
That is the “tipping point” we should be concerned about, not this climate change bs. It seems our present leaders, particularly here and in the US, don’t have the stomach for the heavy lifting of leadership, where tough decisions aren’t postponed, preferring to operate in the more leisurely netherworld of middle classes in crisis and battling the scourge of warmer weather and more plant food.
It’s our moral cowardice, as nations, that gets them elected and gets us this mishmash of easy decisions. If this continues, things are going to harder, a lot harder, a lot quicker than we could imagine.
ISIS has, of course, attempted to recruit technically capable people. The quiet around the bombing of the Russian airliner suggests that they have succeeded.
Poison gas? It’ relatively easy to obtain chlorine in industrial quantities, and it is relatively easy to handle. It is dead easy to make hydrogen sulphide, which is as poisonous as any terrorist would like. I think I will not continue.
In the last five years the rules about handling chemicals in Canadian universities have become very tight indeed, BTW, at the behest of “the authorities.”
Wait a minute ISIS already uses biological weapons , each time a 72 versions detonates they contaminate an area all round their position.
Nukes, including dirty nukes, requiring only access to nuclear material without true delivery capability, is what they seek along with WMD, or any other means to cause ever more mass casualties, and thus holy war.
Apparently 100-200 isn’t enough, neither is 3000. What’s it going to take to get us to war with them.
How is it that you people question experts.
They know things.
No other person knows things.
If there were no experts that know things, there would be no AGW.
There would be the earth covered with solar cells because the experts know things.
If you had nothing to to eat, that would not only a minor annoyance. You should compensate your desire to eat with the experts knowledge that you are saved from enjoying the warmth of the sun.
Rather enjoy the knowledge that the experts think that you just don’t know f!?/:;ng thing and that you should submit to the experts.
Little by little bit they will get you. You won’t even notice.
There is a book be Richard Farina with title “I’ve been down so long it looks like up to me”, a very appropriate way to put it.
In time, the terrorists will become the good guys, just watch. Little bit by little bit.
That is how the socialist/fascist propaganda works.
Little bit by little bit.
Been there,they were the experts.
You can tell even here at SDA, there are well meaning people, with well meaning comments, with all manners of preamble to save themselves from being labeled.
Yeah the real world life is a dangerous territory, better play it safe.
Don’t know where this came from. None the less there it is.
Ps. If three is any error in granary, spelling and any of the other infractions, submit your outrage to the blackberry play book.
