Actually the real reason for immigration is so we can create money out of thin air. If you’ve ever read anything about how our banking and monetary system work (loans, mortgages, securities, government debt), we can create millions of dollars out of thin air by importing people who will theoretically be able to produce something of value in the future. I just wish they would import more people who have a better, REAL chance of productivity and not those who are just going to be a net drain on the system.

Trudeau will probably acquiesce to their demands.

the Muslim population in Canada grew by 311% (according to Wikki) between 1991 and 2011. They’re somewhere around 5% right now.
If that trend continues after we jump start the process with another 25K in the next three months, it’s not unlikely that we could have north of 10% of Canadians being Muslim.
No big deal in itself but what if they import their belief system? I understand that a huge majority Muslims around the world think Sharia law should be practiced everywhere.
So, the current system landed Lizzy May 1 seat. Under Proportional representation, that would have been 10 seats.
She only got 3% of the vote nationally. Right away, the current Muslim vote is able to get north of 12 seats.
When you take into account that we have no idea how current Canadian Muslims voted, other than not for Harper, it’s not impossible that a revised system could yield 20+ seats for a Sharia based party in Canada. Boom, they’re bigger than the Bloc.
Now, fast forward three election cycles and the Muslim population is around 10-15%?
Voting as a block, plus the idiot SJW vote and whoever else hates Western culture/prosperity/hates living with electricity and we could see 50-70 seats. Official opposition status in a fractured parliament.
We’d have three left of centre parties of note (NDP, Liberal, Green), one centrist (CPC) and one whatever a Sharia party would be (Ultra Left Wing?)

Those who are busy calling those of us who are opposed to this `bigots`have probably not taken time to learn anything about the Muslim religion. These are NOT this generation`s Italian immigrants. These are people who (if they are committed Muslims) have a radically different world view from that which prevails in the democratic West. I think that most people have no problem with ethnic diversity, which has been supported for many years. The problem is conflicting ideologies and radically different world views. How many people understand, for example, that within Islam there is no such thing as `human`rights. This is God`s world and humans are expected to comply with God`s laws. That is why all the beheadings, etc. are accepted in the societies where they happen. When you think about it, that makes a kind of sense — but it is not consistent with Western secular beliefs.
Of course many Muslims will not be strong proponents of their religion, but enough are that they will never be assimilated. We should not just be concerned about terrorism, but about factions in our society who are not willing to take part in our society with its Western values and the resentment that that will breed — on both sides. We do not want `no go`zones in our cities. There is a complete failure among the left-Liberal contingent in our society to understand the nature of the Muslim religion and why it creates a problem.

You know, I would not be surprised if many NOT-radical Muslims did vote for Harper. I don`t think they like the niqab or citizenship for terrorists any more than we do. Many Iranian women refuse to wear even a hijab in the West because of being forced to do so in Iran. Some vulnerable Muslim women probably like the protections he was pursuing against things like forced marriages. An immigrant woman who was interviewed on TVO indicated that their women`s association had been asking for a tips line to support victims since 1992. This is a false narrative on the left — that the legislation Harper was putting in place is anti-Muslim — it was not. It was anti-radical and extremist behaviour. Any reasonable person opposes those things.
There is an interest thing about numbers and how they multiply.
Group A has 1 kid average per female or .5 daughters and .25 grand-daughters.
Group B has 3 kids average per female or 1.5 daughter and 2.5 grand-daughters.
Lets say Group A is 90% of the population of say 10 million women
Group A has 9 million x .25 = 2.25 million grand-daughters
Group B has 1 million x 2.5 = 2.5 million grand-daughter
With 10 % of the population being Muslim we are only 2 to 3 generations away from sharia law. Enjoy, I’ll be long dead.

PM Harper already announced a substantial increase to eligible Syrian refugees for this year; are these 25,000 on top of those numbers, does anyone know?I doubt it very much.
It is one thing to expedite existing claims and process privately sponsored refugees to increase numbers. But simply picking a number out of the air because it is bigger than Stephen Harper’s is an alarmingly childish way to conduct Canada’s business.
