I hate to break it to them but this is what studies in both France and Germany found, and why these nations cratered the carbon trade scam – old news, and now an established pattern of predictable outcome.
If you design a system to allow large corporations to emit and pay to do it, they will emit as per normal. Every jurisdiction carbon trading has been installed, the system becomes corrupt and solves nothing – predictable outcome.
Carbon dioxide hysterics have proven the old definition of insanity is repeating the same failed methods expecting different outcomes. Climate freaks are certainly not the sharpest knives in humanity’s knife drawer.
I used to see the press releases reprinted as breaking news how Canadian companies would finance the emissions for their new plant by buying emissions from a plant shutting down in China. It was just as unlikely that the plant really shut down as it was that it ever existed. To believe that anything coming out of China, Russia, or the Ukraine has any degree of honesty other than random chance is folly.

Carbon credit trading increases corruption and emissions. How is that surprising. If you think it through, that is the likely outcome.
In Alberta, we have hundreds of wind turbines creating redundant electricity, which as I understand it, the grid must connect to (at grid expense) and buy, which increases the cost of electricity for nothing. However, as I understand it the turbine companies get to sell carbon credits, which may be what it is really all about. The obvious outcome is higher cost and higher emissions from building and running the turbines.
The rent-seeking orgies of the CAGW scam is just a glimpse of our future under the fascist watermelon theocracies where progressives are now entrenched.
