  1. O’Shea is what, 5-15 in his last 20? If you work for a moving company you might want to send him a bouquet right about now.

  2. If winning the Grey Cup is something to go by, Chamblin is still in a four-way tie for best coach in Roughrider history. With both Durant and Glen out to injury, he has more leeway than is typical for a head coach with no wins this far along in a season.

  3. So in Vancouver last night we glumly watched the Als outplay the Lions in every aspect of the game. Als deserved the victory, Lions deserved the loss.
But it was all worth it for me today. I phoned a friend who had not heard the news about Higgins. I carefully said, “About the game last night — the coach has been fired!”. Of course she thought I meant the Lions’ coach, and she had been hoping he would be fired for several weeks now. So she expressed satisfaction at some length — some considerable length — and then I told her that the coach who had beaten our team was the one who was fired. After many a “What? What? But?” we both dissolved into helpless laughter. Our team gets beat and the other coach gets fired.
Must have been something in the air from all those pot shops!

  4. The CFL has become like a gamblers dream… The referees penalty calling determine & take-up 80% of the game…..Once in a long while a football play is seem…RR have needed a new offensive Coordinator coach since day one.
Un-sportsman like conduct has taken an obscene turn, What is it NOT? If a player wife in the stands celebrates to much ?

  5. I’ve watched about ten CFL games this season, and is it just me,or does the whole league seem of lesser quality this year? There are very few receivers that can hold on to the ball, and very few RB’s that can carry the ball, and the Q/B situation is dismal, almost every team is on their second or third string Q/B.
It seems the only reason some teams have a winning record is that the other teams are even worse, and they can’t all lose all the time.
The CFL needs an injection of talent at the glamour positions,Q/B,RB, WR,etc. Right now it’s like watching AHL hockey games, where you can see the lack of ability on display and know why they’re in that league, not the Bigs.
I won’t even mention the penalties, after every exciting play, you hold your breath and hope the play isn’t about to be called back, as it seems to be about half the time.
Maybe I’m getting old and cantankerous or something, but the CFL,which I’ve followed faithfully since the 1950’s,(Kenny Ploen,Bernie Faloney,Sam Etcheverry,Jackie Parker,Normie Kwong) just doesn’t seem to be as high quality as they used to be.
Maybe I need to start taking geritol.

  6. Watched my first cfl games in 10 years. Was in a bar so no sound. Looked like a flag on damn near every play.
Again, I have said this before here. 3 down football on a big field is a good game and could be exciting but the cfl version……?
