Evening the scores

From a UCLA diversity handout’s listed examples of statements that constitutes microaggression:

“I believe the most qualified person should get the job.”

Uh oh. It’s as if the very idea of having qualifications is racist, depending on racial distributions:

In New York…an analysis last year of the most difficult (Praxis core math) exam found that during a six-month period, only 41 percent of black and 46 percent of Hispanic candidates passed the test their first time, compared with 64 percent of their white counterparts.

A federal judge is now weighing whether the test is discriminatory.

You may not be interested in diversity, but diversity is very much interested in you.

  1. I don’t find this surprising at all. It’s not about minorities. It’s all about everyone winning a prize. I’ve worked for a couple of years doing invigilating for nurse’s exams and I’ve seen many whom I wouldn’t want on any ward in which I happened to be a patient.
Wannabe nurses can fail the exam three times. Some require their own special room away from all the others while taking the exam, because they can’t handle ‘distractions’. And trust me…. only a morgue has fewer distractions than the atmosphere during these exams. Another had to have the questions read to her because she had trouble with written instruction. Hmmm. What were the instructions for that medicine I have to give?
The we have women who cannot meet the physical standards for the fire department, so we’ll just lower the standards and trust there won’t be any victims weighing more than 125lbs. Army Rangers in the U.S.? Of course none of the female applicants can meet the hugely rigorous standards, they should not be denied their right to be a Ranger. Lower the standar4ds!
It’s the New World Order. Standards, gender or even race mean nothing in the face of our individual rights to be whatever our heart desires.

  2. Nobody can deny the test is discriminatory. It is clearly designed to discriminate between those who understand math, and those who don’t. Outrageous.

  3. Well said Ray. i can only echo your thoughts. Indeed, is not the very point of a test to discriminate?

  4. It seems our universities are fast becoming carbon copies of Russian universities during the Soviet era. People actually qualified for positions were often the exception. All that mattered was the correct attitude.

  5. Well, the solution is obvious. Every entrance exam/aptitude test should consist of 50% book learnin’, and the other 35% on skill of dribbling and slam dunking!

  6. Time to totaly defund al Universitie and Collages this is tax payers money these leftists adminastraors are using to indoctrinate these students

  7. I guess we can forget about all the things math is needed for. diversity of idiocy is far more important.

  8. The handout is from the University of California Office of the President (if you click through to the actual handout, the site is http://www.ucop.edu, and ucop stands for just that), so it applies at all the UC campuses, not just UCLA.

  9. You’re right in one regard: ideology. But that’s where it ends. The Soviets prized knowledge of mathematics and science, whereas today that’s considered white privilege.

  10. Diversity politics has jumped the shark. It’s no longer about equity, it’s about psychotic guilt complex and self harm as a solution. Like other white suburban left guilt political memes this one has mutated into another form of self-injury neurosis camouflaged as social justice crusade which attracts borderline personality disorders by the droves.
So now, “diversity” only matters to those who get excited smearing themselves with their own feces, it’s therapy for SHD. There will always be the deranged with us, where this departs from silly to serious is when we see elected officers and judiciary give there neurosis based memes any credulity.
Officials who show symptoms of these neurotic outlets which pose as social justice activism should not only be removed from office abruptly, but put into institutional observation/evaluation and never allowed near public office again – this is one of the reasons we are seeing a pathocracy emerge in political leadership – it’s gone from fringers making policy to outright neurotics dictating public policy.

  11. Simple. Have black teachers prepare all the standard exams. Any guesses as to what the BS excuse would then be? How do you turn it in to whitie’s fault?

  12. Why even have exams? Just ask each person to estimate their own mark based on how they feel they could do. This way the most optimistic people end up with the best jobs.
And when you’re lying on the surgeon’s table and he’s explaining to the nurse that he is so optimistic he always scores 100% on his tests, relax, you’re in great hands.

  13. I’m more concerned about mico-socialism, micro-totalitarianism, micro-conflicts of interest, micro-rent seeking and most of all, micro-BS. Actually macro BS is worse.

  14. I suppose we should have a chat with the judge. Is he not going to discriminate against the test and the people who wrote the test?
Did someone else not discriminate against the people who were vying for the judge’s current position but were not successful?
