  7. There’s a term in journalism that describes a news report where ”the story creates the event” instead of the other way around where an interesting or important event creates a good story. I believe they refer to it as ”yellow journalism,” a term that came about when front page stories in competitive American newspapers led to the creation of the Spanish American war of 1898.
    Such is the case with a story that is featured on CBC.Ca at this very moment. The headline says that on Monday June 15, U2’s Bono will be meeting with Canada’s three party leaders (that include our PM.) in order to discuss African aid.

    Interesting to note that less than two hours after the story was posted, commenting was closed. Whether or not Pro-Harper or Pro Conservative comments were the cause of the early shutdown we don’t know, as those comments were most likely deleted by the CBC.
    Is Bono’s meeting with Canadian politicians a headline story?? Or is the headline creating the importance of the story?? And why is Bono involved in our foreign aid programs?? Too bad the Three stooges have all passed on now. Otherwise we could have made arrangements to have them there as well!! I’m sure they would have felt at home!

  14. Bono, the activist who has a band, will have the attention of Trudeau and Mulcair but how much time will the PM of this country be spending with him? He may leave scratching his head after a meeting with wet Trudeau and it’s doubtful Mulcair even knows who he is. Obviously Bono knows it’s an election year, time to take a break and play politicians instead of his band.
    Anyway, Canada has been very generous with aid across the board under this government.

I am surprised on the comments of “deniers” of Climate Change/Global Warming, they are actually a majority and it is the believers in the new religion of Global Warming that are defending themselves for once. There is hope.
