Reader Tips

There are more than a few ham-handed, overly-literal, or pretentiously angular versions of Erik Satie’s Gymnopédies, and indeed the spare, exposed, unadorned quality of the work makes it a good litmus test for pianists, separating those with a genuine spiritual feeling for music from the proverbial “typists” who achieve renown for playing difficult scores without a missed note, even as they slash their way through it with the sustain pedal stomped to the floor.
Parisian Anne Queffélec has an eloquent, expressive touch, and a real affinity for Satie. In tonight’s entertainment en route to the tips we listen to her genuinely lovely and intuitive interpretation of Trois Gymnopédies.
Enjoy.

  1. I do not know how Gavin is able to listen to that garbage.
    Talk about double speak.

  2. Gavin McInnes vs Heather Marie Scholl
She was at a loss for words when she realized that the agenda against white Privilege in the USA…Also applied to all the Countries the Socialists consider better.. They are ALL also White.. Communists must be busy everywhere and just get confused
Her Government opinions are actually Constitutional (akin to tea party) LOCAL & State government VS. Federal, but she doesn’t know enough about civics to understand what she is saying. The Republicans may not be explaining things in understandable
terms…Less Government = less Federal Control

  3. Don, what’s telling is the executive’s is speaking about carbon taxing “end users” not oil companies. Naked self interest meets abject stupidity in “Big Oil’s” latest suicide pact:
“A scorpion and a frog meet on the bank of a stream and the
scorpion asks the frog to carry him across on its back. The
frog asks, “How do I know you won’t sting me?” The scorpion
says, “Because if I do, I will die too.”
The frog is satisfied, and they set out, but in midstream,
the scorpion stings the frog. The frog feels the onset of
paralysis and starts to sink, knowing they both will drown,
but has just enough time to gasp “Why?”
Replies the scorpion: “Its my nature…”
Had a blog encounter with a Harper hating Grit. Actually got them to admit they were against tax cut measures for lower income Canadians because some rich people were getting “more.” The NDP carry this envious nonsense even further. None of us should make the mistake of assuming the NDP can’t win lest we wake up on October 20th in Obama North, which we can afford even less than Americans.
