  1. If I remember correctly wasn’t one of the very first things the Prime Minister did was to fly to Afghanistan and spend a few days in the field with the soldiers?

  2. And he was just in Kurdistan visiting the troops. I suspect when the poo hit the fan in the House of Commons, security just took over and followed their plan.

  3. This notion of “hiding” from debates is a bit hollow, given that the PM has agreed to appear on FIVE debates. The Media Party fail to report that and also hide that the format they prefer is not one where the leaders debate, but rather a glorified press conference where preening journalists display how they can outdo each other with “gotcha” questions aimed at the most conservative leader on the stage.
Reporting that would, of course render the coverage of this issue objective, fair and balanced. So we’re not likely to see it……..

  4. They would prefer of course that PM Stephen Harper is pulling the lawn over himself at Forest Lawn Cemetery…
When the bullets are flying this is known as ‘taking cover’ rather than having the shroud
    placed over you.
But then don’t expect realistic reporting from the LSM…

  5. I heard the “pretty boy” has been practicing his lines for 6 months for his drama debut at the leaders debate! Now that PM Harper & the government has changed the venue, the media party and opposition are in ruthless venom mode! Sleaze bags, all of them!

  6. Good on the PM for opting out of this foolishness. I seriously doubt if “ten million Cdns.” want to see him or anyone else for that matter engage in a “debate”.
My MP used to decline the opportunity to participate in so-called “town hall debates” since these events were always orchestrated by the local NDP who used to ensure that the venue was well-attended by unionistas. Of course they were there for the sole purpose of shouting down the Conservative candidate and generally behaving like childish buffoons.
Predictably, the MP was lampooned viciously by the local media for making the choice not to waste her time legitimizing such antics. She preferred going door to door and meeting her constituents face to face. Despite the disapproval of the media, she just went about winning elections and providing excellent service.

  7. The first people out the door were NDP’s Quebec caucus from reports I read right after it happened.

  8. The RCMP ordered PM Harper to take cover in the closet (because they’re responsible for his safety); while the CPC Caucus barricaded the doors and made improvised weapons to defend themselves. The NDP did not.
And you would think that the NDP sh1t-for-brains would realize that Justin blowing it helps them!

  9. Arn’t we getting creative with our insults, it appears the opposition have let the 8 year olds come out to play.

  10. Related :
Premier Notley just punted marijuana girl from the dippers caucas, she (Drever) tweeted some homophobic comment. Ooo, no free speech allowed.

  11. Is the Liberal caucus trying to out stupid their leader – or has the empty head at the top created a party cultural meme of mindless gaffers? This is the party of intellectual microbes who are oblivious to their own toxic hypocrisy.

  12. If the NDP is so brave – why not throw off the yoke of socialiism and let’s see who the real men are. Socialists are cowards.

  13. The NDP will debate anywhere and at anytime.
The Conservatives will not debate if the CBC’s cartel controls the debate.
The Liberals are refusing anything outside the control of the CBC’s cartel.
It is now being spun as PMSH is hiding, the PM is a control freak.
But, the reality is that JT is running scared. He wants control. The third party which has about 10% of the seats wants to set the rules. That is not democracy in action.
The media are covering Justin’s fear the same way they will manage the debate. All Liberal, all the time.
The Conservatives cannot bend on this one.
    No compromise, no prisoners.
The consortium laid their cards out after the Conservatives used 6 seconds of JT’s addled Boston Marathon ramble in an ad. They are Justin’s gaffe insurance and cheerleaders.
The premium comes due October 20th. It will be very expensive.

  14. The feeling I’m now getting is if the voters of Alberta are stupid enough to vote NDP, then probably Canadian voters are too if left to their own devices.
Notice I didn’t say Liberal. He’s already been thrown under the bus by the MSM who are going for their new guy, knowing they must pick one.
Disrespectful twits like Linda McQuaig – what would you do dear if a gunman was hunting you in the hallway, call in the Human Rights Tribunal SWAT team? – is the poster child for the leftist voter: no grasp of issues in any substantive way, preferring to wax Chomsky; but who ignores contrary evidence anyway because it’s from the Fraser Institute or some other collectivist garbage.
Yes McQuaig is a certifiable idiot, the NDP are hoping her kind of intellectual laziness is shared by the Canadian people. Harper should play this one carefully by gently giving Canadians a clear reality check of what his government has done and what this union owned party would do.
The shortsighted Alberta has sent a message to the rest of Canada they never intended; they are OK with socialism and statism, along with its watermelon philosophy. They didn’t change the game but the tweaked it in a very undesirable and unintended direction.
    The media will do

  15. Brilliant debaters were never able to improve the economic status of a country. They were never able to improve the situation of unemployment. That goes for so-called charisma as well. It is the governing of a country that counts.
I remember the election of 1945 in England. The brilliance of the rhetoric and the fiery ripostes won the day. We still had rationing though.

  16. Poor Linda.
Never been the same after her bestest pal Chavez “disappointed” her.

  17. For the record, just where was the Leader of the Opposition during the siege at Parliament Hill? We know Mr Third Party Leader was not anywhere near the place, but I thought both the PM and the Leader of the Opposition were hustled away by their security details.

  18. Trust me, he’s still in danger in Forest Lawn, too. Dover, FL, anywhere in Little Ethiopia.

  19. I saw a report on CTV where they actually let a Conservative spokesman tell them that PMSH has already set up 4 debates with local media that have nothing to do with the “consortium”, and is waiting for confirmation from the other party leaders on the 5th.

  20. I for one would never appear on ctv or cbc. they both hate conservatives and PM Harper. the debates are just bitch sessions moderated by a liberal or npd supporter, they are not debates.

  21. The lamestream libdipper alliance are worried their relevance has almost completely disappeared.

all i can say is, thank the goddess that justin trudeau rushed to parliament hill to administer the whirling roundhouse kick that disabled the armed muslim terrorist.
any reasonable canadian expects no less from their elected representatives.

  23. Liberal elite run riding for 20 years so McQuaig gets handed this no hoper to earn her NDP spurs?
    Hope she wins.
    Bet Malcair doesn’t.
Could you imagine contending with that gorgon on a day in, day out, basis for years on end?

  24. So Ms McQuaig thinks the Prime Minister of the country should have stood out to confront an armed and dangerous terrorist thug? She better learn a few things about how such matters are dealt with before shooting from the lip. Did she want to see all out carnage in the Parliament of Canada? Did she want the thug to gain bragging rights by possibly killing the Prime Minister and embolden others of his ilk?

  25. When I watched CTV news as PMSH was declared with his first majority Lisa the flame looked like her best friend had died and disapeared from the panel. She hates PMSH and every time she can read a news story that might make the Conservatives look bad she seems to be having a big O. Harper would be stupid to debate with her on the panel. She would protect Justin like candy bag Crowley did to protect Obama when Mitt asked about Bengazi.
Crowley was totally wrong and has since been let go by CNN.
CTV, and CBC love the liberals so any debate on their terms would be a tad Slanted to the Left
    Scott

  26. Oh yes Linda, whereas PM Harper “hid in a closet” we all know that under the same circumstances Clint Obama would have come out with a Colt 45 in each hand blazing’ his way through, saving the day for everyone, just as Justin would too – I’d just worried about those two knowing which way to point the gun.
