Maybe if the religious listened less to the “News” about #Gamergate and more to those involved they might not be losing their shirts in their own fight with the SJW’s over religious freedom. The truth of the matter is that playing nice and crowd sourcing a million for a pizza joint that shut down is a failing strategy.

The criticism of Christians seems a bit of a non-sequitur Lance. Allowing the SJW mini-Stalins to destroy peoples lives and livelihoods in a small town in Indiana is completely consistent with attempts to ridicule and control the gaming community. Both require a firm and ethical response.
If constitutions aren’t respected in Podunk, Indiana there is trouble ahead for all. Using legal and ethical means, such as crowd sourcing, to defend your constitutional rights is neither ant-Christian nor anti-libertarian.
Actually this whole thing is hilariously funny. SF readers and gamers never take well to having their choices dictated to them. And elitist pr*cks like Scalzi always seem to overlook the fact that SF literature started out and still maintains is roots as an underground literature, not establishment propaganda. Even a cursory skimming of Golden Age SF Amazing Tales covers and the like is all the evidence you need.
And so too do lots of SF fans as well. The notion of corralling them into political correctness is simply hysterically funny. There’s NOTHING more politically incorrect than a late night D&D session in its second day.
After all, they are always on the side of the Rebel Alliance against the Dark Empire of Darth Vader.

I’ve long preferred Baen to Tor for books. I couldn’t put my finger on why, but I just didn’t get the same “the future will be great” with the Tor books. At the same time, I used the Hugo and Nebula nominations the same way I use the academy award nominations: a list of what to avoid. The reasons for both now make a lot more sense to me.
