If you’re confused about the Saudi Arabia-led air attacks against Islamist rebels in Yemen and can’t tell one group of head-choppers in Iraq and Syria from another, don’t despair. All you need is imagination.
Close your eyes and imagine that those countries and terrorists have nuclear weapons. Imagine their barbarism going nuclear as they blow up cities, wipe out ethnic and religious groups and turn the region into cinders.
Now open your eyes and realize you’ve seen the future, thanks to President Obama’s policies. It is a future that will be defined by Obama’s Wars. Yes, plural.

  3. If Iran gets nuclear weapons, KSA will have a dozen on the next plane from Pakistan. The nukes will bolt-on to the Chinese made Saudi ballistic missiles, just like they bolt-on to the Chinese made Pakistani ballistic missiles.
    Soon Egypt, Turkey, and maybe even Morocco will be developing their own nuclear weapons. I doubt they will finish before someone else starts throwing nukes around.

  12. The Shia-Sunni war has been waged since 632AD. If Shiite Iran obtains nukes the Sunni Arabians will have to get them as well. MAD worked because the USA, UK, Russia and China were all governed by mostly rational people. The mullahs of Iran do not strike me as being very rational.

  13. Occam, you have given the isolationist point of view similar to that which was so prevalent in the US prior to the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbour. For better or worse since the end of WWII, the US has been cast as the world’s peace maker; notice I didn’t say peace keeper. Obama’s repudiation of that role since his election and re-election has created an untenable situation. There’s no one in charge and it is not going to end well.

    Agree with your premise, but non-interventionism will not work with Islam without sanctions and closed borders to them, as whether we like it or not Islam is at war with us.
    With protected borders, non-interventionism would work just fine, just let the dust/ sand settle.

    It may well come to that I am afraid. Obama wanted to change things…that my friends he has done. and it continues to amzaze me that no one has taken a shot at this Islamic POS.
    The other thing is this: Iran strikes a deal…and what of snactions.? does this mean their oil industry ramps up.? We could be looking at sub $10.00 oil folks. Seems to me that they along with others are storing vast amounts of crude on super tankers around the world…this is not going to end pretty by any stretch.
