  1. It’s important to note, to any young conservatives, that Danielle Smith’s value to the PC party of Alberta was for 1 press conference, and that’s it.
Don’t forget this when negotiating with those to your left.

  2. She may have helped expose RedFraud, but she abandoned the victims of Alberta Martial Law 2013 into the arms of the abusers.
Outside of inner city Edmonton and now shamefully parts of Calgary, Alberta is still a free and democratic Conservative province, some tend to forget that fact.

  3. Sooner or later the Progressive stripes show. Danielle’s were the reason Wild Rose lost as she simply didn’t have the guts to stand up to the media frauds who are her friends. If she thinks proggy Prentice is the answer, well, then good riddance you ignorant, principle free, traitorous, no-good, yellow bellied proghole.

  4. Don’t forget Lethbridge as another lefty spot. And it’s more of Calgary being leftist than you think.

  5. PC poppycock forcing expelling kids for doing the Pledge becuase some idiot pricipal is afraid some illegal aliens might be offended well if the Star Spangled Banner offends them then they can just go back where they came from one way no return

  6. When you look back on Danielle’s history you realize that she was simply the ‘hubcaps’ on some disgruntled oil exec’s bus. She could parrot the party line but ask her a question not on her cheat sheet and she was stuck for an answer. The only reason she accepted the leadership was because she is a narcissist with delusions of grandeur. When the rank and file were about to turf her as leader she decided to destroy the party she once led. Unfortunately like many narcissists she did command a cult following amongst her closest followers. To their own detriment they followed her lead and crossed the floor into villainous oblivion.

  7. Good riddance. Something must be wrong with the lady’s head. She came out of no-where when Special Ed thought he was going to hose the oil companies with increased oil royalties to maintain the socialist agenda. The oil companies switched their allegiance to Wild Rose. I don’t know that Smith ever fully understood what conservatives were all about. I don’t think she was comfortable with the Bible thumpers in the conservative coalition. I am exceedingly comfortable with the Bible thumpers as I respect their opinion without championing it.

  8. Sean >
“it’s more of Calgary being leftist than you think.”
oh gawd your probably right, I forgot about the hundred or so (That they know of) ISIS Islamic terrorists that Calgary’s Liberal left have invited in.

  9. I am soooo glad that broad is gone. And yes, that was a classy response to Vassy Kapelos. And Prentice’s budget has given me even more incentive to help – and vote for – the Wildrose.

  10. I had a lot of hope for her when she first came out to lead wildrose. Didn’t take too long to see it was never about Alberta or her constituents. It was all about her and a political vacuum that was easy to fill. Confirmed when she crossed the floor and voted on when they tossed her out. Just another opportunist that gambled and lost. Good thing she was white. You can do that with white people.

  11. Can someone point to any cuts? I have read a half dozen articles and all seem to agree Prentice laid out an austere budget.
I haven’t read about one sunshine lister being given a pink slip. Not one of the 177 vice presidents in AHS. Not one of the 200+ social media spin doctors. No assistant to the assistant middle navel gazing manager’s. I see new spending, new taxes and no apologies.
My wife and I just got $2500.00 poorer.

  12. She got what she deserved. I’ve always believed that anyone who crosses the floor be it provincial or federal should resign and go back to the voters for a new mandate. In a way her consituency have spoken.

  13. Prentice must be a fan of BC, the budget encourages DPs to return to BC, albeit to a similarly proggy. government. At least taxes here are “more stable” in comparison, and the winters are milder.
To Alberians everywhere, here’s your chance coming up to return a real conservative government, and stop propping up faux conservatives, over and over again. That should be the WR strategy. By not cutting the waste, Prentice has endorsed Redfraud’s massive government expansion.
No surprise though,, Prentice has always been a RED Tory

  14. Cuts? Bwhahahahahahaha. Prentice is a socialist goon. Prove me wrong. And yes, I just got poorer to. But oh well. The kids will save us (NOT).

  15. For all those of you who voted for Danielle and Wild Rose, does this now mean defeat might have been a blessing in disguise?

  16. Alberta is a “one industry town” and oil prices went down the toilet. That’s why you folks just got poorer.
The price of a barrel will go back up though, you can count on that.
    Question is: when?

  17. Tewchip, you don’t have a proper understanding of modern English. A government talks of cuts, the dependents of government (and media) talk of austerity. What it really means is a decrease in the rate of increase – and that in a situation of supposed zero percent inflation (yeah, right).

  18. Don’t worry, I’m sure Prentice will soon appoint her to some government post or committee studying something or other.
Very disappointed in Prentice. So glad he didn’t replace Harper.

  19. See ya, Danny!
    Just don’t come to Ontario.
We’ve got our own problems. We don’t need more.

  20. the business types in this province keep the PC ship afloat.
talk to anyone who owns a business, are they gonna vote WR? NoEffin Way.
i got this direct from 3 business types.
it goes to show that WR is opposition, the Libs/NDP/Green/ABParty/SocialCredit/Commies/etal are all alsorans. Fugeddaboutit.
its a two party show. the PC’s have just PO’d the middle class with tax hikes. where does that vote go?

  21. Dear people of Alberta: Welcome to Ontario. We feeeel your pain.
Any of you Western Separatists wanna comment on the utter meltdown of the Western Conservatives? Or just wait for another chance to take cheap shots at Ontario?
Bottom line, ladies and gentlemen. Put not your trust in princes, or in this case, princesses. Rather seek ye the massive, gigantic, all-conquering TAX CUT, that ye may starve the evil that is sucking you life’s blood, yea even unto its death of hunger.
Let them eat poo. So sayeth The Phantom

  22. She built her whole existance on a house of cards glued together by lies and the slandering of good people, she was propped up by the pump jack cowboys who were worried sick that the gravy train a lot of them ride currently would end and the freebies they now enjoy would end and the money would go where it should like roads and hospitals like it is in Saskatchewan. Once Eddie got the puffy to suck an extra daily golden egg from Albertas golden goose (oil companys) she realized some cash from pissed off oil boys who,( unlike pump jack cowboys) will pony up with their cash, she had some firepower. Now that Alberta has quit picking leaders like the royal family, and gone out of the gene pool to a businessman, (you will always end up with a Prince Charles when picking like the royal family), she has nowhere to go, her lies caught up to her and there are far to many smart people in Highwood to be fooled by this spoiled brat twice, they had the most honest MLA before this sillyness. So piss off lady.

  23. Good riddance Danielle. Amazing to see her crash and burn, and all entirely by her own doing. Like many others, she had me believing early on that she might be one of the few good politicians still left out there. Somewhat satisfying to see her publicly shamed now, after what she did to all those Wildrose supporters only a few short months ago.
Prentice must be laughing his ass off – as she still sucks up to him in her concession speech.

  24. Sad to say the NDP will do very well in Edmonton the next election. There are too many civil servants here now that will vote for them. That’s the big problem the PCs have when they keep expanding government. More civil servants, more votes for the socialists. I used to work in a building that has a lot of government offices. The last election when Wildrose was leading in the polls most of them I talked to were terrified. They were sure that if Wildrose got in there would be a lot of them losing their jobs. I heard many of them say “I don’t usually vote PC, but I will vote for them this time. Wildrose scares me.” So a lot of them voted strategically. They won’t do that next time. They’ll vote for the real thing.
The Liberals are very weak and their leader is even farther to the left than the NDP. And the unions seem to have scads of money. Hardly a day goes by that I don’t see or hear an ad by the Teachers, the Nurses or one of several union front groups that we have in Alberta that pass themselves off as grassroots organizations. Sadly our lap dog media run their press releases as if they are actual news item.

  25. “Party officials said 972 ballots were cast in the closely watched race, but refused to divulge the final tally for each candidate.”
This is because she got less than 30% of the vote.
“At least four PC cabinet ministers had campaigned for Smith — Gordon Dirks (education), Kyle Fawcett (environment), Jonathan Denis (justice) and Ric McIver (labour).”
Not to mention her pimp Diamond Jim Prentice. Now you know why they refused to release the numbers.

  26. She not only turned coat ,but at the time of the gun grab said nothing. In fact stood up for it. She was a red hearing from the beginning , as she tore asunder anything the Wild rose party believed in by watering down its conservative principles. Reminds me what the Tories did to the western concept party. They used ringers as well

  27. ” I have read a half dozen articles and all seem to agree Prentice laid out an austere budget.”
    >Here is what the Prentice Progressives E-Mailed to Me.
Yesterday, Robin Campbell and our Leader, Premier Prentice put forward a bold and transformative budget. It is a thoughtful, measured plan for short-term action and a better future for our kids and grandkids. It cuts government waste while investing in the future.
Here are some of the highlights from the budget:
    It protects frontline services.
Protects the jobs and salaries of vital frontline health and education workers.
Maintains funding for health and education services, increases funding for human services

It eases the burden on hard-working families.
Increases Alberta Family Employment Tax Credit. Families can receive from $346-763 more per year
New supplement for lower-income families – up to $3,850 per year.
Health Contribution Levy is progressive and protects lower- and middle-income families
It builds the schools and other infrastructure we need.
The funds to continue building necessary infrastructure – including 57 new schools and modernize 20 more
Funds health facility and capacity expansion projects across the province, including new long-term care beds for our seniors
It spends less and gets better value for tax dollars.
Reduces health administration by 1,695 positions and reduces health administration costs, overlap and duplication
Focuses on improving student assessment, achievement and teacher performance
    It maintains our competitive advantage.
Albertans will still pay at least $10.9 billion less in taxes than if Alberta employed the tax system of any other province.
Does not increase tax burden on small corporations. Economist and tax expert Jack Mintz points out that 1% increase in corporate taxes means 8,900 job losses, we can’t afford to cause more job losses at this critical time.
    >Make of that what you will. To me it means Alberta continues down the road of deficit spending and increased debt because of socialist spending policy and the corruption of using the provincial treasury to outright BUY the Public Sector UNION voting block against the overall interest of the majority of Albertans in order to keep the Prentice Progressives in power.
This does not change the formula of corruption started by Ed Stelmach and raised to a level which caused PUBLIC OUTRAGE in general to the citizens of Alberta by the elitist excesses of Alison Redford.
A pox on the Alberta PROGRESSIVE party, and faux conservative Jim Prentice in particular.
Wild Rose is the cure. After nearly 45 years in power with endless majority governments, Everything That is Wrong with governance, policy, and the economy in Alberta is 100% the making and fault of the Progressive Conservative Party of Alberta and it’s time Albertan’s called them to account for their corruption.
Support Wild Rose to end the PC corruption.

  28. Can anyone tell me why NO ONE (municipal, federal or party) reveals the actual vote count on an election anymore? Isn’t having the numbers part of the democratic process? Is there any way to force them to reveal the numbers??

  29. If Wild Rose has any political smarts, they will frame the next election exactly as it is…a contest between the Liberals(PC) and Conservatives (Wild Rose). A rose by any other name is still a rose, and a Liberal by any other name is still a Liberal.

  30. “Health Contribution Levy” has to be the most pathetic euphemism for Tax I have ever heard. And it’s not even going to health care.
Prentice seems to have left a few things out of his email. It doesn’t mention the dozens of taxes and user fees that have been increased or introduced. And those promised schools and hospitals will get punted down the road right after the election.

  31. I think it might have been and it might not have been. Although she has since shown herself to be much less than Wild Rose supporters thought at the time of the last election, it still could have been better for Alberta and for the PC Party there if the incumbents had been thrown out.

  32. “a Liberal by any other name is still a Liberal.”
You just nailed the campaign slogan for the Wildrose in the next election Diane.

  33. I have known Dr. Smith’s daughter since she was a pimply kid hanging out at gun shows and rallies hoping to “lead” disgruntled gun owners to victory over their Ottawa librano oppressors.
She fawened over Conservative icons like Tom Flanagan and dated rising stars in the conserva- sphere, this got her appointments in some tory think tanks and policy lobbies – then on to running for regional boards then a time looking for a provincial seat when WR party came along.
She was either a passionate conservative or an ambitious climber – I suspect a bit of both.
What ever happened between the PCs-Prentice-Smith and wild rose party in the wake of Stelmac’s Oil patch grab and Redford’s UN land grab and the High River martial law trial run break ins, is the stuff of political thriller novels – There is enough hidden agenda politics and malfeasance there to fill court rooms for a decade – but even in wild rose country we may never get the whole story because of the nature of back-room politics.
Best rule of thumb for Albertans who are passionate about keeping their province clean of rats and malevolent political syndicates, is to use a potent poision liberally where needed – the most potent poison for corrupt political regimes is a free press – failing that, vote out all incumbants just to be safe, and pick candidates who are totally unconnected to “networks”. As it stands now there is not a MPP who isn’t a part of this Redford con.

  34. Oz >
“Support Wild Rose to end the PC corruption.”
    Absolutely!
As far as the new Jim Prentice “Fairness Tax’s”
I for one will simply cut back on a variety of donations to make up the difference.
He didn’t hurt me; he only hurt those that routinely ask for help and or a handout.

  35. JJM >
“Alberta is a “one industry town” and oil prices went down the toilet. That’s why you folks just got poorer.”
Actually Alberta has a lot more industry than oilfield alone. Regardless it is the provinces cash cow, and when it goes down – so do the equalization payments to the have-not-provinces.
On another note, I’ve been begging for a major slowdown for years now. The “growth” has been too hot and unnecessary for the last decade. It’s time to clean house and send some of the malcontents packing back to their provinces and third world crapholes so that I can drive down Hwy#2 without bumper to bumper traffic again.
I see some good real-estate opportunities on the horizon as well.

  36. Well, I for one never gave up on the ideals of WRA. I am still on the board of directors and plan on staying put. All this B’S has fortified my own personal conviction. As far as Ms. Smith is concerned, when she magically converted to the church of Globull warming and political correctness after the 2012 election it seemed the cards started to fall. Hopefully Jean will stand tough and not try to please the progressives. We are conservative and need to stick to our principles.

  37. The infiltration of liberals into the PC party started with Ralph Klein after he crossed the floor. I had been hopeful that perhaps the infiltration of conservatives back into the PC party had started when the Wildrose members crossed the floor. Maybe I was wrong.
Calgary to Alberta, with its citizens with their hands out for money from the government is like Toronto is to Ontario (and Canada for that matter).

  38. I told you she was a Prog. I was concerned when I first read about Smuts after she gained WR leadership.
Anyone, and I mean *anyone* who claims to be “conservative” but *despises* social conservatives, IS NOT A REAL CONSERVATIVE!

  39. http://news.nationalpost.com/2015/03/29/don-braid-danielle-smiths-defeat-proves-she-should-have-listened-when-staff-shouted-dont-its-a-trap/
“When the floor-crossings were being decided last year, Wildrose staffers were literally shouting at Smith – “don’t, don’t, it’s a trap!”
She didn’t listen, and three months later the trap finally sprung with full power. The vote was about 60 per cent to 40 per cent in favor of her challenger, Okotoks councillor Carrie Fischer.”
Not even close to 40%. Braid is spinning the numbers a bit here. My sources are telling me 27.6% for Quisling with 6 spoiled ballots with some very pointed words written on them that can’t be repeated in polite company.
To the good folks in the Highwood riding…Well Done. 🙂

  40. Thanks Badbeta! Nice to see someone doing the job that the Press refuses to do, and revealing the vote breakdown.

  41. “…her closest followers. To their own detriment they followed her lead and crossed the floor into villainous oblivion.”
Paraphrased from Urban Dictionary – “A Judas goat is trained to lead sheep to slaughter, while its own life is spared. Judas goats are also used to lead other animals to specific pens and on to trucks.

  42. Took out a PC Membership on Saturday and voted for Carrie Fisher.
Best 10 bucks I ever spent!!!
Well, except for my Wildrose membership.

  43. Good for you. So is my brother in Airdrie.
Nilesmaxim, exactly. There are fiscally responsible liberals. Any anarchist can be for the disintegration of society.

  44. Not sure what we are celebrating here – you (or I) may not liked all of her moves but big picture she was a well spoken, small c conservative who ran an effective opposition, pulled 400k votes in Alberta and would have pulled votes from turdeau in Ontario in a federal role. A loss in my books..
