    Heard a comment today that the myth of universal health care is just that as we don’t have a health care system it’s actually a universal health insurance plan. A plan that also restricts how much health care can be provided by limits on the number of procedures the doctors can bill for during a billing cycle.
    It’s not a flaw in the system.

    Why is the media not picking up on this? Would PM Harper get away with such a disrespectful outburst?
    For any ISIS/ISIL supporters in Canada there’s no doubt where they can feel at home in the political realm.
    Trudeau and his brain trust offer nothing concrete on the issue either, they’re testing the political wind, it’s all about politics, not about the security of Canada and the world.

  28. @Hans: I rarely (very rarely) read anything on Grist. It’s just too predictable. In fact, it’s predictable by design. They are talking to themselves mostly and providing reassurance to a small far left group of readers that they are not alone. It’s a waste of time visiting a site when you already know what is going to be said.

    Fine if ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra decide to fight each other, we are OK with that; we’ll just take out the winners. The right doctrine is kill Islamists everywhere, anywhere, anyhow. We have no interest in whether Assad of ISIS or whatever Islamists are in charge in Syria. Our only interest is to prevent Islamists from gaining a territorial foothold anywhere. I understand the NDP are now arguing because they’ve decided it’s impossible to “defeat” ISIS, the government is wrong because they are trying to “defeat” ISIS; in their opinion of course so facts don’t matter.
    Apparently as well, unless our troops float above the battlefield in yogic fashion, we have “boots on the ground” so are involved in “combat.”
    Just because the enemy of my enemy is not always my friend, my enemy is always my enemy.

  33. Checking out National News Watch (Ottawa bubble) the media party is in full discredit and tsk tsk mode. Every story, support for war on ISIL dropping. Provinces close to Kyoto style accord with PM. Toews and a judge in hot water over some rent disagreement.
    Feeling way under the weather today. These don’t help.
    Caught the wife watching a couple of gays with a tv show Chris and someone. They were spouting off about how great the Panama games were for Trawna. I asked if they talked of the billions in cost over runs, or the firing of two CEO’s for illegal and expenses. Nope not a word.
    Oh my head hurts.
