On Oct. 26, 2012, Scissons sold three sheep to a group of Muslim men at his Ottawa-area farm. Three of the men then slaughtered the animals according to Islamic ritual in honour of the holiday Eid al-Adha. The three men weren’t charged with any crime.
“I never understood why these individuals were never charged,” Andrews said. “They confirmed during the investigation that they broke several counts of the law. Mr. Scissons didn’t participate (in the sacrifice). He doesn’t have a building or any tools that he gave to the individuals to perform the slaughter. I can only assume that the court wanted to avoid political fallout because (Scissons) is the only non-Muslim in this story.”

I am quite familiar with this case. It was definitely a case of selective enforcement by government agencies.
So, did the Muslims offer to pay his fine?
And if Mr Scissons had refused to let the muslims slaughter the sheep, he would have been accused of a hate crime. Catch-22.
Also if he were to lawfully take a deer on his property it is perfectly legal for him to gut, skin and butcher the carcass on site, many farmers do so.
This is very selective law enforcement indeed.
It’s not equal Justice for All in Canada. The scales are tipped decidedly in favour of those who believe their culture trumps Canada’s laws. This is our collective downfall.
Look how liberal idiots are messing up justice with their idiotoc ideas
Toady Judge Brian Mackey and all the toady public employees involved with this charge have, in effect, closed the door for this Islamic ritual for Muslims.
Shouldn’t Shiny Pony be outraged? and wagging his finger? The toads have insulted 1,000,000 Muslims.
Ha ! I don’t vote anymore and I don’t care about s#!£ like this .
Though I do enjoy these stories as they confirm that I am not crazy.
It’s the only way I can keep my sanity while I wait for THEM to come for me.
Good luck all !
Have we really reached the point where there are two sets of laws in Canada? If so, that is disturbing.
The farmer was just looking after the poor sheep folks.
He probably insisted on the sheep being slaughtered on his property to save them of the inevitable gang rape had they been taken out of sight.
ROBERT there are 4 set’s of laws in Canada.
1 for 85% of Canadians (that would be the normal tax paying Canadians)
2 the second set of laws are for the Indians i am talking about the tipi pipeline protesting reserve indians.
3 the third set of laws are for the muslims. nuff said here.
4 the fourth set are for the GLBTABCDEFG…..I am gay cross dressing transgender female types.
@BDT you are a useless lazy piece of amphibian poo and you are part of the problem, ” i don’t vote”
is one of the most selfish statements a person can make allowing a government to commit crimes in your name with out questioning their actions or motives makes you just as guilty as they are
You’re surprised by this…in the province of Caledonia?
This is interesting. It reveals the forces working in the Ontario and federal governments quite nicely.
The authorities don’t want barbarians randomly sacrificing animals to Allah. But because of LEFTY pressure groups, they are very clear they cannot apply the law to Mooselimbs directly. They can only go after White people.
So instead of punishing the miscreants who killed the animal, they go after the farmer, because he’s the only White guy in the story and he’s the only one who is presumed to Know Better.
White Man’s Burden, 2015 Liberal style. The soft racism of low expectations, the insidious corruption of Special Deal law enforcement.
Every enforcement officer in this case should be fired, as should the judge. It’s obscene.
Sacrificial Lambs. Would this be covered under the Trudeau Charter dictate “Freedom of Religion”?
Brutality/cruelty to animals is not something we in the civilized world in this 21st century should tolerate or allow for any reason without severe penalty.
What can we expect when this Conservative government is rolling in more and more plane loads of people who practice this cruelty?
Someone who allowed Muslims the free exercise of their religion is a criminal. I don’t get it.
This really a story about the stupidity of the nanny state. The same rules exist in Alberta. If I sell the sheep and it leaves my property, no problem but if they kill it before it leaves my property I will be charged. The world is being run by morons.
The cure for morons is hollow-point…
But, selective enforcement aside, what gets lost is the fact that a guy can’t slaughter anything for anybody else – Muslim, Mennonite, or Martian.
Huh? What are you trying to say? Scissons didn’t slaughter anything.
I am afraid you are right. See Paul’s post @11:44 AM.
Ontario, Canada’s leading candidate for “failed state” status.
Though Calgary is now leading the pack in: “Canadian Crown Prosecutor and Court ruling according to Sharia Law”.
It’s definitely no longer safe to be a Jew in Calgary, given the police policy, Crown prosecution and judicial ruling of the Hamas terrorist supporters who viciously attacked a Jewish family, as they stood peaceably across the street from a pro-Hamas demonstration last July.

Liberals think it’s OK if the scales of justice chick is peeking!
It’s rigged, we’re suckers.
Their boots on our necks for eternity.
The point here is that only in a tyranny can a man who committed no crime and had no culpability be convicted of a crime – our courts are celebrating the anniversary of Magna carta by giving its basic prmise the middle finger – justice reform in this nation is long over due,
Any judge that convicts an innocent man should trade places with him.
If he refused to allow this, would Scissons be brought up on a hate crime by the HRC?
On the other hand our non-elected lib judge made sure the Muslims in Canada will never do this again in Canada.
BTW: did anyone know that these were 3 animals out of 100,000,000 (100 million) scarified that day in the world … for the same ritual?
PETA really needs to go to Pakistan.
For the global warming alarmist – I don’t know know how many football fields of animals 100,000,000 are – I suspect it’s more than 7.
I just hope that Scissons either appeals this or gets his back up and demands to be jailed because this bullshit needs a lot more exposure to sunlight. He sold a legal product and had nothing to do with anything else if the story is correct. He should not be sacrificed in the name of political correctness. At least not without a fight.
Three thoughts:
1. Non-Muslims are now second-class citizens in Canada, and that’s discrimination, which the Charter of Rights is supposed to prevent.
2. Isn’t it the judge’s job to throw out selective-enforcement cases like this?
3. I’m glad at least the Toronto Sun has some inquisitive journalists on the ball, even if no other papers do.
Didn’t say he did. I’m just pointing out the stupidity of legislation regarding on-farm slaughter, butchering, etc.
Re: the I don’t vote.
Democracy is the biggest fraud perpetrated on the sheeple/serfs/slaves. The feudal Kings/rulers would be rolling in their graves if they only figured out to give the slaves a vote on who is the master and they willingly/happily give away half their labours/life to them. Even better it keeps the workers divided and focused ire on the other voters and not questioning the right of rulers/masters to keep stripping away their freedoms. Its the perfect set up of a con ever in history. enslavement is enslavement no matter how nice the cage appears to be.
“Democracy is the biggest fraud perpetrated on the sheeple/serfs/slaves.”
I disagree only in the sense that we have never had true democracy. We elect leaders who employ bureaucrats and decisions that have life altering implications are made by them rather than the leader or the people. A example would be our gun laws, abortion laws, civil laws, personal behavior laws and even laws that dictate our tolerance towards things we may personally find obnoxious , as in gay pride, niqabs , education perversion, HRC’s etc. In this form of democracy we have no input unless we can convince the leaders that bureaucrats have gone too far. Possible, but difficult and seldom removes the entire aggravation. A truer form of democracy would be with the Swiss where voting for change that affects a country town or village is brought down to a personal level with plebiscites that do not have to wait until the next election. Done before the new law/regulation can be implemented. Voter turnout is also much higher on important issues because your vote actually means something. So I agree with you that our democracy leaves something to be desired as far too many things are being pushed down our throats that we have no say in. Still better than socialism but the two forms of governance continue to merge into one bastard system that was never meant to exist in its original intention. We do not have majority rule, we have bureaucratic and activist rule, and no one elected these rulers. That’s not democracy. We let that happen bit by bit over time and I doubt if we will ever get the chance to bring democracy back.
