  1. That fee setup is a good metaphor for the “situation on the ground” here. And I really wonder what percentage of total costs the fees cover… would be surprised if it’s 1%. Oh and they’ll get you coming and going too.. cause if you have kids they’ll eventually be flown, bussed and hotelled to see this thing.

  2. There’s an old joke about the price for a pound of brains; I’ll only give the punch line:
Lefty brains are very expensive because of the large number of lefties you need to kill to get a pound of brains.

  3. I suppose they should just put a sign outside that states “If your not brown, turn around”, after all facilities like this only attract the faithful.

  4. Of course they have a racist admission policy. Its a museum that wouldn’t exist without racism. The old traditional racism is pretty much gone so they have to make new racism or go out of business.
Incidentally, is that place every bit the blot on the local landscape I think it is? After seeing what the liberals did to the Royal Ontario Museum, CHRM must look like a wart on a troll’s butt.

  5. While this garbage museum never was on my to do list, I certainly won’t be stopping in now.
Did you know that you can cross Manitoba in 5.5 hours?

  6. Surely you do not expect indians to pay to see how horrid white people have treated them over the years. The madness of pandering to the less motivated will be a big part of our undoing.

  7. Tamarax “Did you know that you can cross Manitoba in 5.5 hours?”
Apologies to Kate but I used to drive across Saskatchewan at night. Pulled out of Winnipeg after work and hit Alberta about sunup. Actually the route from Yorkton to Lloyd isn’t bad but the soul sucking road through Regina ain’t purty.

  8. Can get for the Big Joke (Toronto) to singhcover in about that time:-)))
So, I, as an immigrant who had all sorts of “racist” shit thrown at me, and with a gypsy heritage, more shit thrown at me, and who pays taxes that these free loaders surf on, have to pay to get in while the beer store warriors get a free pays? Yup, she’d be fly over, and that’s all!

  9. When did “free admission” get to be a human right? Sounds like a discriminatory practice to me. And since it’s come up again, I’m getting really tired of the “Indigenous Peoples” schtick. I’m not “first nations” (i.e. of Asian descent), but I’m indigenous, as were my parents, and so were most of theirs. Lots of my ancestors dressed up in funny clothes and danced and sang funny songs and stories too. An awful lot of “card carriers” are not indigenous to this land known as Canada either… Tired of the racist hypocrisy and bigotry.

  10. That is one ugly building, how much did the tax payer get fleeced on that? Parking the Jihadi Ford Conversion from the previous article can only make it look better.
Is there even anything tangible inside worth looking at or is it just an eccentric office for a select few bureaucrats.

  11. Enviromentalism cuases brains to shrink just look at Greenpeaces stupid stunt in Peru

  12. “That is one ugly building, how much did the tax payer get fleeced on that? …”
The final bill isn’t in yet.

  13. No need to bother prospective patrons for status-cards and such. Just look for the “high cheek-bones”. Ask Senator Warren.

  14. And it took so incredibly long to build. I saw it almost every day when I lived there (moved away August ’14) and for a few months they would install a pane of glass, next day move it, next day switch it out, lather, rinse, repeat. Your tax dollars at work.

  15. One can only laugh cynically at this; Chief Derek Nepinak with his six figure salary gets in FREE,while the poor Asian kid who works his way through college part time at MacDonald’s has to pay $15!
That museum has to be the ugliest building in all of Manitoba.

  16. Only a matter of time before whites will be charged double and Jews will be banned outright.

  17. “Only a matter of time before whites will be charged double and Jews will be banned outright.”
And Islamists will also be allowed free admission.
There. Fixed that fer ya,Eskimo :):)
    (Say….isn’t “eskimo” racist???)

  18. It will be mandatory attendance for all CBC/CTV and Global employees and you will be handed out little whips for atonement with your ticket which must show some blood before you reach the native pavillion.
So far we are into this pork barrel for well over 350 million and without huge taxpayer support it will fold like a wet cardboard box. Atonement is expensive, and even more so when you have nothing to apologize for. All natives exempt from atonement as they are perfect human beings.

Letter from John Ferguson to William Claus, Deputy Superintendent General, Indian Affairs, 5 March 1819, concerning threats made by Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte to passers-by; the influence of white lumbermen over the Mohawks; lineage (in relation to a General Order on 2 November 1818 that presents should not be given to the descendants of Europeans):
“Will not a difficulty arise, as to who these people are?
In the Mohawk village here, a large proportion are the
immediate (perhaps the second generation) descendants
    of Germans
; there is also a family of immediate
descendants of Africans: Are they to be considered as
Indians? There are also some descendants of
Americans, whose ancestors were Europeans. Will they
come within the intention of the Order? In fact there are
but few real Indians amongst them.”

  20. By God,you’re right JT! Eskimo IS racist!
Ya better change that to “Person of Inuit Ancestry”, Eskimo, before the HRC gets to ya.

  21. The same one who des Denver Airport Yeah never ever mix Suarian Brandy and Romulan Ale

  22. Last I read it was $300 million. But who really knows. I, for one, welcome our new “social infrastructure” overlords. On the upside the new mayor doesn’t appear to be a complete lying thieving scoundrel, so far. Ah well it’s just a place like any other. Gotta… make..it..through..another..winter.

  23. As far as I know, I’ve met three Eskimos in my life. The first two were at university 40 years ago and were called Eskimos. The last one I met a few years ago called herself an Eskimo because she wanted me to know from where she came. Two points. One – Eskimo is supposed to be raw meat eater (duh!)in Algonquin. Two – no-one told the Algonquins.

  24. I had absolutely no intention of ever attending this monstrosity, even if paid to do so. The preferential entry fees are irrelevant to me, other then to demonstrate what I already knew: That this ridiculous construct is not about human rights at all.

  25. Thanks for that Peter. It was good to read that the relativists didn’t get their way with the word genocide (July 2013 point).

  26. “CHRM must look like a wart on a troll’s butt.”
Actually, it’s worse than that. It is an oversized, massive piece of modernistic architecture sitting in the middle of what was previously an attractive river flood plain. It’s more like a troll on wart’s butt!

  27. The museum that Canadian Taxpayers have paid hundreds of millions of dollars to build, and now taxpayers are paying tens of millions of dollars to operate, is a very poor example to showcase and talk about rights and discrimination, with this type of decision. They should have to explain this one to Canadian taxpayers and they don’t have a “coherent answer” because it is impossible to have one if your raison d’etre (“reason for existence”) is to expose human rights, racism, discrimination, favouritism, and partiality.

  28. What a farce,Oh well move it into the Air Force Budget, they need a big target to practise on.
    Museum of human rights?
WTF? How about a museum of past responsibilities?
Those things which mark an adult and active citizen of a civilization?
However encourage them free admission for Indians, the Homelesss, the addicted and the clueless..
Why not? These are the only canadians who will get any good out of this ugly joke.

  29. Not really much of a surprise that the museum would offer free admission to natives.
Canada has race laws and continues to apply them. Check out the game laws.

  30. Hey, why bother with “status cards”, wouldn’t it be more efficient less costly and easier to recognize if we simply had symbols and markers sewn on to everyones clothing…? You know, like Yellow stars for the Joos, rainbow flags for the fags@lesbos, the hammer@sickle for “Liberals”@Progs, and a big “R” for all the rest of us “racists”? Nothing screams “Human Rights” more than the imposition of apartheid.

  31. When I think about it, it’s a truer reflection of ourselves than those other options. That giant crystalline dog turd is the most honest art exhibit around.

  32. Best reason to stop in Manitoba is a greasy spoon joint called The SALISBURY HOUSE and their burger called the Nip. As late night fix went, that was it.
This human rights thing is only a taxpayer sewerhole. When the wind is blowing down Portage & Main and it is 40 below, who in their right mind will say “Let’s head out to Winterpig this winter for vacation. After all we can skate on the Athabaska River and see the humane rights museum.””first”(recorded) immigrants. It is getting pathetic and tired. Give me the wage of a chief and perks any day.
