Why the FBI felt it necessary to make an “International Spectacle” of themselves instead of just blaming it on “Anonymous” (cough, front, cough), is beyond me…
Unless you think it might have something to do with the proposed laws on Internet regulations….

Still won’t go see the film. It appears to be a scam to bolster ticket sales.
Pretty low on the give a rodents rectum scale.
Could have been paid by the norks. They probably recruited via linked in even. I always tell people that physical security is the only thing that matters in IT. If you don’t lock the server room why have a firewall?
“Progressive accounting” – How is she in cahoots with Alison Redfraud and Alison’s finance ministers……
As I noted before…

It’s political codswallop writ large as black farce.
Besides the Kim Jong…family are big American movie fans…

Merry Christmas!
Suspected that disgruntled employees had something to do with it. And they may have had good reasons to be disgruntled.

It’s about the Star Wars money. NK is a big threat to neighbors, but not very profitable one unless they could have ICBMs. Since they don’t, the US govt loves to weave tall tales about NK threats, technology, etc.
The idea Sony did this themselves is ridiculous. The film angle was an after-the-fact cover story. The leaks were too targeted and personal.
obumbles will probably have some poor schmuck, who had nothing to do with it, thrown in jail for it, just like the Ben Gazy case. ‘Cept this time he wants to “socialize” the internet, not cover his a$$.
EMP, did you fry your brain? A pissed off, X to be, employee would make things very personal.
Korean? Seems to be a Muslimina by the name.
She used to worked for a company called Eye Candy.
Lance, why are you so quick to rule out stupidity?
With THAT resume she calls herself a Systems Administrator/Analyst? She barely qualifies for tier 1 applications support! A Gamma at best…
The fact that this alleged North Korean hack job attacked an American company and not a South Korean bank is all the red flag one needs.
If it turns out that she really did this inside hack and left a trail so small that the “experts” were at a loss as to who did it for several weeks, Sony should immediately re hire this girl and put her in charge of cyber security. She’s that good.

what self-respecting bleeding edge hacktivist doesn’t have a myspace page?

Proof positive that you always take a huge risk when you hire minorities!
I don’t know who did it, but they seemed to have a pretty keen sense of what would seem sensational to an American audience and also what would embarrass Sony executives. I think that sort of rules out the NorKs, or at least means they had help from somebody who knew the business.

I agree. Under languages at the bottom it says, “html” and only html. No SysAdmin worth their salt doesn’t have Shell, Perl, PHP, Python, and at least rudimentary C and Java. If they are guru’s, they’ll have Sed, Awk and M4 listed, even though no one who hires will recognize them.
Hmmm if she looks really like her profile picture then I volunteer to do a indepth interview with her over a bottle of Merlot.
People who don’t actually know how enterprise system administration is done really should refrain from trying to pass judgement.
She’s a junior finance DBA. Anyone who’s actually had an SA job knows that job titles don’t mean squat, and that knowing obscure text manipulation languages from the 1970’s simply means you’re old.
