According to early reports: An Air Asia plane travelling from Surabaya, Indonesia to Singapore has lost contact with air traffic control, Indonesia’s Metro TV reported on Sunday.
Reuters: … the plane had asked for an unusual route before it lost contact.

Even if there was a russkie MILITARY aircraft in the area running blacked-out, you can bet your bottom rain forest tree he had his radar on, and would of known of any aircraft within 200NM at any altitude of his position. Unless Asia Air is running stealth pax flights now?

There is a (Canadian) company called Star Navigation that has been selling this technology for several years. Costs a few grand per plane I heard. Some airlines already have it on all their planes.

At least this time there is none of the pathetic media rumors that the plane could have been hijacked and landed on a hidden airstrip on some mysterious island,somewhere. Or maybe wafted off into another dimension… cue the twilight Zone intro.
Nowadays when a modern aircraft disappears the answer is painfully simple: it crashed or was blown up by a dedicated bomber on board.
