Yup, that’ western togetherness. Just like the nationalism that Maple Loaf’s fans argued a few years ago that Boston was really the Canadian team playing for the Stanley Cup because the Vancouver team was mostly foreigners. Hamilton isn’t Toronto, but it’s close enough for me. Go Stamps!

Does the CFL have an emerging demographic problem in their fan base? I do not want to generalize (although I guess I am) but I don’t think as many people under 35 care about the CFL.

Perhaps Hamilton was confessing to a special predilection among it’s football players that, though trendy now, doesn’t equate to victory on the field against real football players.
Calgary should smack the Puddy-tats by at least two touchdowns, unless both teams are again inflicted with the CFL flu that causes every receiver to drop most of the passes thrown his way.

I have to say the quality of football in the CFL has been dismal this year, I really don’t think there is a competent coach in the league.
As a Calgary resident, I’ve never liked the Stampeders organization. Hamilton might as well win it.
YOU should coach Paul. Everyone else is incompetent, move to Hamilton please. Coaching is way harder than bitching, this is a damn good game to watch the CFL.
I assume you mean the Ticats will show up for the game by 4 PM, unfortunately the game starts at 3PM so they should be well behind by then! 😉
I don’t think there has been such a “sure thing” in sports since the early days of NHL expansion when the St.Louis Blues would represent the expansion division every year against the Montreal Canadiens or Boston Bruins. The Blues put up a good fight against teams that had better players on their farm clubs than the Blues iced in the NHL.
And they always lost.

Yup they should air the Grey Cup game. Effin c*cksuckers play the “significantly cultural” card every 15 minutes but the Grey Cup final just doesn’t count. I turned on the TV to find some idiotic sitcom that, even muted, managed to push its PC messaging in 30 seconds. There isn’t much I turn on the TV for. Last time was the Ottawa shooting, before that was the olympics.
I saw Wynne on the news starting to talk about her bet with the other Premier.
To make the game really exciting, I thought that if Hamilton loses, Wynne should have to balance the Ontario budget next year and make electricity from Ontario the cheapest in North America.

I was in Vancouver (though not at the game) during the 2011 Stanley Cup Final. When Vancouver lost the crowd poured into the street and smashed windows, burned vehicles as well as other foolishness. I was at the 2011 Grey Cup game and when Vancouver won, the crowds poured into the streets and went home. A different bunch entirely.
Just a small pre-game quibble: the Grey Cup was carried on to the field by two RCMP officers, one of each sex, although LGBT cops weren’t represented,and both were white.
To better reflect the diversity of our great Nation, in future shouldn’t the Cup be carried on to the field by an Imam and a First Nations Chief?
So its between the home of Nenshi and Copps…. Can’t they both lose?

Lets consider that Kent Austin decided to kick a meaningless field goal instead of going for it on 3rd down. Hamilton had their chance and lost it on bad coaching. Its been like this in the CFL all year long.
Hufnagel, doesn’t seem to enforce any kinda discipline on his team. Stampeders players seem to make jack arses of themselves on every play making that dinky little hand motion to call for flags and dancing around like idiots for every little thing.
