  1. Grant Mitchell: a Liberal Senator from Alberta. That is all all you have to know about this guy to know he is a dufuss! Check out his ‘stellar’ record as leader of the Liberal Party of Alberta. Being a serial loser is what gots you appointed to the Senate by the likes of Chretien et al.
p.s. Kate, are you offended you didn’t get hacked by the great big sea?

  2. Mr Fatah opened a can o’ wupp ass and poured it all over that Senator who should have known better than to make such specious remarks. He tried, unsuccessfully in this case, the old progressive “I’m better than you” smear – make unsubstantiated allegations, build a narrative/meme around them, then frame “questions” based on those fallacious conclusions – which are now apparently “fact” – to demonstrate moral superiority. Well, he failed – badly – because he met someone who didn’t take his BS or treat him with kid gloves.
We need more leaders like that – Margaret Thatcher, my favourite politician, comes to mind:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okHGCz6xxiw
Compare her to Katherine Wynne and you get a good idea of the intellectual gulf between realists and progressives.
When one decides their opinions are “fact,” then accuses anyone who disagrees with their “facts” of being a liar, we have the beginnings, the seeds, of totalitarianism.
Shame on Senator Mitchell, he has discredited himself and, as Mr Fatah pointed out, the Senate of Canada with his scurrilous and idiotic line of questioning.

  3. Tarik speaks truth to spin and does it well …… but it won’t do any good. Liberals (i.e., liberals in the general sense) are the same everywhere. It’s a mental condition that only extreme treatment, a near death experience in fact (or maybe one step beyond), will cure.
Listen. Understand. That liberal progressive is out there. He or she can’t be reasoned with, can’t be bargained with. They don’t feel pity or remorse or fear and they absolutely will not stop. Ever. Until you are dead.
(Slightly modified but with all due credit to the movie)

  4. Here’s a question:
I remember Grant Mitchell from before and that doesn’t seem like him. Was Mitchell such a Pollyanna blatherist before he went to Ottawa, or has several years out there turned him into one?
Follow-up question: How long is it safe to stay in Ottawa before it turns you goofy?

  5. You too, eh? ;
    Dear Senator Mitchell,
I just viewed your exchange with Mr. Tarek Fatah.
Boy, did you ever look and sound stupid. Spanked, you were.
Out here in the country, all the kids are singing, “Mitchee is a wee-wee, Mitchee is a wee-wee,….”
    Yours truly,
    Jamie MacMaster

  6. Tarek Fatah is a Marxist. He is also an admirer of terrorists:
    1. Palestinian terrorist Leila Khaled
    2. Communist terrorist Nelson Mandela
    3. Bolshevik terrorist mastermind Vladimir Lenin
Fatah has no moral right to discuss security threats to Canada.

  7. Fatah has no moral right to discuss security threats to Canada.
    HEEEE, Heee, heeee………..
Now, back to your usual sites….

  8. I don’t know what else he may have said/done,
but I have no problem with what he has said here,
or with his qualifications to say it, if what he said is true.
He was not discussing Marxism, he was discussing Islam.
If there is something wrong in what he said, point it out.

  9. Bravo!!!
I was seriously feeling sick to my stomach listening to that weasley imp at the beginning. Too think he has some sort of legal right to call himself a Canadian Senator is disgusting beyond words.

  10. Good for Tarek Fatah! It’s about time someone blasted these lousy actors!
It’s politically correct cowards such as the Senator that prevent any problem from being honestly and frankly discussed, all because he is afraid of offending a voting constituency.(Yes I know Senators are appointed, but the Party whose ass they’ve kissed for years has to suck up to every demographic, just in case).
It doesn’t matter what the subject at hand is, aboriginal women, Muslims, gays, Indians, blacks, the pc’s prevent any advance because they refuse to recognize that any “community” has inherent problems that have to be rooted out before they can be fixed.
When to even suggest a group has issues results in an attack on the person and cries of racist, there can be no debate, just more going around in pc circles solving nothing.
I wonder if the former-Liberal Senator is one who is currently crying out for an inquiry into violence against Indian women, another useless exercise, as is the one depicted on the video.
We can’t afford to continue with these expensive theatrical performances unless they actually start to solve some of the issues of concern.

  11. Here’s my note to the ‘honourable gentleman.’
Please let me express my gratitude for you being such a complete a$$hole and to give Tarek an opportunity to grind you to a withering slimy pulp. You deserved it.
It was a joy to watch!

  12. Every House and Senate committee meeting I’ve ever been at is much like that. The politicos on both sides of the street are expert at putting words in the mouths of delegations whose viewpoint they oppose. One of the best at this dubious art was Jack Layton particularly when he was City of Toronto Councillor and chair of the Board of Health.

  13. Yes, I expect that most of us that frequent here know that Fatah is a Marxist, but one of our allies during WWII was actually an enemy and our leaders decided to make common cause with that enemy to defeat a greater enemy. I’m sure that Churchill held his nose.
At the moment I am more concerned with dumbbells like the Senator doing their best to undermine our western civilization.
So, good for Terek Fatah for exposing the idiot.

  14. I guess it would be a bit tacky to say that Mr Fatah handed the lieberal senator his head on a platter… but he did. 😉

  15. Mitchell is a snivelling little dhimmi. He has made his weakness apparent to the Islamists.
It will not do him a lick of good in the end.
Fatah’s smackdown was a thing of beauty. This is how every liberal/leftist should be treated. These guys aren’t misinformed children. They are willing idiots, weak bullies, tyrants wearing velvet gloves, wet noodles and Puritans of the worst sort. Smackdowns of this kind are a public good.

  16. I hate Hate HATE that pedantic extended finger politicians do. My impulse is break it. The Muslim guy is doing it too. It’s like duel of the pedantic extended finger.

  17. As if anything good could, or will come of any hearing with such a knowingly stupid and arrogant imbecile on it’s panel?
Dissolve the senate, fire them all and cut my taxes.
“Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.”
    George Washington

  18. Now I see why the Shiny Pony cut brain dead senators like this from the Liberal brand. Unfortunately though, the Pony and remaining Liberals spout exactly the same shite.
Hats off to Mr Fatah for schooling this jerk!

  19. Tarek is a personal friend and a terrific fella and he’s not a raging bolshie.
He’s far more practical than that.
But he does come from the Bob Rae line of fiddling around a little left of center.

  20. Don’t forget that Fatah is a firm believer in Affirmative Action.
He may talk a good game here but he doesn’t believe in basic Civil Rights. To me that’s problematic. He may not like Islam but other than that I have no use for the man.

  21. Not to defend the senator, but most muslims do not know what they are praying. The prayer is said in Arabic and most muslims do not understand the language, but they know how to recite the prayer. Unfortunately virtually all politicians are comfortable with being naive on the subject of Islam. They believe what they are told by the purveyors of the religion.

  22. I have a lot of respect for the man, as he must face intense pressure and scorn from those in his community.
Tarek’s politics are usually on the left side of the aisle and although I disagree vehemently with much of what he says, this goes to show that there are wise and good people on both sides of the ledger. He is a good man with a good heart.

  23. The link that Eastern Paul included was really interesting to me because the whistle blower on the financial scandal, Jim Darwish … is my uncle.
I knew he had problems that resulted from exposing a financial issue in Alberta, but never knew the full story and certainly not how far back it extended. He is a brilliant but somewhat acerbic guy with a wicked sense of humour. He and I would probably not agree on a lot of environmental stuff, but he is a man of integrity.

  24. An excerpt of Tarek Fatah’s analysis published a couple of days ago on Sunnews.
    He’s an exemplary Canadian patriot.

    TAREK FATAH | TORONTO SUN
On Monday, I appeared before the Senate Standing Committee on National Security and Defence. The committee is studying the question of security threats to Canada as well as ‘de-radicalization’ efforts being promoted by the RCMP.
I suggested to the senators that ‘de-radicalization’ initiatives by Canada’s security agencies were doomed to failure because the very men and women partnering with the RCMP in this exercise were not just part of the problem, but in many ways the cause of radicalization.
For example, in mosques across Canada, our Friday congregation begins with a prayer to Allah for a victory of Muslims over the kufaar (Christians, Jews and Hindus). In such a climate, relying on Islamic religious clerics and Islamists to fight radicalization is like employing the fox to guard the chicken coop.
Some senators looked at me with incredulity, taken aback by what I had said.
I suggested to the senators that some Islamic clerics are taking us for a ride. For example, a Canadian cleric, a white convert to Islam who is touted as a ‘de-radicalization counsellor’ by the RCMP, was last week in the Gulf Emirate of Qatar, holding meetings with the leadership of the Taliban.
On his Facebook page, this RCMP de-radicalization counsellor wrote:
“I am meeting with the head of the Taliban Embassy in Doha, Qatar and we are working on a treaty that would state clearly that the Taliban (Mujahideen) don’t condone vigilante violence, criminal acts or terrorism in non-Muslim countries.”
De-radicalization, I told the senators, was just an empty meaningless word. The real challenge was to prevent radicalization and this required confronting the rhetoric of political Islam rather than appeasing those who fanned religiosity and made Muslims believe their first loyalty was to Islam, not their community of fellow Canadians and Canada.
“To ask ‘former radicals’ to de-radicalize radical Islamists is like asking Marxists to convert Communists into liberal democrats,” I told the committee.
It also seemed the senators were surprised to hear that, contrary to conventional wisdom, most Muslim Canadians do not consider their mosque imams to be their community leaders. In fact, most Muslims are not linked to any mosque whatsoever.
One senator asked, if not the clerics, who were the real leaders of the community?
She seemed surprised when I said “Members of Parliament” and those elected to lead us.
The challenge, I said, is to prevent radicalization and the way to do so was to:
    1. Lay hate speech charges against any Muslim cleric who hides behind religious rights as he attacks and demonizes other religious faiths or people of no faith at all.
    2. Every mosque must be monitored for such hate speech where the word ‘kuffar’ is invoked to hide the real target – Hindus, Christians and Jews.
    3. Any mosque indulging in active politics must have its charitable status revoked.
    4. Donations of more than $20 at all religious institutions must be made by cheque or credit card to cut off the possibility of money laundering.
    5. Ally with anti-Islamist Muslims from among the victims of Islamist oppression – the Kurds, Baloch, Darfuris and Iranian exiles.
    6. Treat the PKK (Kurdish Workers Party) and the MeK (Iranian Resistance) as allies, not adversaries.
And finally I recommended that immigration from Pakistan, Somalia, Iran, Iraq and Syria must be suspended until Canada can be assured that security documents, identity papers and university degrees cannot be bought on the black market or from state agencies.

  25. If this Fatah character is such a great Canadian patriot then why haven’t the so called radical muzzies taken him out yet? I first heard and saw Fatah on television over a decade ago and when he opened his mouth my alarm bells went off. I realize I am with the minority on this thread, but my opinion of this wolf in sheep’s clothing has not changed one little bit. You can hammer my opinion all you want, I don’t give a shit, but he ain’t no patriot, not a Canadian patriot, he’s muzzie. Full stop. Most of you commenters are not seeing the big picture with this guy. You hear his pretty little words and swoon and fall for the lies.
One last point. When the war against islam really gets going and push comes to shove, which side will this kindly old gentleman side with, the real Canadian patriots or the savages? I think you already know the answer to that if your honest with yourselves. Now fill your boots with your slurs against me, I don’t much give a damn what dhimmis think of me.

  26. ‘If this Fatah character is such a great Canadian patriot then why haven’t the so called radical muzzies taken him out yet?’
You have to be killed before your patriotism isn’t challenged? Interesting point of view.

  27. Ah, I see you’re incapable of getting the point. Muslims kill apostates from their death cult. They obviously don’t think Fatah is an apostate for some reason.

  28. ignorance is bliss, and you must be ecstatic. When opinions don’t agree with your mind set you trash them out of reaction rather than reason. Fatah is against radical islam and always has been. I don’t see you or many others in here speak out against biased and stupid Christian remarks. But that doesn’t mean that I think you aren’t aware of such bias and stupidity.

  29. ‘When opinions don’t agree with your mind set you trash them out of reaction’
That’s rich coming from you of all people. Then you proceed to call me ignorant. At least I use my own name when I comment, not some childish 666 bullshit. Anyway, enough. I’ve made my point, you’ve made yours. I do not wish to anger Kate by having a pissing match with you. My comment on Fatah stands as written. Get over it.

  30. Tarek Fatah, Hirsi Ali, Mark Steyn, Geert Wilders, Salman Rushdie, Ezra Levant and many others receive death threats from muslims constantly with Ali and Wilders under 24/7 protection.

  31. All Terry is saying is that when push comes to beheadings he feels Tarek will side with the Islamists.
I believe that to be true of the majority of “peaceful” Muslims. Yes, they are nice people but when Sharia comes a knockin’ they will submit rather than fight, meaning they will side with the terrorists.
Tarek, however, is one of the few to speak up against the terrorists so we need to support him and others like him.
NME, you mention stupid Christian remarks. I find the most stupid things come out of Progressive’s and Atheists mouths.

  32. Terry Anderson >
I think the overwhelming consensus is, “we’ll take what we can get”.
Waking up the western Liberal twit, or ESPN armchair conservative to the evils of Islamic immigration is like turning around the Titanic not a rowboat.
It’s about time the invisible so called “Moderate Muslims” stepped up to the plate, and this is what we’re getting with Tarik Fatah.
The ONLY thing that will get through to centrist Liberals will be the opinions of brown or black people. We can forget the hardcore left.
There can be a lot of reasons Muslims haven’t actively targeted Tarik Fatah. For one they know the power of Martyrdom better than anyone else. Additionally Muslims are well known for “not sh*ttting in their own back yard” until their demographics approach +5%.
Canada is a premier Islamic Jihadist sanctuary for raising money and educated recruits for their cause; they’re not going to generate that kind of trouble at least at this stage to interfere with immigration and other illegal activities.

  33. ‘I think the overwhelming consensus is, “we’ll take what we can get”.’
Yeah…it’s not much is it. Wasn’t it Turkey’s president who said there are no moderate muslims, only muslims.? Something along those lines. We’re so damned politically correct it will end up killing us. Moderates, radicals, friendlies, un-friendlies. I tend to agree with the guy in Turkey. There are only muslims, not hyphenated muslims. Thanks for you input, Knight.

  34. Fatah’s daughter is one of those many ethnic ladies on the CBC — Natasha Fatah.
I am sure he somehow got her that job.

  35. OMG bour3, that is exactly what I was thinking… I didn’t really notice Fatah doing it, but I imagined myself grab the Senator’s finger, break it off, and jam it in his eye socket.

  36. Praying in a language that isn’t their native tongue… not that unusual my friend, although as an old Catholic a lot of prayers and mass was in Latin. Big difference was as kids going to the school of nuns and old spinsters, we were taught the translation.
