  2. Fascinating to watch and sad in many ways, but most of us grew up in the “Elvis” era.
    When Elvis Presley hit the road in June 1977, he was an absolute mess.
    He was only 42, but years of prescription drug abuse and horrifying dietary habits had left him bloated, depressed and near death.
    He had an enlarged heart, an enlarged intestine, hypertension and incredibly painful bowel problems. He was barely sleeping and should have probably been in the hospital, but he was still a huge draw on the concert circuit and the money was too good to turn down. It had been over a year since Elvis last released a studio album, and manager Colonel Tom Parker was determined to get more product into the stores. Despite Elvis’ horrid shape, Parker arranged for a camera crew to film the June 19th show in Omaha for a planned TV special and live album. It eventually aired on CBS two months after Elvis died, and has yet to resurface in any official capacity. This isn’t the Elvis that his estate wants the fans to remember. Two days later, the cameras were still rolling when the tour hit Rapid City , South Dakota. It was another weak and sad night until Elvis sat down at the piano near the end to deliver a spellbinding rendition of ” Unchained Melody .” As guitarist Charlie Hodge held a microphone, Elvis dug deep and poured his heart into the song. His body was falling apart, but his voice remained almost as powerful as ever. Without any doubt, it’s the last great moment of his career. The tour limped along through five more shows, wrapping up June 26th at the Market Square Arena in Indianapolis , Indiana. The show ended with “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” He died less than two months later.

    While I realize that it would be somewhat difficult for the CBC to recognize a substance that causes brain damage, and even more difficult for the government sponsored network to realize the condition itself, I do believe that the above article is completely inaccurate.
    No. 1 error, the ad is not a Tory ad, it’s sponsored by Health Canada.
    No. 2 error, the story claims that the ad is being mocked on Youtube. Like hello CBC?? Where does Youtube advertise itself as a medical facility??
    No. 3 The CBC reports that many of the claims against the use of marijuana are exaggerated.

    I’ve been doing more research on that CBC.Ca story about the anti-pot ad. A story that is so inaccurate, you can almost see Justin Trudeau cheering it on with one hand, and passing out $100 bills to CBC reporters with the other. Now I went to Youtube and found out that not all that many people are ridiculing the ad.

  12. Why do we have a state funded broadcaster in a democracy? The CBC has become so bent to the Liberal Left it’s running interference with our democratic process at all levels. It’s a Canadian Broadcasting Cesspool pushing it’s agenda to oppose the present Conservative government.
    Tinkering with facts to manipulate opinion poses a dangerous threat to our safety and security. At a time the world is fighting Islamic terrorists we need an adult brain at the helm, Trudeau, the CBC darling, is not up to the job,not even close.

  14. I suspect the comment section is rigged by CBC moderators. Most of my posts never see the light of day. I get a “content disabled” message. Additionally, most stories that are anti-conservative or discuss Harper have comments enabled, while any story about Trudeau or the lefty cause of the day have comments disabled. This behaviour has accelerated this past year.

  16. Latest news, Islamic terrorist thugs called ISIS/ISIL have beheaded another innocent human being, showing the gory details on the internet, their cruelty knows no bounds and continues. They and all who support and train them need to be wiped from the face of this earth…we need to do whatever it takes for however long it takes. We in the Western World need to scrub them from our midst as well,allow no further Muslim immigration, none can or should be trusted, not even so-called refugees from the cruel cesspool of the sub human species created in the name of Islam.
    This is war, a war like no other, war time measures need to be invoked in order to investigate the institutions we suspect are preaching hate and recruiting converts to become killers of innocent people just living their lives.

  17. Liz the only difference between ISIS and us is where the killing is done. We do the killing in the womb before birth, they do the killing after birth. Too many hypocrites in the west. THEM and US both need to change our ways.

    I read you loud and clear. It’s not limited to CBC.Ca.
    I did live interviews with CBC and Radio-Canada, both on TV and radio, and regarding agricultural matters–and almost always, important sentences were deleted. Entire sentences were rearranged. And almost always it was to protect the Trudeau administration of that ere.

    i’m no lawyer, (and ignoring the heartbreaking fact that a child, at the urging of her family and cultural confreres has just been handed a death sentence) doesn’t this decision have much larger implications?
    Equally important… how does this decision not set a legal precedent allowing Muslims to perform clitorectomies on their daughters? Will African immigrants with established tradition be allowed to kill persons they identify as witches?

    Mr Mulcair and the NDP have no problem making demonstrably false statements, or as Hitler said if you push the big lie long and hard enough it becomes the truth; such quaint company Mr Mulcair. OK fine, Hitler lite. Or as the Alinsky school says, lie your ass off and break the law/rules, but force your opponent to tell your truth and follow the rules they break.
    Then again maybe there is no difference between a socialist and a fascist.
