  1. With 37 of 55 polls reporting
Liberals and PC Party tied with 60 votes, PC Party and Greens with 40. LOL

  2. I didn’t realize that Darrin Lamoureux is brother of federal Liberal MP Kevin Lamoureux and was appointed Saskatchewan Liberal leader in 2013. Nepotism seems to run deep in the Liberals. Can we point out to shiny pony that they got stomped tonight? Anyone seen Ralph Gooddale hanging around Lloydminster?

“Despite our province enjoying some of the best economic times in memory, political leadership from the Sask Party and NDP has been in short supply,” said Greg Gallagher, outgoing Interim Leader. “We are confident that the leadership of Darrin Lamoureux will help move the Saskatchewan Liberal Party closer to filling that void.”

  3. This isn’t about leadership, at least not by the opposition parties. Fact is, Brad Wall and the SP have done just about everything right. From the basket-case of Western Canada, Wall and the SP have turned Saskatchewan into one of the strongest provincial economies in Canada, arguably doing considerably better than the Alberta Tories, mired as they have been in a succession of scandals under Redford. By-elections are usually a chance for the voters to grump without it costing them anything, but it looks like no one in Saskatchewan is seriously going to mess with success. What do the Dippers and Libs have to offer? Essentially nothing.

  4. I knew Dave Karwacki when he was a high school kid… When being NDP meant something and being PC meant pending jail time.

  5. Nearly, 20 years ago, the NDP brain trust decided to abandon populism, the farmer/labour party motif.
Instead of equality it adopted “white guilt”, for all anti-social behaviour.
It forsake it’s Christian roots. Instead, it adopted the religious zealotry of the Church of the Environment, including ancient pagan aspects.
It defers to primitive tribalism and a mix of neo-Marxism and utopianism.
Instead of the armed farmer/worker ready to defend the weak, to remain vigilant against government tyranny. It labelled the “armed” working man and farmer to be a threat against Canadian womanhood, who must be disarmed (65 percent done and Sharia Law compliant).
Instead of solidarity among the people, class warfare in neo-Marxism became identity politics, every imaginable minority group had to be deferred to especially those with anti-social and anti-family lifestyles.
That left them with only government employees and those who depend on government.
A 20 percent vote, yes, that sums it up.
    Need a new leader? Why?
I can’t remember ever meeting a more politically correct politician.
The CCF would have tossed him in snow bank.
Where he could campaign against anthropogenic global warming until… spring.

  6. I think I just wet my pants… according to your link these are the two headers that caught me!!!!!! “Darrin Lamoureux, Leader of the Saskatchewan Liberal Party, today released the following statement: Brad Wall has to call a by-election or general election in the next six months.” http://saskliberals.ca/node/346 AND then this!!!! “To the surprise of many, Mr. Wall has decided to send voters in Lloydminster to the polls on November 13th (Just 28 days from now.)” http://saskliberals.ca/node/351
I cringe to see the pony gelded.

  7. The socialist movement became entrenched in SK politics. Guys like tommy douglas did a lot to supress the creation of wealth in the province. Saskatchewan always had mine and minerals, oil and gas, potash, lumber as well as agriculture. What did the ccf and the ndp do to promote those resources? why they created crown corporations who’s mandate is to stifle growth and spread the misery evenly.
Saskatchewan has now rightly earned it’s place at the head table in Canada. It could do more but the socialist movement lies just below the surface in the province and until the kids that had to move away to find work come home to stay and bring with them the knowledge that socialism equals misery Brad Wall will do things slowly, not upsetting the apple cart.
Sk needs to rid itself of it’s unions and crowns…..then watch it grow.

  8. Yes, the environmental movement truly is neo-paganism, the worship if inanimate objects ie eye of newt.

  9. We need a “right to work” law as there is in many of the states south of the border. and this must include teachers and government employees. I hated being the member of a union and not being allowed to refuse to support certain ” good” causes.
