Harakat Hazm and the Syrian Revolutionary Front just surrendered to Al Qaeda in Syria.
Most people have never heard of either organization, though they’ve been sort of quietly backed by the US since they oppose the Assad regime, the Al Qaeda-linked Nusra Front, and the Islamic State. Now they may be effectively finished.

So, no post-LGBTQ-parade lattes at the Damascus Starbucks after all then?
I wonder how many US supplied weapons just came under control of Al-Qaeda?
Surrendered as in prisoners to kill or as in joining with?
Time to come to the realization that the best option in Syria is Assad. Mind you President Ebola thinks liberal democracy is going to take rate, just like his fantasy in Iraq and Afghanistan. Go with a strong man you can stomach and who doesn’t want to kill everybody but radical Muslims.
“liberal democracy is going to take rate”
take place
“I wonder how many US supplied weapons just came under control of Al-Qaeda?”
A lot.
President Obama is re-applying the template of his successful* campaign in Libya.
This will lead to successes* in Syria and Iraq.
And next year in Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
*Obama’s vision of success may not be your vision of success.
Well now isn’t that a surprise..??? NOT.!
The same exact thing will happen if any of the Gulf states decides to send in ground support to fight ISIS and why wouldn’t it eh? They (the soliders), are all living in strictly Sharia’d countries…all under the control of various “Dons”. Said Dons would be the only ones to come under the sword should that happen…as for the rest of the indigenous populations…nothing would change. Islam remains Islam.
Anyway…this is not good news in any way, shape or form. These guys likely just received a major influx of hi tech missles (TOW), along with other hi end ordinance.
Seems to me Mr Obummer, If you and th rest of the West truly want to eliminate this threat..?? Then we will be talking about a much greater involvement on all our parts and that will mean ground troops..lots and lots of them..and lots of A1 Abrahms, Bradley’s and 155mm Howitzers and on and on and on.
and BTW:.. quit sending hi tech weaponry over there..!! it is only going to be used to harm you..not them. Unless of course that is your aim.??
This is gonna be interesting…
probably personally selected by obummer himself as the two groups best fitting his narrative!
These were John McCains little Ewoks defending the galaxy from the Imperial Dark Forces.
SDA Troll LAS must be frothing and rolling in his basement with a broken keyboard.

ISIS animals talking about buying their Yezidi slaves.
Sickening beyond words.
If Emperor Barry Ebola and his double nought secret agent “Crazy John”
pooled all their resources, they could probably field one almost complete
annular orifice between them. And that would be their most complete unit.
Wouldn’t be too concerned about the isis Abrams tanks being very mobile as
time goes on. Their jet engines are noted for short life between overhauls
and high fuel consumption. They will make good block houses and excellent
smart bomb targets.
Obama’s strategy reminds me of LBJ’s policy in Vietnam: institute a series of half-measures which didn’t incapacitate the enemy but merely gave him time to develop effective counter-measures designed to wear down America’s will to fight the war.

I image Obomber in a Montgomery Burns like pose tapping his fingertips saying “It’s all working to plan” with an evil leer on his face.
Solomon on PNP tonight was advancing the notion that these surrenders are evidence that air power doesn’t work.
Of course air power does work, as long as you use it to achieve things it can achieve. Rather like President Obola’s policies, which only seem to be not working if you don’t realise which side he is on.
If you support the troops, then support the mission. You cannot have it both ways. To withhold support for their mission is to advocate their – and our – defeat.
Hold off on buying any maps of the world for Christmas presents even if they are deeply discounted. They will be badly out of date by this time next year.
Isn’t it a little odd that we never hear any reports of the moderate muslims in Canada and other countries rushing to the MENA to fight the radicals?
These people are very willing to stomp and bash and bust and burn over cartoons of Mo man because it desecrates his holiness.
They tell us over and over that ISIS is not true islam, but do nothing while ISIS defames the word of Allah by raping, torturing, and murdering thousands.
I could be wrong. Maybe this Friday the holy men will be telling their followers to take up arms against those who would smear their religion. Saturday, we may hear of dozens of Canadians going to the region to help the Kurds defend their homeland.
If only ISIS would draw a few mo cartoons, rather than beheading innocents, then we would see some action from the moderates.
just bomb the Shiite out of them
Indeed, but this is the CBC. Guess which side they’re on?
Nuts. A. de seversky’s thesis is over-enthusiastic, but it can’t be defined that the combination of tactical air with armour is deadly effective.
Obama has never wanted to defeat ISIS or really any Islamist group.
I honestly don’t know why this isn’t an election/impeachment issue.
So goes Syria. So goes Iraq. Whatever will Iran do?
“They will make good block houses and excellent
smart bomb targets.”
That’s if they stall in the right place, other wise….remember no engine, no power traverse or any of the wiz-bang fire control….no mobility….not much help in a fluid battlefield.
The reason why the old Soviet tanks keep rolling at all, is that a primitive vehicle is more robust and less high maintenance…although less effective.
Things like even the Russian/Soviet SAMs do not respond well to rough handling.
Most of Toyota’s pick-em-up truck production must go to the ME….
In outlaw biker parlance, it was a “patch over”.
“Time to come to the realization that the best option in Syria is Assad.”
The same Assad who trained and sponsored Hezbollah?
The same Assad who kept sending jihadis to Iraq?
The same Assad, who when mostly peaceful opposition took to the streets, released form jails every jihadi he held? So they could dominate the opposition. So he, in the eyes of useful idiots, would become the instant good guy.
And what do you think will happen when he wins? You don’t think he will perhaps maybe go back to exporting his jihadis?
