This is just a small sampling, yet the man who said and wrote these words is Paul Krugman, professor of economics at Princeton, an op-ed columnist for The New York Times and a winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics.
(When you recall that the Nobel committee also gave its peace prize to Yasser Arafat, a man who spent much of his life committing acts of terror, you may find this less puzzling.)

Nobel Prizes like an Order of Canada do have meaning….just not what is advertised.
The Nobel is indicative of lefty approval…..Like Lester Pearson’s reward for assisting the USSR in forcing Britain and Fwance into withdrawing from the Suez….imposing diplomatic defeat on military victory.
The Order of Canada is an award of achievement to LIBRANOs.
Being right or wrong is too judgmental for progressives. It’s the attitude, dogma and fealty to the narrative that really maters. In this, Krugman is true to the fold.

I find it rather odd that despite there being many, many living Nobel laureates in Economics, about the only one I see ever being interviewed or quoted is Krugman. Nobody ever asks for the opinion of a different laureate (and would Krugman be famous in the first place if he had never won a prize?).
It’s almost as if people are seeking to produce a message and finding someone who’ll give them a quote or five towards that end.

The perfect candidate for a job with the UN or IPCC. Egotistical know nothing without a lick of common sense and makes good money by being wrong more than right. Sounds all too familiar. They say the cream always rises to the top,…… but so does pond scum.

The term “Nobel Prize in Economics” is misleading, as there is no official “Nobel Prize in Economics”. The Nobel categories are Medicine, Physics, Chemistry, Literature, and – dubiously, as arafat won one, – “Peace”.
There is the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, and Klunkman won that in 2008 for work on free trade. And with a record like what was mentioned in the article, it’s about as prestigious as the “Peace” prize.

We have our own Canadian poor man’s version of Krugman. Jim Stanford, economist for UNIFOR, Canada’s largest private sector union is often featured on CBC news as a typical representative of the economics profession. He too has sold out to the highest bidder and gets paid rather well in his job as a shill for organized plunder (aka organized labour). Economics is no different from any other profession or calling. You must pay attention not only to the source, but to who’s paying the piper.
Wad about the climate change Nobel prize. Surely Michael Mann won that. It’s not like he makes stuff up
