Updates below the fold.

Doing CPR. That’s bad.

I don’t know if this counts as a confirmation.

  1. 2nd suspect now shot dead re: Police
Video now out of center block gun battle, one door away from where Conservative Caucus was meeting..all on floor.
    Fierce volleys of shots

  2. I am disgusted by the number of aholes in our midst that are running their mouths off all over social media saying they wish it was PM Harper who had been shot and cheerleading for terrorists in our Country! Can’t we lock these stupid morons up for treason?? I am so angry right now I could spit nails! A pox on them and their houses. 🙁

  3. My GF reports from Ottawa hospital that trauma units have been told to prepare for mass casualties.
3rd round of gunfire being reported.

  4. Trudeau staffer says Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau was in Centre Block when shots broke out. “I don’t know where he is, but I’m told he’s in a secure location.”
Whew! That makes me feel better.

  5. Tell that to the Filipino peacekeepers that were stationed on he israel/Syrian border. WhatWhatever happened to them?

  6. @CTVMercedes: CTV Reporting soldier who was gunned down at the War Memorial is ALIVE. Thank God. Good news.

  7. It’s time to point out the Prime Minister has been warning about the seriousness of threats wihtin this country and the need to revamp our laws to deal with it…..the Opposition oppose….perhaps when they all clean their poopy pants as they have to cower for their lives in lock down on the Hill they’ll change their stupid minds.

  8. Out of an abundance of caution: Once the terrorists are shot, the bodies should be tested for Ebola.

  9. Can you imagine being led by the “kid” when our country is under attack. That is more frightening than anything.

  10. I despise Progville. With every fibre of my being.
The media is much to blame as it works to shape public opinion based on their ceaseless promotion of progressive ideology.
I once made a comment on this site regarding what should be done to the CBC. Kate wisely squashed it and I promised never to say such a thing again. But the thought remains because I have identified the media, make that enemedia, as a direct and imminent threat to my family, freedom, and future.
That is the point that needs to be made. The CBC/CTV/Star/Globe and the rest of the agenda driven hacks need to feel the wrath of fed up Canadians.
    MC PC BS.

  11. “But it’s only a handful of fanatics! In Canada, and the USA, and Nigeria, and England, and Spain, and the Netherlands, and Mali, and Chechnya, and Germany, and Sudan, and India, and Pakistan, and Afghanistan, and Iran, and Iraq, and Syria, and Jordan, and Lebanon, and Israel, and Libya, and Somalia, and (deep breath), Saudi Arabia, and Yemen, and Indonesia, and Malaysia, and the Philippines, and…” etc etc ad nauseam.

  12. I have heard on Canadian television repeatedly that no known connection with terrorism appears to be the case.
    Why the protestations?

  13. How much you guys want to bet that the CBC won’t air a documentary on RADICAL ISLAM but rather air a documentary on gun registry?

  14. Big, HUGE amen Markon. Defund the Ceeb, and ensure that the others understand their promotion of anti-civilization ideologies has not gone unnoticed.

  15. ‘a ruling class determined to make ordinary citizens pay for whatever sick guilt they feel over past imperialism or racism.’
Good point Donna…what the ruling fools, progs and low info voters fail to realize is that one has to judge history in the context of its day.
So-called Colonialism raised struggling countries up to a standard whereby they are now in a position to hostilely criticize those advanced western nations that showed them the light in both gov’t and technology.
One need look no further than Zimbabwe/Rhodesia, Kenya, the Nth American indigenous tribes etc.
My defense of this…just ask any of them if they want to go back to their pre-western encounter days…you know give up their western trappings.

  16. CBC just showed a tweet on TV. NDP caucus room has chairs stacked up against the door to keep the bad guys out.
Hey NDPee! How you like that Gun Free Zone idea now, eh?

  17. The soldier standing guard at the memorial, is reported to have had a rifle that was NOT LOADED.
There’s Political Correctness for you. He never had a chance.

  18. Ah, for the good old days…of starvation, predation, death by exposure, tribal war, disease, spectacular infant mortality, squabbles settled by caving your neighbour’s head in, crushing ignorance and superstition…same place the enviro-f*ckwits want us to be.
Don’t you love how “progressive” is really just a cute buzzword for “regressive”?

  19. Just listening to the audio of the shooting in the Parliament building. Sounded like a shotgun blast followed immediately many pistol shots…

  20. CTV now changes (breathlessly gulping air) to “Double huhh Barreled Shotgun”, still no description of the shooter what so ever, nope, zero, nada.

  21. I thought that sounds more like a bomb/grenade Michael, shotguns don’t shake the building 100 feet away.

  22. Ceremonial rifles are just that. No firing pin. Always been that way with the exception of things that require firing, i.e. salutes, etc. Even then, they’re blanks.

  23. Hey, I only know what I see on TV man. The reporter dude said it was the NDPee caucus room. If it was the CPC room, colour me unsurprised Mr. Reporter got it wrong.
But really, chairs stacked against the doors? What are we here, rabbits? MPs should be lined up with a knife in one hand and a gun in the other screaming “COME ON!” like they do in Israel.
But nooooo, this is Canaduh. We are all nice floppy bunnies here.
One bright spot in the giant cluster f-, way to go Sergeant at Arms for killing that shooter. Just saved me about a million bucks for his care and feeding.

  24. Hi!
Am in lockdown in a building about a block fro the US Embassy – every now and then, we hear sirens, but otherwise all is OK.
It also seems that all the schools in Ottawa are in lockdown

  25. I’m 6 miles away but can only see the traffic snarl below me as downtown empties.
I heard early on about the tweet saying the PM was safe. Then I heard Shiny Pony was safe. But I have yet seen or heard the whereabouts of Mulcair. Has anyone heard anything about him. As leader of Her Majesty’s Opposition, I’m surprised I can’t easily find any assurance about him.

  26. TORONTO – Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s office says two scheduled events today in Toronto with Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai have been cancelled.
The last-minute announcement comes amid an ongoing emergency in Ottawa, where several shootings have occurred on or near Parliament Hill.
Harper was to moderate an afternoon question-and-answer session with Yousafzai at a Toronto high school.

  27. This should be a wake-up call for the Trudeau fan club comprising of and including the Media Party Consortium. You don’t play around with the safety and security of this country by irresponsibly electing the likes of Justin Trudeau who opposes changing our laws to deal with terrorists among us. You don’t appoint a Private to do a General’s job.

  28. The mace?
Ohhh, at the risk of being crude, if he used the mace he should get free B.J.’s for life.
That’d be awesome, the mace, I mean.

  29. SUN TV is reporting that the guards at the Cenotaph today were from the Argyle and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada, my old unit, out of Hamilton Ont.
They also report the soldier died of his wounds. I’m hoping they’re wrong.
And yes, Cenotaph guards are unarmed. They do not get issued functional rifles, nor live ammo.
Because this is Canada. Soldiers can’t be trusted with live ammo, what are you thinking?!! They might go nuts and KILL somebody!!!!
