    Iraq Invasion, George Bush the Second having LEARNED from history sends a huge contingent to the Persian Gulf, rolls over Saddam Husein’s professional and well equipped army in five days, digs Saddam out of a spider hole a couple weeks later, hangs the SOB, declares victory. Declared Satan by the DemocRat Party, wins re-election anyway.
    Iraq War 2014, Barrack Hussein Obama FINALLY responds to countless mass beheadings by a rag-tag bob-tailed gaggle of toothless hillbilly amateurs in Iraq, Libya and Syria, armed with whatever happened to be lying around, by declaring he “will bomb but not send boots on the ground”.
    This is the same dipping of toes into the water that made Clinton so popular during the Balkan Unpleasantness. Whole villages died while American pilots cruised by at 30,000ft, but they did manage to obliterate an aspirin factory.
    Obama’s toe dipping will of course be hailed by all the talking heads as brave and forthright action by the Smartest President Evar! but it will be an utter failure just like the Balkans, and may indeed end up as Vietnam Two: The Humbling.
    But George Bush is Hitler. Just so we’re clear.

  3. Obama’s half hearted, half ass “strategy” was crumbling within hours of the announcement. It will amount to nothing and Canada shouldn’t get involved.
    The only action that makes sense is for the U.S. to deliver a massive air strike, limited only by targeting information and ordnance available, in reprisal for the two murdered journalists. No fretting about coalitions, allies, long term commitments, etc.
    This should be followed by a suggestion, probably at a press conference, by the Secretary of Defence that a second helping may follow depending on circumstances. For the President to address ISIS directly only confers a certain status on them (even when the President is so weak and feckless as Obama.)
    In the meantime, provide the Kurds with any armaments they need. Beyond that, let the locals fight it out. There is no point in getting immersed in the endless Shia/Sunni, Islamist/nationalist wars that have been going on in that region for the last 1,000 years or so.
    Immediately stopping Muslim immigration to the West and severely curtailing visa entries would be the best single thing we could do, but is probably impossible in our politically correct culture.

    Can anyone imagine where Canada would be if Trudeau, leader of the Obama loving Liberals, were in the big seat of power at this time?
    This would be the time for our Conservatives to put a stop to Muslim immigration, no one with a functioning brain could possibly disagree with such a move at this time. We also need to be doing background checks on those already here just as was done during the the second world war when they checked out all people of German descent, even those who were born here.
    These murdering thugs are rag-tag scum of the earth, drag them out wherever they are,go for the head of the snake, we don’t need to ravage and pillage vast areas.

  9. You pretty much nail it but avoid the thing these politicians are so averse to….the prospect of casualties…
    Putting boots on the ground involves sustaining casualties and collateral casualties….something the west has been averse to for about 4 decades…. and the other side knows it.
    The same mindset 60-70 years past was called appeasement….but it was the same aversion to casualties…and we all know what that led to.
    You do not defeat an enemy by killing him, necessarily. Defeat is a state of mind.
    Weapons dictate tactics, tactics dictate strategy, and strategy dictates policy…..the Democrat/US left mindset has policy dictating strategy, strategy dictating tactics, tactics dictating weapons…. hence dictating failure.
    OBOZO is dictating policy and calling it strategy….

  10. Sasquatch, the thing I find continually amazing is the tiny number of people in out-of-the-way blogs off-off-off the mainstream who even mention that the announced policy is going to be a disaster.
    Like, NOBODY says the obvious thing: Barry is setting policy to further his own personal and party agenda, to fit the prejudices of 60-70 year old Boomers who only remember Vietnam, and re-fight Vietnam every day.
    Dipping in the toes, pretending to be anti-war while declaring war, and in the process making sure you LOSE the friggin’ war you just declared… this is not stupidity. This is a DemocRat signature move. Doing war when you don’t get any benefit from it, and do it badly. America is Bad, America must be seen to lose so that the Dem donors that pay for all that lovely election advertising feeeeeel good about themselves and donate more.
    I agree with you, this is the appeasement that was tried by the Allies back in 1939, Make a deal, go through the motions, let Hitler nibble away a county here, a town there, kill a few Joooos!, its all good. But Hitler was too much a moron to go along with the gag. He put his home politics ahead of Reality too, he needed the war to solidify things back home. But then he won too fast, and SCARED them. That was a bad idea. The only reason America entered the war at all was because of Pearl Harbor. Major screw up there.
    Same thing in the Cuban Missile Crisis. Khrushchev underestimated the purely corrupt nature of Kennedy, who played the whole thing right up to the brink of nuclear f-ing war for popularity advantage in the elections. Didn’t give a cr@p if the Russians lit their nukes as long as he was going to win that election. Because drug addict and headcase.
    Jimmah, same thing.
    Clinton, same thing.
    Fast forward to Obama, same thing.
    These guys are getting what they want by doing this. Its not stupidity, its not misunderstanding, its POLICY. Its part of the plan for how to maintian DemocRat power.
    What’s the one thing that will screw ISIS faster than anything else? Competence. If they get good at what they’re doing, if they light off something BIG in Europe and scare all the suits, they’re screwed. If they play along, they’ll be just like Iran. Iran is doing fine these days.
    Its amazing we don’t see that laid out in the media some time. Amazing.

  11. On one side you have fractured and treacherous competing factions (including nations) engaged in and rabidly furthering their dystopian theocracy in a worldwide struggle. This “side” uses humanity as a disposable commodity because they are low cost, and enthusiastically fight and die as they believe that they receive their reward once they have been kinetically converted to burned or rotting flesh. Their tactics are not bound by codes of conduct or rules of engagement.
    On our side, we have a culture that places a high value on the living and a sophisticated military (bound by such rules) designed and trained to kill and destroy “military” and infrastructure targets and engages at a very high cost. Our response falls under a political structure dependent on the votes of a large portion of superficially intelligent electorates including those so warped by multi-culti nihilism that they are in denial as to what it is that the other side is engaged in and cannot formulate a coherent definition of an enemy. Changing these folks represents the only hope of anything resembling victory.
    So far in this Century, our engagements in the Islamic wastelands have managed to, at great cost, destabilize the entire ME by bringing down the thuggish regimes that offered relative stability.
    Further engagement in the wastelands will eventually bankrupt us and further motivate them unless we are prepared to exterminate almost two billion souls worldwide. It may feel good to bomb their currently worst perpetrators but the closer you get to them the thinner they will become and the next thing you have is another Afghanistan where, if you aren’t prepared to become thoroughly imperial by ruling them with an iron fist for centuries, don’t bother at all because on the day you leave, the Country will revert to what it was, if not sooner.
    Islam, as a threat to western civilization, should be contained to the ME while allowing those in the West to discriminate in such a way as to highly discourage immigration and conversion. This is the only solution that does not involve increasingly more death and destruction and or bankruptcy.n one s

    It is less than a day’s journey to get from the Middle East to here. There is
    no way to isolate ourselves from them. That above all is the major lesson of
    9/11: if we let them alone they will not repeat NOT leave us alone.
    In point of fact it is our society – movies, music, women’s rights, religious
    tolerance, clothing fashions – that is the
    problem. Our society and knowledge of our society is the essential threat, not
    any aggressive or territorial ambitions we may have.
    David Goldman is realistic about this. It will take the killing of at least
    3 million Muslims to pacify them, and the sooner we start the better.

    Air travel and geography has nothing to do with it. Israel is the middle of their habitat and when was the last time one of their aircraft was hijacked? The lesson of 9/11 was the failure of multiple leviathan bureaucracies infected with multi-culti PC fear of appearing discriminatory. A confident culture would allow its members to stand up to the pathology of Islam and tell them to piss off every which way but what we appear to be doing is allowing the same culture that allowed 9/11 to repeat what we have just spent 13 years doing while expecting a different outcome.
    Killing 3 million Muslims in the ME is the equivalent to swatting flies on a carcass expecting it to come back to life.

    If we stop letting them come to our schools, where are they going to learn how to maintain oil wells and pumps and power stations and all that? From what I understand, its almost impossible to keep machinery functioning in the ME even now, with ostensibly educated locals helping. If all de White Man down tools and walk out… no more oil. No oil, no money. No money, no fancy Mercedes for the Saudi princes.
    If we stop letting them come to our countries on our airplanes, how are they going to get here? Walk? Swim? Build their own airplanes? Bwaha!
    To repeat from above, Mooselimbs are savages. Frightening if they’ve got you cornered and outnumbered in a Gun Free Zone. Otherwise, not so much.
