  1. One wonders just how many of these knuckle heads figured a victims studies or english lit masters would be a ticket to a great job.. Its essentially academic darwinism in action.

  2. Mark Steyn said the other day,”why would you spend six figures on a journalism degree for a job paying $23,000?” Most people do not research the economic value their chosen field of study/degree will bring them. This is partially the fault of the lower and higher education systems. Both promote a degree as the way to get a good job. None will tell you how many grads they are turning out compared to the vacancies available. I once had a prof chase me down to convince me to take a graduate degree. When I questioned him as to what I could do with it, what were the economic prospects, he looked at me as though I was speaking another language. No I did not accumulate any debt in acquiring my education. I had a new car and money in the bank and elsewhere. I always say “Earn before you Learn”, which isn’t quite true. You should always be learning, but probably shouldn’t pay to learn unless you have the cash.

  3. My stepdaughter is a case in point. She took two Arts degrees – by no means the worst, one was in archaeology – with
weak marks. Good God, don’t these students know that we employers can read transcripts?!? All of this was financed by
my wife. The stepdaughter even took FOUR courses in women’s studies, despite my wife’s vocal disapproval.
The stepdaughter worked in her McJob for 14 years, until finally even her employer was sick of it. So, financed this time
by her partner, she took nursing. She received her current job even before graduating, and has been employed continuously
    ever since.
Despite the four courses in women’s studies she has been faithful to her partner, and is gradually turning into a conservative.
Funny how taxation on hard work will do that!

i gotta say the bestest results will come that way

  5. I have actually dropped the RESP idea for my kids. We put it all into my RRSP so when my wife and I are old, we won’t be burden to the kids. I figure if one of the Big Banks won’t lend you the money for your college are varsity program, you seriously should not be doing it!

  6. Women traditionally got useless libArts degrees so they could be intelligent hostesses and companions, not necessarily to prepare them for a professional career. Those degrees only require good scholarship, technical intelligence is not required.
Yes “Women Earn the Majority of Degrees”, however most of their libArts degrees are only useful for snagging a productive husband with a science or engineering degree.
