Two huge mistakes made on Bush’s watch were the failure to create
a three independent state sunni, shia, and Kurd federation and the
complete disbanding instead of the downsizing and reorganizing of
saddam’s sunni dominated armed forces and public security services.
Both failures probably trace back to the state dept which seems to
have a knack for turning up after the heavy lifting to achieve
military victory is done. It gives them a clear field to turn early
success into abject failure.
State and CIA sabotaged the post-war reconstruction. See Keith Timmerman, Shadow Warriors.
W’s biggest mistakes were not turning Kabul and Kandahar into radioactive craters by sundown on 9/11/01, and then not dealing with Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Syria and DPRK in similar decisive fashion by the following Friday.
To quote the Bible: “The ‘stupid’ shall be smart. The ‘smart’ shall be morons.”
Good summation of the Bush regime’s failures to stabilize the Mideast situation.

By disbanding the Iraqi armed forces and trying to make ancient enemies live under the same puppet govt. the USofA created the situation today.

Al Qaeda was not in Iraq until after that idiot Bush invaded. And ISIL wouldn’t exists if that idiot Obama wasn’t so keen on funding the overthrow of Assad. So essential successive US governments created this mess. Congratulations.
Al Qaeda was already in Iraq before Bush invaded, Saddam just knew how to manage them, just like Assad knew how to manage them, before Obama armed them.
Worst thing ‘W’ did was to call Islam the ‘Religion of Peace’ and create 2 new Islamic Republics.
To defeat an enemy, you must identify the enemy and focus political and emotional will upon his destruction. You must not only be ready to do what the enemy does in war, fighting fire with fire, you must go beyond what the enemy does. Then his will to fight will be extinguished.
Building roads, digging wells, establishing schools, building and equipping hospitals while the enemy poisons it and burns it all down is not what our armed forces are for.
Our Armed Forces exist to destroy our enemies and make us secure, there is no substitute for Victory.

Bush Jr. was a freaking genius. He lured every muslim terrorist on the planet into the least favorable terrain possible for unconventional warfare and turned it into a meat grinder for these savages. He was winning up until the point O’Bumbles took over.

Pakistan, America’s so-called Ally, was the impetus behind 9/11.
It was Pakistan that gave sanctuary to bin Laden, set up the new training camps for al Qaeda/Taliban in their country, and wouldn’t allow American troops to pursue Taliban or al Qaeda across the border from Afghanistan.
Pakistan, a dirt poor nation which somehow cobbled the money together to become a nuclear power.
That money came from Saudi Arabia where Wahhabi Islam is the state religion and, coincidentally, the same brand of Islam bloody well practiced by Boko Haram and ISIS.
So how is it Bush was winning when all he was doing was killing a few Jihadi tools and the real players behind 9/11 were being given brand new F-16s and F-15s by the U.S. government?
