Yeah, that one pretty much pooched traffic around the lake for the next little while. Apparently people were honking at this guy, going in front of him, all of it. He ignored it all and creamed the bridge.
The only reason a bunch of bridge worker guys weren’t crushed was the cacophony of horns blowing. Mr. Rai there just cruised right through it all, blasted out of his mind on whatever.
Best part? He’s -not- in jail tonight. Most likely will not be going to jail either. Could be driving out there right now for all I know. Your justice system at work.
And that right there my friends is why you have to be nuts to drive a Feeeeel-It or a Dumb Car, or one of those other teensy coffins on wheels. Because there’s guys driving 18 wheelers out there, drunk off their @sses, and nothing much is going to happen to them when they get caught.

Obviously it was not very windy going up the Skyway as a box that long in an up position would have acted like a sail and sent him over the edge.
I have changed my career again as of January.(thank you affirmative action) I am now in the trucking industry although I am not a trucker. I have dealt with 6 different trucking companies in that time. They all hate the Indian truckers. They have no respect for common sense or do they have any respect for anybody else on the road around them. They do not use their mirrors to see the cars behind them nor do they move to the right lane to allow anybody to pass. I have witnessed this myself. They will sit in the left lane for hundreds of miles below the speed limit.

A couple of years ago we watched a flat deck hauling a rather large track hoe with its arm not completely lowered whack the CPR overpass over Highway 16 on the east side of Lloydminster. It knocked the railroad bridge deck off its support and onto the flat deck just behind the tractor cab, causing an impressive amount of dust, and a very abrupt stop to the forward motion of the truck. That branch of the CPR was out of comission for something like a month costing some insurance company many dollars. I can’t remember what the driver was charged with, but he was convicted, and probably had to choose some other career. Without doubt the most spectacular crash I’ve ever seen. We can talk about it with humor because no one was physically damaged.
Sikh name? Does the criminal code have a charge of hypocrisy?

If you like. When you get run over by someone in an eighteen wheeler he might notice a slightly bigger bump than if you were in a sub-compact.
Can’t we please keep these guys driving hacks? Incidents may not be fewer, but infrastructure will benefit.

That he’s a Brampton asian/indian surprises nobody who drives there. Only a madman or a saint would proceed on a Brampton green light without first waiting for the procession of 18 wheelers to finish running their red lights, of which at least 80% would be driven by sikhs or other asians.
At least no giraffes were hurt…

I recall a few years past that MTO accepted Indian CDLs….
An associate, employed as a firms safety guy….didn’t believe my representations….but he went so far as to giving the 2 candidates a road test with a Ford Ranger with a standard….they protested this was an insult to their dignity but never got out of the parking lot because they though the clutch was an extra brake pedal….no $**t….

Two things. Flash high beam lights at truckers to get their attention. Keep flashing till they see you! Horns (and sirens) won’t work. Too much noise in cab.
In THIS case there was the extra noise of the PTO gears and hydraulic pump spinning up that shudda warned him if he weren’t impaired. What.An.Idiot! But remember….LIGHTS!
Having the PTO engaged makes shifting difficult and possibly impossible.
Some, yes, but not all. Had a PTO on a tow truck once that would engage itself while going down the road. Scary. Also, some are driven off the front engine crankshaft pulley. Still noisy but has no effect on the tranny.
