Imagine a World Without Miley Ray Cyrus

I miss the early 60’s jazz scene…of course I wasn’t there, but I miss it. Anyway, for your late night listening pleasure.

  1. I don’t have to imagine, because my world doesn’t have any Miley Cyrus in it. Why does your’s?
Unplug from the programing, stop watching TV.

  2. And on topic…..imagine a world without ISIS,Hamas, the Chimp in chief,Turdeau 1,. The list is endless. And who or what is a Miley Cyrus. Sounds like something that needs a vaccine.

  3. The best jazz of the era was background on movies and TV. The worst was being played in the jazz clubs. Thankfully, jazz has gone away. If only Miley would go away too.

  4. Cyrus is to Loren, as…..
Little Leo Dicapprio is to Sean Connery, as…
    Les Turdos are to Churchill.

  5. Jazz hasn’t gone away. Maybe it has to those who only immerse themselves in pop culture, but it continues to exist and thrive. And yes, some forms of jazz are virtually unlistenable, to my ear at least, but there are others which are just fine. There are still bands out there playing trad jazz, and swing, and Dixieland.

  6. Jazz is here to stay and is thriving. Check out Frank Potenza or George Benson, perhaps Pat Martino Live at yoshi’s…some of the GREAT Jazz guitarists in the world IMHO.

  7. Well, that was awful and boring. I love jazz,as in the old stuff of Louis and King Oliver, and all the musicians of that era, but Lounge Lizard jazz never appealed to me.Give me Django Reinhardt over that any day.
And when Ursulla finally peeled it all off, that was disappointing too. She needed a conditioning coach. Connery, though, just got better and better.
I think Miley Cyrus did exactly what she set out to do, break away from the Disney image, and get loads of free publicity. And make mega- bucks doing her act.

  8. “…I think Miley Cyrus did exactly what she set out to do,…”
Aye, indeed. And no one can claim that her respectability is any less than that possessed by those who would pay to see her.

  9. You don’t have to like Miley Cyrus but she is free to pedal her crappy brand and music under the free market system. Its the free market, you don’t have to consume it either.
