We Don’t Need No Stinking Giant Fans

Ugly, inefficient – and noisy;

Michigan’s 51st Circuit Court has ruled that Mason County was justified in determining that wind turbines at the Lake Winds Industrial Wind Plant near Ludington are too noisy.
In his June 16 decision, Judge Richard Cooper denied Consumer Energy’s appeal to have the court overturn the county’s finding that the wind plant was exceeding the county’s established decibel level limits.
In a highly technical explanation, Judge Cooper said it was reasonable for the county to take into account the impact of maximum wind speeds that are not outside the norm. He also rejected the argument that excessive noise levels occurring only during certain periods of time should be allowed.

  1. it will ne interesting to see how many of these wind turbines survive their first breakdown or major overhaul. I read that there are now over 14 thousand dead turbines in the u.s. that will never run again and no one is making any effort to remove them. just think of the apoplexy the greens will experience when all that junk is littering the country side and nobody will spend a dime to clean it up.

  2. Remove them? Heh.They will soon have little fences around them, cute crosses, and be a shrine. Unfortunenately, those responsible for them will not be anywhere near them. They will be onto the next scam.

  3. Well that article is good news as far as I am concerned.
    Ross McKitrick said it best:
Wind Turbines don’t run on wind – they run on subsidies
Just glad Io don’t live in rural Ontario…What a freaking disaster that is.
If ya haven’t seen “DownWind”…good video to check out – by Sun News.

  4. If wind turbines are so good, why do city people always put them in the country? I think Toronto needs at least 500 of them.

  5. ultra sound health impact has been documented in many case and places all over the world, and these idiots still ignore it, even when a citizen’s group commissioned and paid for an independent study and supplied the results to these dimwits. Now the effected citizens should sue for damages.

  6. Maybe you mean “infrasound”? Which is sound at frequencies too low for the human ear to recognize as sound. The wind turbines emit a pressure pulse each time one of the blades passes in front of the tower. If you are standing close, you can hear a “swish” as that happens.
Now, there may be some ultrasound generated at the blade tips, which do move pretty fast.
I can tell you that I live about 2 miles from the edge of a wind farm, and I have not personally experienced any effects. If I did, I would say so, as I am no fan of the damned things.

  7. ” I know each of us having solar on our roofs would cut into the profits of the oil, gas, financial industry and Wall Street, who have been gouging us for years. I can live with that.”
From one of the comments at the link. When a Nation has millions of citizens who are that blind, naive, and obtuse, there isn’t much hope for their future,is there.
This person also claimed that ”we should get government subsidies to pay for solar panels and wind power”.
Yep, gub’mint money is the answer to anything and everything.

  8. The age of windmills is dying. Europe are abandoning them, we will to eventually.
Its why climate hysteria is on the rise again. Socialists are in a panic the Marxist environmentalists have made things worse but so obviously. In fact every green project is an abject failure. Not one success . Just more damage that even every oil company in the world could cause. Its not good for socialism.
Its now just running on idiot power from 30 years of school indoctrination. That I might say eventually woke up the Soviet Union to reality. You can only run from this for a while. Like death it dogs you for life.
