    Tonight’s article is titled “Hey Stevie, start with ‘I’m sorry’ and go from there”.
    Recent ones are:
    “How Steve the Avenger gave Darth Vader a pass”
    “Canadians realize if veterans can get crushed, no one is safe”
    “L’etat, c’est Steve”
    “Robocalls report clearest sign yet of our democracy’s decay”
    “Harper sees role as protector of the rich and powerful”
    It goes on and on…the comments there are really terrible, as well.

    “Pierre Karl Peladeau released from hospital”
    “PQ politician and media mogul Pierre Karl Peladeau has been released from hospital less than a week after a bicycle crash left with a brain injury and fractured bones.
    Peladeau, 53, a Quebec MNA and former Quebecor CEO, crashed his bicycle in Montreal’s Eastern Townships last Sunday, May 18.”

    “The Unforgiving Moment”
    “I lead a yearly tour on May 17th, so usually quit riding one week ahead, just in case. Friday morning was to be last ride until I came back on May 30.
    About four-fifths of the way home, suddenly the front wheel locked and I woke up about 15 seconds later with my face on the pavement. Four hours later at the emergency room I discovered that I had four ruined teeth (three shaved off, one split down the middle into the root), a concussion, a broken nose, 65 stitches for facial and gum lacerations, and a sliced-apart lower lip (with broken teeth shards sticking into my upper lip).”

    “In smog-choked China, a scramble for breathable air”
    “BEIJING – Cities are taking drastic measures in the latest salvo in China’s “war on pollution,” from deploying giant cannons spraying water 2,000 feet into the air to dispel smog, to the confiscation of outdoor grills.
    Neither initiative seems likely to bring relief to China’s long-suffering citizens, who are choking on air pollution so intense that scientists have likened its effects to a nuclear winter.”

    “It is the first time the party – which wants to cut immigration drastically and reduce the influence of Islam – has come first in a nationwide election in its 40-year history. Results so far have guaranteed the party around a third of France’s 74 seats in the European Parliament.”

  6. He does make great chocolate. We have had some. Let us see if he can lead the country for the people and not for himself.
    “Ukrainian confectionery tycoon Petro Poroshenko has claimed outright victory in the country’s presidential election.
    Mr Poroshenko, known as the “chocolate king”, won more than 55% of the vote in the first round, exit polls suggest.
    Announcing he had won, the 48-year-old businessman promised to forge closer links with the EU and restore peace in restive eastern regions.”

  7. “Eurosceptic and far-right parties have seized ground in elections to the European parliament, in what France’s PM called a “political earthquake”.
    UK Independence Party and French National Front both performed strongly. The three big centrist blocs all lost seats, though still hold the majority.”
    Another phoney conservative. – “Chancellor Angela Merkel – whose party topped the poll in Germany – described the far right victories as “remarkable and regrettable” and said the best response was to boost economic growth and jobs.”

    “Premature suicide belt explosion dampens jihadi party”
    “It’s the feel-good video of the day. I’d trade it for six cute puppy or kitten videos. (WeIl, except maybe this one.) It happened in Syria, when a bunch of terrorists, said to be from abroad, got together for a little party. (Video below)”
    “Sean Brown of Mad World News reports:
    The Syrian-based terror group is all sitting around singing, rifles stacked in the middle of the room in a menacing manner and their flag draped on the wall above. As their celebration continues, all of the sudden there’s a massive BOOM and the camera is shot off the screen.
    Panic ensues, and the men run around like madmen screaming “Allahu akbar!””

  9. Michael Harris is the most demented of the “Harper derangement syndrome” suffering journalists in Canada.
    He is almost incoherent in his hatred and his pretzel logic to twist everything against Harper is something to read.
    I’ve read dozens of his columns for many years,he has nothing original to say,just spew hatred of the PM 24/7/365.
    I still start to read his columns,hoping he’s found at least a partial cure, but am disappointed every time.
    Harris and Heather Mallick should start a blog titled “Canada’s Unbalanced Opinion”.

    “What next for Europe’s battered post-election political leaders?”
    “A Brussels dinner brings together the walking wounded from an election that has reshaped the politics of at least four nations”
    “The elections supplied what used to be called a Kodak moment, freezing a picture of European politics and exposing how what started as a banking disaster five years ago, then developed into a financial, debt and currency emergency, has come to roost as a political crisis, testing the competence of and confidence in European leadership.”

    “THE EVE OF WATERLOO
    by: Lord Byron (1788-1824)”
    “And all went merry as a marriage bell;
    But hush! hark! a deep sound strikes like a rising knell!
    Did ye not hear it? — No; ’twas but the wind,
    Or the car rattling o’er the stony street;
    On with the dance! let joy be unconfined;
    No sleep till morn, when youth and pleasure meet
    To chase the glowing hours with flying feet.
    But hark! — that heavy sound breaks in once more,
    As if the clouds its echo would repeat;
    And nearer, clearer, deadlier than before;
    Arm! arm! it is — it is — the cannon’s opening roar!”
