  1. It is back.
Vote Compass 2014, the win Wynne edition.
Brought to you courtesy of your tax dollars via the CBC.

I’ve been playing with it. They have tricked it out this year.
There are no questions concerning specific gov’t waste or scandals or honesty, or general questions about the same. Perhaps the CBC and the VC people do not think that will be important this election.
IMHO, the questions do lead, your mileage may vary.
I answered randomly the first time as an Ontario voter, and came out as a PC supporter. I double-checked, and got the same result using the same random order.Fair enough, for now.
I then took it as an ‘under eighteen’ respondent. Same random pattern, but I came up as a Green supporter.
The next time, I came up as a Liberal. The next time, I was a Conservative.
Ah hah, they are shuffling the questions. Same thing when you try it as an out-of- province respondent. Actually, they may be even changing the questions based on your region.
    Why?
I don’t know and I don’t have the hours or skill to check it out. It does make it harder to check for bias, much harder. Then again, why would a company,Voxpop Labs, be biased ?
The 4 people behind the company appear to be all upstanding Univ. of Toronto types. In fact, one even was a ” Trudeau Fellow at the Trudeau Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies “. All above reproach.
The company lists the CBC, the ABC (Australia’s CBC), and the WALL STREET JOURNAL as their clients. The WSJ , well hey, that seals it. The WSJ would not be involved with a less than forthright operation.
But … I googled and googled again and then googled again, to find the WSJ’s Vote Compass and their endorsement. I found their VC, but could not find an endorsement. As of a half- hour ago, they had a total of 30,495 uses (I’m one, a Mitt man BTW ) for the sole time they used this application, and that was for the 2012 presidential election. The WSJ did not promote it very much and likely only featured it for one day. Hmmmm…
    This raises a few questions.
    1)Is it biased ?
2)How much did we pay for it?
3)Why did we pay for it?
    I don’t know the answers.
    I suspect bias.
As for questions # 2 and 3, only the CBC can answer.
    Don’t hold your breath waiting.

  8. This information will be useful to those who want the extra flavor that pesticide residue adds to their fruits and vegetables.
The U.S.-based Environmental Working Group has released its “Dirty Dozen” and “Clean 15” lists for 2014, detailing which fruits and vegetables have the most — and least — pesticide residue.
The EWG is a non-profit organization that acts as a public health and environmental watchdog, monitoring consumer products, food and environmental practices. Senior analyst Sonya Lunder said the organization has been looking at the safety of pesticides on fruits and vegetables for over a decade, based on data gathered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Food and Drug Administration. …
This year’s Dirty Dozen list includes apples, strawberries, grapes and celery — … a single, conventionally grown grape sample contained 15 pesticides, and an average potato had more pesticides by weight than any other food tested. … “This is the fourth year where we’ve had apples on the top of the Dirty Dozen list,” Lunder said. “Meaning they have the most pesticides and the highest concentrations on them.”
A separate study by published at the end of April in the journal Environmental Research by the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia looked at pesticide levels in organic food.
In it, 13 adults were divided into two groups. One ate conventional food for a week, while the other consumed about 80 per cent organic food. Then the groups switched and ate the alternate diet. The study found that when tested on the eighth day of each phase, those in the organic group had reduced pesticide levels in their urine by 89 per cent.

  11. Brought to you by the same retards that pay for not producing wind power while dumping hydro (water) energy down the river to keep greenies happy and voting.
Ontario was a manufacturing province, taking it’s resources and producing product for the America heartland. They did so because of the resources especially hydro electric power. With no manufacturing industry left in the province there will be no jobs save the venerable government simple servant. even working in a day care is in jeopardy since they want full time kindergartens.
This is a former shadow of the province I grew up in.
