Wynneing!

Uh oh… “No wonder @Kathleen_Wynne didn’t come to Question Period today… The man [Peter Faist] who destroyed govt docs worked for her until this weekend.”

The NDP have just walked out of the Ontario leg.
Plot thickening updates below…

Mr.Livingston, I presume? From an earlier thread, a career history;

– CEO of Infrastructure Ontario;
– a member of the board of eHealth Ontario;
– a professor at Ryerson University (which was created, actually, by, you know, Bob Rae, and among whose former distinguished faculty include the late Jack Layton);
– and (drum roll) Chief of Staff to Mr. McGuinty.
Heck, it’s almost like he’s been at the centre of things forEVAH, and he just never left. And now we find out, in the articles, that his former Executive Assistant is at (wait for it) — Ryerson University! Who knew?

  1. Damn, this is getting good. Popcorn is ready, the entertainment provided al’a ontario, just opened a beer…….now all I await is the link to trudeau or one of his aides.

  2. Lol. Please NDP, support this government a bit more and see what happens next.
    10 years of Conservative rule. Enjoy.

  3. Great title to the post Kate!
    These liberals are all the same! They run away from their own scandals like rats. McGuinty the coward piece of scum couldn’t run away fast enough – hell he even left the country! Of course Harvard being Harvard, they welcomed him with open arms.
    Now Wynne runs off for a photo op with the men’s olympic curling team rather than show up in the house.
    Meanwhile, staffers of the entitled class make off like bandits:
    http://edmonton.ctvnews.ca/former-members-of-redford-s-staff-received-1-14m-in-severance-1.1750827
    What a cesspool of rot, and entitlement and incompetence the Canadian political scene has become.

  4. Wasn’t Livingstone in charge of E-Health, too?
    This worm just keeps turning. Andrea is shocked? Oh my. Then defeat this corrupt government you socialist twit.

  5. Will Laura Miller’s boyfriend Peter Faist now be running away to BC to clean Christy Clark’s computers?

  6. Corruption a Canadian LIEberal value…
    Why is it when LIEberals are running things; $BILLIONS always seem to go missing?
    Money laundering for fun and profit among the ‘elite’…well so much for the theory of ‘responsible and Accountable’ government.

  7. for a more honest gov’t we should farm the job out to hells angles, they would be honest by comparison

  8. Credit where it is due, I see that Hudak finally grew a pair. Day late and a dollar short, but better late than never, as it were.
    Still, now we know what all those “going the distance” commercials of Wynne jogging were about. She’s showing them her heels today, by cracky. Run Kathleen, run!

  9. From Peter Faist’s Twitter account description:
    Peter F
    @JustPeteTO
    technologist. car lover. food tourist. audio zealot. music addict. passionately political. sports fan.
    Toronto, Ontario

  10. It is especially vindicating when Liebels are caught in such corruption but I would refer to the NON-fallout when they were caught passing bags of money in brown bags back in Chretins reign. Nobody did hard time. No serious money was recovered.
    It s not ‘bags of popcorn’ time one considers the economic deterioration of Ontario and the reasons for it. Easterners have pointed to the ‘oil dollar’, the lack of focus by the feds on industrial policy and the irresponsible and ideological adherence to tough money supply as excuses. Not once is the fiscal in-
    competence of Ontario’s provincial government mentioned and the economic fallout that will follow.
    Any conservatives who take false comfort in thinking this type of thing is not happening within the CPC are dreaming. There is a very large segment of our society who feel that influence peddling is a legit career. IMHO it appears that the CPC has been infiltrated by such people and there does not appear to be a litmus test that exposes them. The Party seems to think that sending daily requests for donations is the equivalent of building a political party. It smacks to me of desperation and blatant opportunism. Who within the CPC party is actually listening to the core? In my riding it appears to be nobody. Come election I suspect a repeat of the Manitoba by-election across the country. If the CPC MP’s cannot be trusted with a message or with talking to members then what kind of party is this other than another top down construct ala Brian Mulroney. I did not sign up for that!

  11. Yes of course, among the Hell’s Angels qualities and stock in trade is EXTORTION…not to mention their enforcement division when your ‘accounting’ comes up a bit short!

  12. Sounds like Peter Faist knows where all the bodies are buried from 10 years of McGWynnty. Interesting to hear what he says once the arrest is made

  13. This is starting to make Watergate look pale in comparision….waiting….waiting…
    for Wynnebag to say “I am not a crook”…..in 5…4…3…

  14. Wynne will never sue. Discover would be so messy. Hot air for the minions jammed onto the TTC/GO or sipping their Timmy’s (to be fully alert when the traffic finally moves on the DVP).

  15. Kathleen can run but she can’t hide…..lets hope Horwath smartens up and co-operates to run her right out of Office and on to an election.
    It seems fitting her former boss, one Dalton McGuinty should be hauled up from Harvard to answer some pertinent questions on the gas plant maneuvering to retain power at the expense of the taxpayers.

  16. “The NDP have just walked out of the Ontario leg.”
    On Saturday, Kelly McParland in the National Post wrote that Horwath had “a public responsibility to stop propping up the Liberal minority government and help bring about an election as soon as possible”.
    Perhaps she read that column over her Saturday breakfast and pondered whether to remain on the sinking SS Wynne or make the jump for the political lifeboats?

  17. I HAVE to get out of this province!
    It’s a perfect time Horwath should take a page from Alinski, “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it”. Let the libs own their mess and make political points from it. Bringing down the libs right now is the dippers best bet. Hopefully the PCs can come out on top and leave the libs in the political wilderness to lick their wounds.

  18. “Perhaps she read that column over her Saturday breakfast and pondered whether to remain on the sinking SS Wynne or make the jump for the political lifeboats”
    Indeed. But surely the question is not whether she should pull the plug now, but rather, why she propped up this putrid tottering pile of s*** for so long.

  19. Yup, and the useless, lazy ,stupid,sack-less,spineless,scumbag Ontarian are sharpening there pencils so they can vote for the liberal party again!! Mark my words it will be ndp,or liberals in control when the dust settles.Ideology trumps common sense in left wing politics, And CULTURE trumps politics. The people of Ontario (not all people) but enough to put the socialists back into power will do just that. either ndp or liberal minority once again.
    F%kc you Ontario! you can leave with Quebec as well!!
    Bunch of idiots!!

  20. Hey Paul, replace “Ontario” with “Toronto” and I’m with you. Retardation drops precipitously once you get out of the 416 area code. I think it might be something in the water…

  21. Gosh, thanks, “paul in Calgary”!
    Your intellectual perspicacity does so much to raise the bar for SDA.
    We wouldn’t want folks getting the idea that the foul-mouthed and the deranged were the only people who visited here, would we?

  22. The longer Horwath clings to the Liberal wreckage, the harder it’ll be for her party to explain why they didn’t jump off earlier.

  23. “But surely the question is not whether she should pull the plug now, but rather, why she propped up this putrid tottering pile of s*** for so long.”
    That’s easy. Horwath is a Dipper, so she hates common sense and Conservatives a lot more than she fears being associated with Krooked Kathleen and her Circus of Wynners.
    Dippers as a rule don’t object to political corruption per se, they just don’t like it when they aren’t getting a cut. One might almost suspect an exchange of favors…
    However today is the day when the Danger Quotient of continuing to prop up the Lieberals exceeded the I-Hate-You Factor, so Andrea chucked Kathleen and Co. under the bus like a boss.
    Dippers are big believers in looking out for Number One.

  24. Lefties have what amounts to the opposite of a hive mind. When they congregate in greater numbers and their minds begin working in concert the group as a whole gets dumber, not smarter.

  25. “Why is it when LIEberals are running things; $BILLIONS always seem to go missing?”
    Ya gotta hand it to the Ontario Liberals, they have panache. The Federal Conservatives could learn something.
    If you’re going to have your party implode over something, go for the big numbers! A billion!
    Meanwhile, poor old Harper and company get flogged to death over a lousy $90,000 cheque to an overweight senator.

  26. “paul in Calgary”, you’re a moron. I am glad people like you are a minority. Enjoy your hate.

  27. Horvath call an election…it is up to her union puppeteers. Meaning it ain’t gonna happen.

  28. Paul:
    Voters in rural Ont fortunately will have something to say come next election. Wynne has 1 seat there now with no hope of expanding on that, her abler and sidekick also has no policies which resonate in the countryside.Both can only offer more wind factory development and green energy fantasies. There are not enough seats in TO and urban centres to make either woman premier as they will be splitting them.
    Suggest we wait for the actual contest.

  29. Awe, sweetheart did I offend you? Suck it up!
    You know who is going to pay for all of this crap in Ontario ? Everyone else!! you know who will pay for Alberta’s Redfraud? Albertan’s!! That’s why I’m pissed and I am also serious! The brain dead puss balls in Ontario couldn’t organize a piss up in a brewery! And you idiots just sit on your duff and take it!!
    Serious question. How dumb are you?
    You respond to me lowering the intellectual bar/standard in this room? What about the bar/Standard in ontarios’s politics!! I’m so tired of herring from unionized “conservatives” show there true loyalty to the paycheque. Stand up speak out quit your job, run for office, frik call Wynne and blow her ear off!, protest!
    So please spare me if I could give crap less about what you think about my professionalism in this room!
    You have bigger fish to fry and my intellect or conduct is just not one of them.
    I am mad because I care. I mad because we as a country sink or swim together and I’m tired of Quebec,BC MANITOBA,and now morontario bringing us down. And I am ready to separate or at least kick those provinces out of this country. The stupidity on display here is embarrassing.
    @Phantom , you may be correct but I don’t care I want the who festering cancerous tumour severed and Ontario has lots of rural idiots like chief Teresa spence …remeber that bag of sh$t? Yeah exactly!! So
    jjm with a big heart felt sentiment from me to you and those who want to criticize me from right here in the heart of alberta I want to wish you, Ontario,Quebec,,bc,and manitoba a big ol FCUK YOU!!
    Bunch of union hugging,socialist,communist,Marxist idiot’s.
    @Nick
    Calls me a hateful moron ! So what does that make you?
    Am I not allowed to express my frustration?

  30. “The longer Horvath clings to the Liberal wreckage, the harder it’ll be for her party to explain why they didn’t jump off earlier.”
    Absolutely. But the fact remains, long after the billion dollar piss-away was public knowledge, SHE alone kept these rats in power… all through McDinky’s escape, all through the cover-up, all through the computer wiping. Horvath is the Great Enabler.
    Pssssst! Tim! Tiger Tim! Ontario would be a lot less broke if it wasn’t for the Liberals AND the NDP!

  31. Ha! You guys need to change your gov! Seriously!
    BC could be a gold mine of prosperity,if there was someone who understood capitalism in it’s purest form.
    I own property in bc such a beautiful gorgeous province ! But the politics there are unbelievable.
    I talk to my financial guy there, he said there are quite a few conservatives in liberal clothing so to speak. Very pro business,free markets, but don’t have a strong enough core to bring life to the Conservative party.
    Any truth to this?

  32. So let me get this straight, Dalton and Kathleen are claiming mcguinty ‘ s chief of staff acted alone. Come on everybody, why is this so hard to believe, lets sweep this under the carpet with the other billions and all of us suckered in Ontario can just get back to sleep!

  33. Ah yes, the Ryerson Polytechnical Institute. A useful postsecondary institution.
    As a “university”, let alone a “research university”, it is ridiculous. If the best “university” you can
    get into, as a student or god forbid a prospective young faculty member, is Ryerson, think about
    your future hauling garbage. Or in porn.

  34. Penis Paul
    Manitoba is a lefty sh!t hole, Saskabush dumped their NDPees a few years ago, BC is a commie infested dump, and you rectums have red tories coming out of your ying yang. For many years Ontario picked up the tab for the west, so go stuff your stupidity. And quit beating your poor dog!!!!!

  35. Title should be “Whynneing”. Couple of things – there are no conservatives in Ontario politics. Hudak isn’t and the last election was his to lose, and he did, just like Tory. An election in the near future has just as good a chance of going to Horvath as to Hudak, maybe better.

  36. To be fair Martin, it isn’t just the rural areas. With the exception of the GTHA and a few other enclaves, all of Ontario is Conservative. I live in a city of some 85,000, hardly a rural area. We are solidly conservative as are most smaller cities in the province.
    It is my fervent wish that the GTHA would form another province and leave the rest of us alone to manage our own affairs.

  37. Yes, that’s the truth. The Conservative Party in BC can’t seem to get its act together. Cummins resigned after our last election. (I voted Conservative.) After the NDP were elected under Harcourt, BC was a paradise for professional enviromental activists. Mining and logging were vilified. I was so glad to see Gordon Campbell elected, because the NDP were defeated, but Campbell ended up buying into the global warming scam. The carbon tax was the last straw. I will not vote for anyone who brings in a carbon tax. (If anyone else wants their carbon tax, they can KEEP their carbon tax!)

  38. Yes there are plenty of conservatives out here; but more are needed who will ‘wear it on their sleeves’.
    BC politics is somewhat elevated above the Democratic Republic of the Congo, (another rainforest on the coast) in that we haven’t had any genocidal behavior of late, other than the usual abortuaries. The finances however, occasionally resemble Zimbabwe, when the NDP pulled off the $BILLION dollar ferry fiasco, which we are probably still paying for…
    The closer you get to Victoria, the more PC politico-speak begins to sound strangely like Swahili.

  39. Paul from Calgary before you write us Ontarians off you should avail yourself of a few facts.
    The Liberals hold only one rural seat in Ontario. Last month Wynne danced around the riding handing out checks because she knows she is danger of losing it. The rest of the liberal seats are in urban centres such as Ottawa, Toronto, London etc.
    The reason the Liberals keep in power is because they shower our money around the province. 1.4 million government employees earning an average of 75k a year- who do you think they vote for? Powerful unions that represent those employees pour millions into advertising to swing the vote towards the Liberals.
    Most of us do not vote Liberal. We are against a machine that doles out cash to buy and sway votes. We try and we fight but it is an uphill battle. Perhaps this latest scandal in a long litany of billion dollar scandals will change things. I doubt it. With an enabling media, their hands on the purse, their brazen ability to lie and not be held accountable for anything the Liberals will win again.
    Rather than drop an F bomb on us Paul, take pity. We live under a kleptocracy. It seems there is little we can do about it except vote. We would love to do this if the Andrea Horrvacuous would decide to the right thing and join Mr. Hudak and vote the bums out.
    Of course in Alberta, you have a sterling exemplar of leadership in your recently departed premier. People who live in glass houses…

  40. NME “For many years Ontario picked up the tab for the west…
    So now you believe it’s pay-back time?

  41. NME666;
    ‘For many years Ontario picked up the tab for the west’, please tell me you are having a little fun with Paul. Is that what they teach you in school back in Ontario? I am counting on Ontario to regain its sanity even tho it is probably to late. As Quebec nears its vote which I hope is for the PQ and a ‘yes’ to separation it will not be business as usual in this country.
    Paul from Calgary;
    You got the folks riled a little, especially the Red Tories. Not a lot of real conservative thought going on anywhere in this country. I sympathize with the fellow from rural Ontario as we in the interior of BC are in the same boat. BC Libs are simply pink Dippers. If it makes a dif I sent money to Wildrose until they stopped taking out of province money. Who would have thought they would be that ethical?

  42. Of course NME 666 conveniently forgets that it was Ontario’s stupid ‘We are Canada and we shall have dominion over the west’ that caused Alberta to resort to Canadian handouts back in the bad old days. But that’s a story for another day.

  43. Any chance the so called CBC is going to cover it?
    Nothing on their website that I could find.

  44. I’ve found Paul in Calgary offensive and ridiculous since he started commenting here. I laughed when he thought he could run for office. I also want to hold off being offended by his comment here because he’s probably right. I live right in Toronto and I have voted conservative for all of my adult life but there are too many brain dead lefties here. We are going to end up with an NDP government or the Liberals again next. We might get a conservative after them. Who knows for sure.

  45. I love it when rebuttals show all the grace and finesse of a bull in a china shop; break it or shit on it, eh?
