  1. Can’t believe they dressed up for that. Gotta be in Russia where the nanny state is still dormant. We aren’t even allowed to play with real lawn darts here. Impressive stopping power on that tank.

  2. The tank is a German manufactured Leopard II; appears to be in Dutch service; whatever was behind the video it is a dangerous stunt; and with similar juvenile videos of Canadian tanks jumping and drifting over parking lots, puts thousands of dollars of uncalled for wear on the suspension and tracks – paid for by the taxpayer.

  3. I knew a German soldier who was having a tank race at Shilo and the two tanks ran in to each other. I think the excuse was they were on a parallel course and didn’t see each other.

Hey, you put a bunch of bored kids in charge of something that huge and awesome, you know they’re going to see how fast it’ll go. Drifting a tank? I’d have given up my beer ration for a month to have a go at that.
You should see what they do to the helicopters.

  5. It’s a composite video, with the tank video added to the background of the people video. There is a description of the probable procedure in the .nl link above, but it is unlikely that a rather noisy tank approaching from behind would elicit that degree of unconcern.
“… thousands of dollar of uncalled-for wear and tear …”: you apparently haven’t seen a tank being driven off-road, and you have never experienced the rush of driving a tank across a heavily rutted field at 35mph.
    Cheers
