Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

But in Canada we have lost count completely.
We are regulated to reverse. Standstill was the Martin years.
County, municipal, provincial, federal, NGO s.Voluntarily nonproductive dolts all know better than you or I how to perform our work.
When you are deemed a violator no matter how you go about your business.
F**k them all.
Why should I comply, contribute to thieves and fools?
My opinion has become near certain, that my governments are controlled by nonproductive parasites, who damage society far more than they enhance it.
Ethically I can not support lying, stealing and wanton destruction.
So how can I pay taxes?
Government costs double the average cost to the customer.
In specialized fields they render the work unaffordable.
So why comply? I am going to be robbed,my time will be wasted and the wealth I produce will be flushed down a toilet or burned up in another government cluster, while over paid nitwits jeer and then insist I must contribute more.
Even if rules and regulations have bankrupted your business, there are more rules and regulations to rub salt into the wounds before they let you suffer in peace.

New study finds that the US ranks well behind countries like Rwanda, Belarus and Azerbaijan in how easy it is for an entrepreneur to start a new business

It’s much more important to have a ‘job’ in America for the health insurance. Here in Canada with universal health care, it becomes very advantageous to be self employed, and entrepreneurship is encouraged. As well, in the US govt red tape and a complicated tax system makes it one of the worst countries in the world to start a business. All of that makes it harder for so many overqualified people competing for too few ‘jobs’, while the opportunity to be self employed is thwarted.
“So why comply?”
Because if you don’t they take all your stuff and stick you in jail with Bubba the axe murderer. Or lately you just die “resisting arrest”.
Easier not to bother, eh?
Hernando De Soto pointed to over-regulation as one of the major culprits that make and keep “third world” countries poor in his 2003 book, “The Mystery of Capital: Why Capitalism Triumphs in the West and Fails Everywhere Else”.
The US is now attempting to emulate those failures.
Exactly.
Who gets the Dane gold?
Slavery is always enforced by capital punishment.
But voluntarily buying ones servitude seems insane.
However as I am going to be punished , regardless of my actions, there is little point making the kleptocrats path easier.
The cost of confining me will be $100,000/year.
I am guaranteed 3 meals a day, housing, colour TV,medical, dental, all kinds of supervision.
As I currently work for a living, these same bandits threaten to take all of the above from me, for an ever increasing number of reasons.
And will not protect my property or permit me to protect it myself.
As the governments at every level is now broke, their theft will only escalate.
Total breach of contract, time to starve some parasites.
They can not steal what I do not produce.
But, but, but the messiah is focused like a laser beam on jobs, jobs, jobs…. oh wait, that was the past 5 job recovery summers; now its freezing cold global warming and focused like a laser beam on income equality except spread the wealth kills all wealth and we are all equally miserable. Rwanda with a machette here I come.
Indeed. The Chinese must rub their hands with glee every time Queen’s Park rolls out yet another regulation. No need for economic espionage as long as Ontario has the likes of Wynne, McGuinty or Bob Rae at the helm.
Employment equity, WHMIS training, workplace standards, health and safety training and compliance, freedom of information compliance, harassment in the workplace policies, environmental impact studies, transportation regulations, union-friendly labour legislation, zoning prohibitions, compliance with land-use policies…I-yi-yi-yi-yi, get me out of here. And that little list likely represents only about one percent of the red tape that strangles productivity, eliminates profit and kills any dreams of start-up, let alone expansion.
I think your average American has quite enough of the goonish regulatory pushiness of the post 9/11 Washington domestic imperialism. The push back is forming – people are just looking for someone to lead them in the march back to constitutionally contained government.
In a word “Paul”
One can live quite comfortably without taxable income. Knowing how to fix anything that ever worked allows me to maintain my lifestyle for minimal hardware costs (salvage parts) and zero labour costs (hobby experience). They can penalize you for income tax evasion, but not for income evasion. One of the best thing my father did for me (RIP) was to buy me a $50 car upon high school graduation. I spent that summer honing my mechanical skills on a 1963 Renault Dauphine. Later investments in a participating life insurance plan (whose interest income is non-taxable due to grandfathering), conservative company-matched RRSP conributions and a prior-to-the-boom downtown Calgary house purchase allowed me to accumulate significant equity. Having a girlfriend who is tragically gainfully employed in a public service union grindmill helps, but I do contribute my share. After the apocalypse, give me a call. I will be the only one whose phone still works.
