Related to that line is a few tweets from another Maclean’s writer,Martin Paliquin. These tweets, and there may be more out there, were from Thursday night,Friday morning.Oddly enough,Patriquin was on CBC’s “Power and Politics” repeating that meme Tuesday. He likely gets paid for these appearances,I think it is $500 each time.
A quick review. Justin messes up. A Maclean’s writer defends him that evening on twitter to the other media types. The CBC then hires this goof to defend him on their next show. We pay the CBC, they pay him.

The funny thing about Trudeau is that behind his pretty boy looks he has father’s arrogance but does not have his father’s brains. So he is a walking, talking disaster.
As for Hebert, I am constantly amazed at how seemingly intelligent people are so slow to realize the obvious, whether it be Trudeau worshipers, or Obama worshipers, or all the millions that gone like lambs into the global warming fraud.
People seem so easily switched on by fluff and shallowness of ideas, and it does not bode well for the future.
My parents are the bell weather on this one. They are the definition of a liberal. Lots of money, always vote liberal, always complain about taxes and they love their little trudeau. They’ve been hoping for the big trudeau come back since the eulogy. Anyway they’ve been a little quiet about the shiny pony lately I’m thinking it’s reaching the swamps.
The US media excuses black politicians based on the unspoken practice of making allowances for lesser capabilities.
Perhaps that explains the Canadian media’s handling of Justin?
Or, they just feel bad for him that his dad was a cuckold?
BC
his father’s brains….really, explain that one to me
I’v worked/dealt with about 20 PHDs in my life, Turd’Oh the elder wouldn’t be in the conversation most of the time
and as to “blind” worshipers, just go to any church!!!!!
We’ll see how long this goes on. I’d give it until about the first anniversary of his being elected leader, and then the puff pieces and glowing accolades about “how far he’s come” will start surfacing.
I think the media is guilty, and some of them, at least, realize it, of over-reach in this area as well. They’ll have their own measures of public opinion, of course, and I suspect that they’re also not hearing, as in the case of your parents, about how wonderful things are going to be. More likely the opposite. I suspect they feel that he’s embarrassed them. They’re probably also feeling that their objectivity bona fides, or what’s left of them, have taken another hit. Time for a correction in that last regard, and time for a downward expectations adjustment, and time for a “get your act together, buddy” shot across the bow.
It’s ironically amusing to read Scott Feschuk’s revelation, to wit:
“The truth is that Trudeau’s intelligence has long been a topic of discreet discussion among political and media types in Ottawa. Typically, the conversation goes something like this:
—He doesn’t seem super smart to me.
—I agree.
[Long pause.]
—Let’s talk about something else now, I guess.”
If what Mr. Feschuk says is true, quite apart from it being obvious what the “something else” would be, why the candor this week? Heck, just last week, L. Ian MacDonald was absolutely effusive, and we all know about last Friday’s P&P panel charade (including someone from MacLean’s). The media types must have gotten a real dose of push-back over the weekend, which would certainly be consistent with the belly laughs I heard (from women) when the goings-on at the “girls night out” came up in conversation.
I’m surprised by this reporting, as well: http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/robocalls-investigator-details-conservative-role-in-interviews-1.2425194
The CPC voluntarily producing witnesses who were previously unknown to the Elections Canada investigator doesn’t quite fit with the “They stole the election!” and “They’re stone-walling liars!” “something elses”, if you ask me.
This is the shot across the bow of the Dauphin’s boat, many of his cheerleaders are embarased, some angry even. I trust Justin has the hubris to rise above it all…
It is interesting to watch N D Mulcair & LIB Trudeau “out commie” each other as leaders of the two Canadian Socialist / closet communist Parties.
For those folks the media has percieved as Trudeau worshippers, the truth may be closer to that they actually worship the myth of PET. They believe that just because Justin’s last name is Trudeau, he will share the same vision, same intellect, and same abilities as the father, and those wonderful goals they have been spoon fed will all come true. It’ll be peace in our time, now lets spark up a doob, all join hands and sing kumbiyah….
The reality is that Justin is not his father and this discovery was not the result of some CPC “attack ad”, but by Justin’s own words. At some point the adage of how many people can be fooled starts becoming evident, when you’ve missed the moment to fool the majority and the other moment when you could have fooled some.
But there is another factor that is at play the media pundits either missed or ignore. That those folks the LPC considers the soft NDP vote, now percieve their first ballot choice as having a better chance of actually forming government than the now third place party. Another is that the NDP base is not content to play second fiddle to the liberals to the point of not willingly surrendering their electoral gains.
End result, is that the civil war that was contained between the liberal factions has now escalated to the left wing of canadian politics. We can thank Justin for at least ascerbating that.
Sucks to be them.
Are you comparing The Toddler as an object of worship to Jesus Christ? If you are, the disconnect is cosmic.
I use to respect Chantal Hebert many many moons ago. Her political knowledge is immense and although lefty biased (Liberal) she use to have some degree of honesty but now she is simply ridiculous. Maybe she sees no more Senate appointment oppertunity in the future and has stopped caring…It’s all about job security at the Star and CBC now; collecting for a pension into her coming irrelevance.
She might have turned on the Maoist Pony because she was mad it was a scheduled bimbo fest. After all, lovely Chantal projects the image that she might be a feminist among another suspect attribute that comes to mind (“Not that there’s anything wrong with that”) 😉
Ditto for Gregg Weston who was much more balanced at the TO SUN. Now that he his a regular on CBC “Power and Politics” he is also an embarrassing farce. A man of no morals that will say stuff that he actually does not believe in for a steady tax funded paycheck. His latest was the defense of Trudeau saying it was a joke the comment about China.
Truly an insult to intelligent listeners.
I have deep reservations when I read wishful thinking like this – recent polls say the criminal Ont. Liberals would win an election if the writ was dropped today. Never ever underestimate the zombie horde’s (AKA LIV) capacity for supporting corrupt authoritarian regimes and empty suit leaders.
Trudeau exemplifies the depth of what remains of the LPC. There’s nothing left for them aside from the usual media hacks. When they turn on them that’s it,that’s all. There are still some willing to go down with them, some, like Milewski have already lost all credibility as journalists.
The candidate running in Toronto centre should fit in with the rest of the tools should she win adding nothing but more bimbo outbursts.
Occam;
Totally agree.
I can see the Turdeau reconstruct happening now as prep continues for 2015. They can recast him and reintroduce him as having learnt the ‘hard lessons’ of being Leader of the Opposition and surviving the dirty tricks CPC.
People have to realize it is not a weak intellect like Turdeau who will run the country if he is elected. It is all about who controls him and their objectives. Choose your poison Strong thru to Demarias. These carpetbaggers have been removed from the trough for so long that they are positively drooling in anticipation of the return. You would think that after all the recent failures that they could find a better candidate.
I am not naïve enough to think that the CPC does not also have it’s share of opportunists as well. I still believe in the Reform plank of Citizen Initiatives which would empower the citizenry to pass legislation outside of the political parties. What other counter would work better to create some balance?
Empty suit Trudeau and his fawning MSM acolytes are the rear guard of the Laurentian elites fading into the dustbin of history.
My wife has argued that JT will be PM on the basis of the Obama template.
I’ve countered that, notwithstanding Obama’s lack of experience as a temp drama teacher, he was a far superior ACTOR than Trudeau ever was (recall his painfully inept “lend me your ears” performance at his father”s funeral).
Obama was able to ACT the part of the “smartest man in the room” (TM) and convince an alarming percentage of the populace including many conservatives.
Obama has been found out after two successful elections.
JT is now being found out in the Media Party because it’s now CYA time there.
I just cannot see how this airhead can become PM.
Bet (something for Kate to monitor): I will not eat my hat but I will make a $1,000 donation to SDA if JT becomes our PM. (am I allowed to make a bet at a non-governmental venue?).
There’s an old saying in Ottawa about Stephen Harper:
while everyone else is playing checkers, he’s playing chess.
Well, Justin Trudeau is playing chess, too—and he just stuck a bishop up his nose. Your move, Canada.

Oh, had a little chat with Mel Hurtig in Vancouver a couple weeks back as we walked to our cars (he was parked right behind me).
He’s writing a book on Harper and, he joked, is being fit for a bullet proof vest.
I asked him, having been a close personal friend of PET, what he thought of JT.
Summarizing, he had a very dim view citing his complete lack of policy. I felt it was safe to opine that he was an airhead and he didn’t disagree.
The fact that his advisors have to explain that his jerk comment was a joke is proof that no one, even on his team, could possibly give a rational explanation of what he meant.
Firstly, the question was such a softball along the same line of “do you wear boxers or briefs, Mr President?” That being said, it wasn’t the time to cracks a joke. But secondly, let’s say for a moment that he did think that it would be funny in front of so many aroused women. There can be no doubt that he would have followed up with the standard “just kidding” line immediately. He then would go on to tell them his serious answer.
Justine did not.
He was not joking. The greater problem is that he WAS serious.

The gaffes might be just the “tranquilizers talking” out of turn.
I have a number of acquaintances who fit quite nicely into the liv category. Although I try to avoid discussing politics with these people, conversations invariably turn to PMSH and, in their minds, the fact that he is a bully, a control freak, a dictator, a tyrant and just an *sshole in general. Of course, these “facts” were all provided courtesy of the msm, most notably, the good old CBC. Rather than open their eyes and take a good look around at just how good we have it here in Canada, they are content to take all the media bullshit at face value. They love to bring up Wallin, Duffy and Brazeau but when I mention Mac Harb, they’ve never heard of him. Maybe it’s because he’s a Liberal and the media doesn’t want any part of that. It’s pretty much a sure bet that, when the Senate scandal is exposed in its entirety, many more Liberals will be outed and subsequently ignored by the media. The Harper detractors like to portray the Prime Minister as doing nothing for the “little guy”. Then I get to ask what the GST rate was prior to a Conservative government and what the GST is now. Blank looks. How many tax breaks for the “little guy” have been implemented since the Conservatives took power? More blank looks. I realize that it’s not the best debating strategy to get angry but sometimes when attempting to educate the liv with hard facts, it’s difficult to overcome the urge to slap someone upside the head.
Aw, c’mon everybody, rejoice! At some point in 2015 we’re going to see JT on stage on live TV debating Harper and Mulcair. To me the anticipation of that is the same as waiting for Episode 7 to come to theatres!
This is a phenomena not exclusive to any political persuasion.

He lacked the intellectual rigour to complete Harvard; he alienated Canada’s biggest trading partner; he introduced official bilingualism; he ran the country into massive debt and decimated the armed forces; and….he married Shaggy Maggie.
So, it sounds as if Turdo la Doo is indeed a splinter off the old intellectual chip.
With the 50th anniversary of Kennedy’s assassination coming up we should remember that the original Shiny Pony was JFK junior. Another dim witted echo of dear old dad. Perhaps we should encourage Justin Trudeau to take flying lessons.
