Three cheers for the vets…the real Americans and not those Marxist Manchurian candidates in the White House.
Yep, that just as bad as not paying out death benefits to fallen soldier’s families.
The “Obama-Nation(tm)” has no shame and mean streak…he needs a wheelchair armed assault on the White House. Those 80 and 90 years olds have probably got more moxy than this two bit chaos hustler.
Cheers

And now it begins: push back to the Obamanation and his abominations.
Good, and Godspeed to all of the Americans who’ve had enough and have decided to do something about it. Obama needs to go.
Will Zero do what our Zero, aka Pierre Elliot Trudeau, did and call out the army? If he does, I think he might get a little bit more than he bargained for.
I am cheering with you, Ken and Hans. These are patriots and I do believe that the Good Lord is smiling on them.
My heart is with these brave souls who are not cowed by fear (don’t rock the boat rhetoric!), patriots who believe that the prez and his thug pals are public servants who are not in charge of citizens. The barrycades are falling because they are not part of ‘the land of the free and the home of the brave’ where men have innate rights and gument servants are limited to their chained off pens.
God Bless all the Patriots.
Thank-you very much for posting this and all the links, Kate.
Could this be a beginning of a revolution?
Perhaps that is why the news manufacturers are keeping it down.
Weasel Zippers is keeping an updated thread on this development as well..

“From TheDC Photodesk: Vets storm WWII memorial, march on White House”
“Hundreds of veterans descended on Washington, D.C. on Sunday under overcast skies and light rain to protest the closure of the war memorials during the government shutdown — and tore down the barricades surrounding the memorials to sounds of horns from truckers and cars and the roar of motorcycle engines.
They were joined by Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, Utah Republican Sen. Mike Lee and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who urged the Democratically-controlled Senate and President Barack Obama to remove the barricades and end the partial government shutdown.
Police blocked the roads, leading to tense stand-offs as the protesters swarmed on to the road surrounding police cars, chanting “Move these cars!” They then began marching on the White House to continue their protest, carrying uprooted barricades along with them to toss in front of the White House.”

Game on…
I went to one of those conspiracy theory websites about a week ago and they had a post up, reportedly from Europe, about a European intelligence organization that had concluded Obambam will bring in the Emergency Measures to make himself dictator. The truly scary part is that I can no longer just dismiss the report as so much ‘conspiracy theory’.
What I love about the greatest generation, in Canada at least, is most of them are pro universal health care.
and were is one of the best known vets, McBrain, or is he still hobnobin with Syrian terrorists.
and would love comments on this event from that swift Kerry vet.
I hope this is the first step ot opening the information door to lefties (and rinos) and LIVs
It looks like the greatest generation has one last job before they go
Heard a press conference a day or two ago with Harry Reid. That man is evil, and a pompous, arrogant ass to boot. He calls the Republicans “fools” and then expects them to negotiate with him.
It is clear Reid is doing Obama’s bidding. Like a henchman that the Mafia would send out to deal with those infringing on their turf.
What is remarkable is that Reid/Obama don’t seem to give a damn that Republicans hold a majority in the house 232 to 200. This ticks the King off no end. The free will of the people be damned, the King has asked Reid to use the senate as a weapon.
The whole thing is disgusting. Americans have to wake up to the reality that is before them and do something soon.
I also fully expect the King’s dreadful wife to get in a few more taxpayer funded junkets before it is all over and they finally have to leave and go live back in Chicago.
America is a republic of free people. But Obama sees things very differently.. He is trying to destroy the country by pulling on all the important threads that hold it together.
Alinskyesque eh..?..
In the jungle, the poli jungle, Obama sleeps tonight…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2O0k7e5ApFU
Notice the fact that there is no garbage strewn about?
Rebelious, defiant and NOT a bunch or pigs.
Good question there.
Martial Law, coming soon to a neighborhood near you.
Now they have a use for the billions of rounds of ammo, and the MRAP’s they got from the army.
In the last days, perilous times shall come. They may be just around the corner.

The forces that have been sent out to subjegate their fellow citizens in the name of the State and Obama, should assist in the removal of the Barrycades.
However if they so they will be setting themselves up for backlash from the administration and potentially become a target of it themselves.
So instead they will do what they know to be wrong to ensure they maintain their paid positions of authority.
Yes lines are truly being drawn – between the no longer free citizenry and the citizenry that are employees and operatives of the state.
God Speed America.
This is not about politics any more. Its about people living lives free from the whims of others.
“Bilgeman II
Upon further reflection, I suspect that this morning’s events in DC are of significant importance.
The Community Organizer has finally met the Community….and his NPS and police hirelings,( many of whom are themselves veterans), did not DARE to resist the thorough rejection of him and his agenda that their actions construed.
The choice is now as clear and as plain as it could be….
Whom do you stand with?
Take careful note in the coming days of who sides with whom and why, and then take action accordingly.
There is no equivocation here…no middle ground….no compromise.
If you are an “essential” government employee, then it is now your duty to make a mutiny against this tyrant and his policies.
Whom do you stand with?
If you swore an oath to the Constitution, then it is time to make good and keep that sacred promise.
Whom do you stand with?
The vets, disorganized and on their own dime met the tyrant’s hirelings in the streets….and the hirelings blinked.
Perhaps they realized that they were on the Wrong side.
Now let the tyrant who sits on Nixon’s toilet feel the isolation of a man who would be King….over the Land of the Free.
Today is the effective end of the Reign of Obama . No amount of spin can paint this as other than what it plainly is.
So…whom do you stand with?”
http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2013/10/13/photos-veterans-overrun-the-barrycades-liberate-the-memorials-in-washington/
maz2,I’m afraid the cops side with the guy who signs their pay/pension cheques, and it ain’t the side of the Veterans.
One protestor yells out.”you work for us”,and you can almost see the cop thinking,”no I don’t,I work for the government.”
Obama’s community is the 50% of America that depends on the other 50%’s taxes to make their living.
I hope it IS the start of something big, but they have a big hill to climb and a lot of heavily armed opposition to endure. Every Republican who could draw breath should have been at the barrycades with those veterans, where the hell were they?
Are they too dumb to NOT recognize this moment,or don’t they care as long as their life is cozy?
This reminds me of the last battle of Belisarius.
At that time Justinian II’s Constantinople had sent its entire army to North Africa. Suddenly a new threat appeared: an invasion from the north. Constantinople was defenseless.
Justinian called upon Belisarius, long since retired, to meet the threat. So Belisarius called out to his old, scarred, even crippled comrades in arms to rally to him with whatever weapons they might have. More weapons were found by making pikes from iron fences around public buildings and gardens. So armed, they marched northward to meet the enemy.
The USA is not facing an invasion from outside. This invasion is from within. And the old warriors are facing the foe.
The Belisarius text above is mine, but my name got garbled somehow. While correcting this I’ll also take the opportunity to recommend a strikingly beautiful book: “Count Belisarius” by Robert Graves. It may be a little hard to find, but it’s well worth the effort.
Besides, you want to know how his last battle turned out, don’t you? And I’m not telling.
Don’t worry about Obama, worry about Valerie Jarrett.
Perhaps some of those now engaging in civil assertion of their rights, can remind these enforcers of the Presidents will, that they will be immortalized on Utube.
They can not use the Eichman defence, so must choose.
The constitution or the community organizer.
Or should that be choose between the community and the community divider?
Barry is learning what even the Soviets recognized – don’t pick a fight with the patriots who served in the armed forces, as it will not end well for you.
Once again, the vets demonstrate what remarkable citizens they are, and that their patriotism is one of the strongest pillars of he Republic.
This is actually a new low for the US. Amazing that this is happening, it’s surreal to see this once great country, treating its old veterans as a danger to the country.
Pathetic.
The USSA is her, and its real, folks. Cruz and company really do need to keep up the pressure and not back down. Oweblamer has gotten his way all through this thanks to a GOP that can’t hold firm. Time to push Owe to the edge, make him blink.
Make no mistake, folks, the Leftards and their Comrades in the Media Party will paint these activities as being carried out by white, racist lawbreakers who are finally showing their true colours when it comes to El Messiah. That IS the narrative that will be pushed forward over the coming weeks … and sadly, probably stick. 🙁
Watching the video of the mounted police brought Kent State to mind. Funny how the sides have switched in 40 years isn’t it?
I had to choose between going to DC this weekend and participate in this or see Palin & Mark Levin at the Steve Lonegan rally yesterday. I went to the rally yesterday. First time seeing both in person. They were great.
What a pathetic country that would even think of doing this to its own patriots.
Give ’em hell boys!!
The people are finally getting very pissed off. What I want to know is where are the young people who are going to be most affected by the creation of the USSA? Today seems to have been relatively peaceful but I suspect that isn’t going to last. The fact that Obozo put up the barrycades and sent the Gestapo out to physically threaten 90 year old veterans in wheelchairs indicates that he’s becoming unhinged and likely more dangerous.
The statist robots who are opposing the people have a choice; live up to the oath they took to defend the US constitution or end up swinging from a lamp post when things get ugly. Unfortunately, I suspect that a lot of the statist thugs that make up the new totalitarian organizations created following 11/9/2001 are likely going to obey what are illegal orders. One of the reasons that the history of pre-WWII Germany is considered verboten as a subject of discussion as it shows how a democratic state can turn into a totalitarian one and the HSA is just one of the examples of this happening in the US. Now is the time to remind these people to re-read the US constitution and what constitutes an illegal order and the fate of those who “just followed orders” at the Nuremberg trials.
Removing dictators from power is always messy and I just hope there are enough US patriots around to finish the job once they start it.
Contrast this with the Occupy movement of a few years ago. The people participating – no similarities there. Obama spouting sympathetic comments – still waiting. Police taking a hands off approach toward the Occupy crowd – you decide for yourselves how they are treating people who have actually done something. Media encouraging more of the same by giving positive spin, repeating the jargon of the protesters without subjecting those comments to scrutiny – no comment. On a different topic, Obama is merely an empty suit. Remove him, and the media will find another one to take his place.
This will be a long, bloody fight. It will be so because the DC-MSM axis of evil will not listen to the will of the (productive, tax paying) people. THey control a vast array of goon squads: DHS, ATF, FBI, and other armed bureaucrates in the EPA, IRS,DOE, etc. Additionally they control the Obamaphone thugs ready to rip off anything they can get their hands on. They will face around 3 to maybe 5 millions well armed resistors, many of whom understand tactics, and will be acting solo or in very small groups of family members and close friends. The resistors can fight the goons and thugs to a stand off at best. But victory will be determined by the decisions made by the leaders of the various armed services. WHich side will they provide air coverage. When the army turns on the tanks will they be used to repel Obama’s army or use them to squelch reistors? And so on and so forth.
It will be bloody, it will shred civil socity (what’s left of it). It will take decades for the wounds to heal. Or, it could spiral out of control and split the union asunder. (My best guess.)
http://tinyurl.com/yd2kcao Once in a lifetime you get to choose. I’m 65, my children are all adults capable of taking care of themselves and the groandchildren. I’m ready for the shooting to start. Just don’t ask me to shoot and scoot too far or too fast. I’ll start firing at 400 yards and hopefully enable the youngersters to retreat to a better position. My skill is I can put 10 consecuative rounds on a dinner plate at 400 yards in 10 seconds. Nowhere near the skill set of a highly trained young man that can make a head shot at 1,000 yds. But it might be just enough to buy time for other, more agile persons to escape and reqroup.
This is all fine and good, rah, rah etc. But really, there are only about 200 people at that monument. It’s not exactly a revolution.
Wow.
Yeah well, remember WWI began with a coupla shots outa a pocket pistol……The ME and Maghreb was set ablaze by 1 fella in Tunisia self immolating.
Revolutions begin for various reasons….usually normally minor in nature. Unpredictable.
These demonstrations although not small, vastly exceed anything the Obamination can rally…..
Logically the Spitehouse is gettin’ nervous.
CNN described the event as being – “a stunt pulled by Tea Party crazies”. There is no depth of intellectual degeneracy this Dem party propaganda tool will not chart.
Yeah the media is minimizing the crowd size and making a big stink about the presence of 1 (one) confederate flag…..
Yep,and that’s the image most of the America will see.
‘What I love about the greatest generation, in Canada at least, is most of them are pro universal health care.’

Have you ever spoken to or known any real vets, Tim? I have; my mom is one of the RCAF ladies who went to England to ‘support the men who fly’. I grew up with vets from WWI and WWII and not one of them had a good word to say for Tommy Douglas or his minnions. My Mom is alive and she does not go to the Dr. or the hospital because she claims that most drugs from big pharma kill people and that bacteria in hospitals make them places to go to to die. She is 92 and living proof that holistic medicine prevents and cures disease.
Vets have their own health insurance, Tim. One of few few perks that soldiers have been ‘given’ for their fight for the rest of us. Why would they care about being pro health care?
Legions are no longer the venue of vets (if that is where you meet your version of vet) most legions were taken over by ‘wanna be vets or vet’s family’. The day the legion outlawed smoking was the day the vets left their own legions. Smoking or non smoking…these brave men and women would have never dreamed of asking a soldier to leave their legion to smoke a cigarette, pipe or cigar. My mom claims that those men earned that right and paid for it in blood. She does not smoke herself but she knew many young airmen who relied on cigarettes to keep their sanity and to dull their physical and mental pain/stress to a workable level. Most of the vets I know/knew smoked. It was their spineless kids who mocked and belittled their own parents (because most of them could not ever be half the person their parent(s) are/were) by forcing them outside to smoke their nasty tabaccy or to stand up for themselves. The spoiled brats and the ones who stayed home (like Turdo) were ashamed of their parent’s values and the fact that they had routed Hitler and the Japanese with guns and courage and had (gasp!) wanted to take out Stalin too! (Yes, Tim; the Canadian soldiers had no stomach for shooting Soviet soldiers who refused to board the trains home to Unca Stalin and his thugs in the Soviet Union – worse than death awaited them there) The commi(kum by ya peace and love nics) kids had to wait until the vets turned 80 and thinned the ranks to foist them out of their own legions to smoke. The vets of the sixties were not fodder peace nics dared to fool with.
Still, it is our WWII vets that are still fighting tyranny today eg. smart meters, seat belts, florine in water, gun bans, tobacco bans, death panels …
BTW, Mom still runs all of her own affairs, cleans and cooks for herself and takes care of the old people in her apartment block. She can still run and she reads and writes and owns and operates a computer. She could educate you on banking and monetary policy and the folly of putting your health and life at the mercy of politicians, Tim.
Glad to hear that your Mom is doing so well Jema54 but the math doesn’t work for your contention that universal health care came about because of the baby boomers. Diefenbaker toyed with it in the early 1960s and Pearson brought it in to effect in 1966. 1966 is 21 years after the end of WWII which means that the baby boomers were too young to vote on this matter.
From my memory, the WWII vets whom I came to know through family and the Legion, spanned the political spectrum. Some were arch conservatives and some were flaming liberals/socialists. Some lost their Christian faith while others gained a new found belief they could hold on to. Some became very self disciplined and could withstand the harshest hell while others would race from the room at the sound of a clinking coffee cup. Some went on to reach to top of their profession and others went on to be regularly picked out the ditch while in a drunken stupor.
I personally don’t call WWII vets the greatest generation but rather hold that they were regular folks who had a job to do and went and did it. My father in law received a bravery medal for calling artillery fire on his own position. He didn’t call it an act of bravery but rather one of desperation. His company’s position at Ortona was about to be overrun by Germans. He simply figured his chances of survival were greater from friendly artillery than enemy infantry. He must have been right because his entire company came back from that fight jangled but alive. BTW his political leanings were always Progressive conservative and favoured universal health care.
Joe – Tommy Douglas from Sask. is the papa of medicare. Sask got ‘the gift’ in 1964. The boomers were kids at that time and medicine and having babies cost $$. War vets were not for it – their wives and depression people were because they thought it was free. Sask people did not abuse the system as people today do – Dr.s still made house calls and hospitals were clean until 1970 -71. I think it came in federally in 1966.
Boomers were the generation of ‘entitlement’ seekers (not all but most) because Canada was booming after WWII and the greatest generation wanted to give their kids things that they had never had when they were kids during the Great Depression. Dr. Spock, Freud and the imported ‘progressives’ (like Douglas) infiltrated schools and universities pitting kids against parents and grandparents with shallow ideas from the pens of sleazebags educated to destroy. War vets (the real ones) did not have the stomach for violence after what they had seen so they went along to get along in a strange world that had no idea or interest in what they had seen and fought in WWII.
The vets and the people of Cypress Hills never did vote for the CCF.
Jema54, thanks for that. I’m heartened to hear your mother’s views with which I agree. I grew up with vets too: real men and real women, with backbones who knew what honour and sacrifice meant.
My husband’s mom is almost 100 and spent a good part of the war in England, driving the postal trucks and taking care of the mail for the Canadian soldiers. She was a CWAC: Canadian Women’s Army Corps. They don’t make them the way they used to. And that saddens me. Watching how too many young people treat and think about our vets, without whom we’d have no freedoms, is disheartening. I’m sickened by the Obamanation’s machinations, which are heartless and recklessly and ominously dismissive. Who the hell does he think he is?
Zero and his administration are a bunch of lawless thugs. Who would have thought that the United States of America would come to this? It’s difficult to wrap one’s mind around what’s happening Stateside.
What Joe said @ 9:39 on the 13th. The radical left have taken over the government and now send the police after the patriots. Schutz-Staffel not far behind.
sasquatch is right @ 9:57 on the 14th. The vast majority of revolutions begin with fairly innocuous people needs events or one minor government oppression too many. The American revolution was triggered because on one perceived tax too many. The Russian revolution was triggered because because food could reach the cities because a the rail service was barely adequate for peacetime, but could not handle troops, munitions as well as the transportation of food to the cities. These revolts had been percolating slowly waiting for a spark.
The media will be able to cover for the Commissar-in-chief only so long, as they also did in pre1776 and pre1917.
My opinion regarding universal health care is that initially the built in weaknesses of bureaucrat run health were not a problem, but with the passage of decades the weakness grew like a cancer and took over the system. Now we are talking about killing seniors and other non-productive people, and at the same time viciously attacking people who want to fix the system.
Jema54 and batb, the sad part is that many of those who fought in the war somehow neglected to pass on many survival values. Most had experienced the debilitating effects of the Great Depression and then the war also scarred many in a different way, so they wanted better for their children. At the same time, as someone above mentioned, Dr. Spock et al and the Marxist 5th column infected our society, my age group) and now our children, the grandchildren are busy destroying the freedoms their grandparents fought for.
Batb – it would be great if my mom and your mother-in-law could meet! How fortunate we are to have them with us; I count my blessings every day. I talk to my Mom almost every day, she phones me and usually picks a fight because no one will argue with her anymore! I never think of Mom as old, she thinks young and she is always learning – she uses the internet like a library and is just thrilled to read books on her screen. Mom’s eyes are older than she is so the lit screen is ideal for her. She eats and drinks coffee while surfing the net. I hope that your mother-in-law stays with you for awhile longer.
I agree with every thing you said about the zero next door, batb, and the danger that he is to the world. Ken (kulak) you are the SDA in house mentor for all things about the terrible fate of the people in the Soviet Union; you make the millions of souls who perished have meaning because some of those souls were your family. Thank-you both and commentators above for caring and sharing ideas and insights. SDA is a light in the darkness and has been since the day Kate put that little dead critter on a web page and invited people of her ilk to read, learn and comment.
Thanks, Jema54 ~ and I agree about Ken (Kulak’s) invaluable insights into a past that seems, horrifyingly, to be becoming a present reality here in the West.
My mother-in-law sends e-cards! Amazing. Your mom and her seem to be cut out of the same cloth. When she was younger (in her 60s) if she decided on a home renovation and a wall needed to be knocked down, she knocked it down!! She was born in Saskatchewan, a stubble jumper.
Dear Jema54, “greatest generation“, specifically notice the latter word, implying that we’re talking about people from a time, not from a particular role (such as a war vet).
That aside, my grandparents both participated in the war effort, grandfather as a mechanic overseas, and grandmother in the factories at home. Grandpa has since passed, but my 91 year old grandmother remains a strong supporter of universal health care, while being a conservative voter. Grandfather was the same.
I’m sure there are people on both sides, and yes lots objected to Tommy’s plan initially, but lots of those people came around later when they saw that the sky didn’t implode. The cost of health care delivery in those days was relatively inexpensive as well without all technological upkeep that is now a part of the equation.
