Desperate times

Six years ago

Al “Internet” Gore – who has made millions on global warming hysteria – said the North Pole could be “ice-free by 2013.” Well, it’s 2013… and the Arctic has grown by 60 percent. That’s more than half the size of Europe.

Yesterday:

Former vice president Al Gore…called for making climate change “denial” a taboo in society.

  1. Desperation is setting in,Gore knows he may be about to lose a cash cow that had earned him hundreds of millions.
May he be struck by lightning.

  2. Gore as Lysenko; “Scientific dissent from Lysenko’s theories of environmentally acquired inheritance was formally outlawed in 1948.” That is what Gore is advocating.

  3. For the “corrupt” clergy of the Green Theocracy, faith in the narrative is paramount while objective reality must be ignored or suppressed by the divine supremacy of the narrative as it is intended for the good of Gaia. The faithful follow regardless but the battleground is for the hearts and minds of the young, the disengaged and the superficially intelligent. The believers are still winning thanks to the enormity of the institutional left.

  4. As scumbags go, I’m not sure if he is worse than the current POTUS but when it comes to psychopaths, Gore wins hands down.

  5. “And to think this scumbag was almost president of the United States.”
In a way,it’s to bad he wasn’t.By 2008,the states would have been so totally fubared, the Chimp-in-Chief would not have had a chance at even a whiff of the WH. Now they gotta suffer 3 more years before reality kicks them in the teeth.C’est la vie.

  6. at one time the bible ruled supreme in faults beliefs, now not so much
face folks, once we kill this beast, an other will rise from stupidity and greed

  7. IMO Gore is nothing but a bloated windbag/blowbag and should be called upon to explain where he got all his information about global warming/climate change and why nothing he “predicted” is working out.He refuses to answer questions on the subject he became rich on. This is what you expect from someone who is a complete fraud. Will he declared a fraud and charged? Any bets?

  8. The whole AGW carbon fear mongering hysteria is coming crashing down around his ears with the reality of global cooling becoming widely undeniable and the collapse of fallacious climate modeling. In a few year (which is usually the extent of the zombie-lefts denial cycle) when it finally sink in to the zombie hordes they have be had – for billions – Crbon banking Al should be the first prosecution for this gigantic con game.

  9. Gore is going to go down in history as a con artist, an Eco grifter, a skanky, immoral politician.
The Nobel in his pocket can’t protect his reputation debacle that is going to engulf him.

  10. When will Gore’s movie “Inconvenient Truth” be called a con job,a Convenient Lie to pad his bank account to the tune of millions? To coin a phrase we Canadians know well…”a proof is a proof and when it is proven it’s a good proof”…

  11. You see, not all environMENTALists are terrorists!
Clearly Algore is a moderate environMENTAList as he eschews jailing deniers in favour of societal taboos.

  12. Tellingly, Al’s remarks appeared in The Hill, a specialty news blog for political wonks otherwise largely ignored by the real world.
Al is so “over” in the popular mindset.

  13. I think when Big Al lost to George he decided to cash in while the getting was good.
Canada’s very own David Suzuki wants to throw ‘climate deniers’ in jail as well. He is a even worse character because he has some scientific background and yet spouts the stuff he does. Gore is simply a sleezy politico and their ethics have never been in doubt.

  14. “Compared to the previous year not 6-years ago.”
A 60-percent change from one year to the next is even more dramatic than one over six years..

  15. Yeah well, according to that chart, the Nordic Orion is near the position the doomed Franklin Expedition ended back when.
Just because we can do it don’t mean it’s practical…..sort like making gold outa lead in a nuclear reactor….

  16. Except that they’re saying it will become more practical in the coming years.
You guys are like the Black Knight in The Holy Grail… you’re dancing around with your arms cut off pretending nothing is wrong. Climate change is upon us. And even if for some crazy reason, the CO2 was not causing climate change, it is acidifying the oceans, which is bad for a whole other list of reasons.
Bottom line… conserving energy is a win win. Except for the energy producers. They’ll get hurt. Which is why they’re fighting as hard as they can to keep people burning as much as they can with zero regard for the consequences.

  17. So, let me get this straight: Stephen Harper is “muzzling” “scientific” dissent from his position on Keystone XL, according to the editorial board of the New York Times (and that’s bad), but Al Gore is calling for peer-pressure-driven social suppression (“taboo”) of dissent from his position (and that’s good)? Have I got that right?
And some people still believe that George W. didn’t actually, you know, win Florida in 2000? And that Stephen Harper hasn’t won three elections in a row already?
It’s nice to see LAS show her slip (well, not really) — she supports Al Gore. Best of luck in future with that!
And, as for John, why not just be up-front and say what you mean (Climate change = anthropogenic global warming), and face the bulldozering? Quite apart from which, “Bottom line… conserving energy is a win win” allows your slip to show, too: you have no knowledge of financial economics, strategic analysis — or English grammar, for that matter; on the other hand, you do subscribe to the Chrystia Freeland school of making questionable and circumstantial ideas sound pretty. Good luck to you, too!
