  1. This was too priceless to pass up
Reality TV stars crossing Northwest Passage on jet skis forced to cancel Arctic trek after costly rescue
    http://news.nationalpost.com/2013/09/13/crew-filming-reality-tv-show-forced-to-cancel-trek-through-northwest-passage-on-jet-skis-after-costly-rescue/
    To quote the story:
“Ironically, one of the main goals of the expedition had been to demonstrate how ice-free the arctic had become.”
The 7 idiots took jet skis from Inuvik in late July and chose a path thru the NW Passage with no support vessel or tracking plane and got stranded in the Franklin Strait after an over night freeze up. d’ohhhhh Canadian coast guard icebreaker was called in to rescue these idiots.
They were far from even the 50% mark thru Canadian waters nevermind trying to cross the north atlantic during the fall.
Global warming stories have lead to these type of stupidities.
Seize their equipment and assets till they pay for this rescue in full.

  2. This is old news; climate change in the 1940’s caused the German defeat on the eastern front. The unusually cold winters allowed the Russians to supply Leningrad over the ice of lake Ladoga during the siege of Lenigrad. Had it been a normal winter, Leningrad would have fallen as ice roads across the lake would not have been passable. The intense cold contributed to German defeats at Stalingrad and their drive towards Moscow (although the attempt to simultaneously seize both Moscow and the southern Russian oilfields was likely overambitious). Similarly, climate change contributed to Napoleons disastrous Russian campaign as well as the subsequent decrease in height of French men given Napoleons propensity to want tall soldiers in his army.
Military history is replete with examples of how “climate change” has resulted in changing the course of wars. The only problem with climate change is that it’s been happening since the earth was formed.

  4. So Hitler and Stalin were nothing but mild-mannered missionaries until the advent of AGW in the thirties.

  5. They were far from even the 50% mark thru Canadian waters never-mind trying to cross the north Atlantic during the fall. Ha.

    News story should have read:
‘Global Warming Fools Have Died, Sacrifices Help Feed Over-Populated Polar Bears.’
One of the polar bears was overheard asking for Large 32 oz cup of Coke to go with his meal..
This is one of their sponsors email web sites,

I sent Kawasaki a copy of this news article and my criticism for how stupid it makes their company look on television and in the social news media sponsoring global warming fools.
Hit these globule warming idiots with several bags of lost sponsors gold.

  6. Lifetime Emmy Award winner Bill Moyer.
Commenting from the Jimmy Carter Nursing Home computer center..

  7. ‘Sounds like Darwin Awards just waiting to happen. Before Coast Guard rescue ships and helicopters, they’d have died.

  8. Not to worry EBD – if Upper Unicornia succumbs to malefic tribalist warfare as a result of conservatives dissenting from fallacious climate fear mongering, we can simply sprinkle the magic public broadcaster pixie dust over the subject and it will all go away – at least on the airwaves of the reality-manufacturing special interest media – but that’s the true reality isn’t Bill, we never let facts, science or objective reality ruin the leftist fantasy narrative?

  9. I don’t watch much TV. I think I have heard of Bill Moyers but I don’t really know who he is. Is that Lifetime Emmy award for comedy?

  10. Really? It was really hot and dry last July but instead of invading the Akwesasne Reserve (all the smuggling they do makes it a rich target) I sat down with some sorbet. When I was younger and in Frobisher Bay at -35F with an arctic wind blowing I never thought of overthrowing the government either.
Yes there was a drought, but the remedy for a crop failure is to call in the UN and/or buy food from other countries and distribute it.
The fact that Iran is mostly Shiite and they support the Shiite Alawites that Assad belongs to while the majority of Syrians are Sunnis as is Al Qaeda suggests that this is the continuation of a muslim civil war over power. The mad mullahs of Iran and the equally mad goat molesters of Al Qaeda both want to establish a new Caliphate with themselves at the top.
By my count the causes of war in the past century are.
    German imperialism – WW1
Japanese imperialism, Nazi imperialism, Italian imperialism, – WW2
Communism – the Russian Revolution, the Chinese Revolution, Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Rhodesia
    and countless lesser wars.
Islam – the anti-Israel wars and the continuing terrorism against it, all the wars, uprisings and bombings in the Middle East (save Kuwait, that was Saddam being greedy), Somalia, Darfur, Nigeria et al.
Except for bad Vlad annexing Georgia all conflicts of the past 25 years have been caused by the followers of the religion of peace.

  11. I spent 8 years in the US Coast Guard in the late 50’s early 60’s. Fortunately most of the mooks that pull this kind of stuff either hadn’t been born or were too young to cause much trouble.

  12. Prime Minister Stephen Harper held a BBQ at a local winery here a couple of days ago. At the gate were about five protesters. Their signs and chants seem to be protesting mostly the (fake) GMO scare thing. I was curious to see first hand what people like this are really like up close. So I waded into their mists a la Lord Monckton, Levant style, heh. Well, they truly are of the blank mind mindset. To any of my statements that organic food has killed many people (ecoli from manure, naturally occurring harmful funjii, ect) while GMOs have not even caused one stomach ache, they would simply and literally chant nan nan can’t hear you, beat the drum ect, make mindless noise and kept repeating they had a right to protest. When I asked why they acted that way they said ‘so we can’t hear you.
There was one nice lady (local councilor) who was supportive of the protest but not part of it. She seemed quite well informed so I asked her a few questions. As an example of the extent to which our beloved legacy media has dumbed down the population – I asked her what percent of the earth’s atmosphere consists of carbon dioxide. She gave it some thought and was roughly correct on the nitrogen and oxygen parts. She thougth a ball park figure for CO2 would be 6%. When I told her it is a miniscule 0.04% she was truly taken aback. She was out by a factor – not double, not triple,- but of 150 !!
This is what we are up against. Until the legacy media loses its ability to dumbdown the populace there will be misinformation, dangerous misinformation all around us.

  13. Bill Moyers continues his decent into Collectivist dementia.
Next he will be seeing the “little ” people in fairy rings.

  14. GMO concerns are not “fake” Ron. I don;t want to put any of that corporate poison in by body but instead of pounding the pavement and slogan chanting like the reality challenged left, I prefer to have the government require all GMO foods to be labeled as such and let the free market decide if this genetic muck is salable in a free demand market.

  15. If weather is considered to be short time frame climate change then Old Bill is partly right.
“Since 1988, Bashar Assad’s regime misdirected Syria’s scarce water resources toward wheat and cotton irrigation in pursuit of socialist self-sufficiency. It didn’t pan out—and when drought hit seven years ago, the country began to run out of water. Illegal wells have depleted the underground water table. Three million Syrian farmers (out of a total 20 million population) were pauperized, and hundreds of thousands left their farms for tent camps on the outskirts of Syrian cities.
Assad’s belated attempt to reverse course triggered the current political crisis, the economist Paul Rivlin wrote in a March 2011 report for Tel Aviv University’s Moshe Dayan Center: “By 2007, 12.3 percent of the population lived in extreme poverty and the poverty rate had reached 33 percent. Since then, poverty rates have risen still further. In early 2008, fuel subsidies were abolished and, as a result, the price of diesel fuel tripled overnight. Consequently, during the year the price of basic foodstuffs rose sharply and was further exacerbated by the drought.”

  16. Loki – I believe the first dictum of battle is, or should be: Never, ever advance of Moscow in Winter!
